Giuseppe Tognarelli
Very questionable and shortsighted career move by Fromm. He had a good chance to be the long-term primary backup for a winning organization starting next year. Puzzling as I'm not sure how this helps him except for very short-term financial gain. Now, he goes to a very unstable situation, likely facing offseason upheaval. 1 7 2 1

Daniel Jones is close to bust status, if not already there. Yeah, he could’ve stayed on with a chance to develop into the long term backup here, but there was no guarantee. After riding the unathletic Matt Barkley train for a few years, I think think the Bills prefer an athletic profile more similar to Josh’s traits holding the clipboard so they don’t have to change everything if they need to use him. Which Jake Fromm is clearly not. 1 5

Augie
But…..who will handle all our insurance needs? A dome team (or at least a team with less challenging weather) might have been a better landing spot for him, but I’m sure he’s just happy to make an active roster. . BillsFanForever19
I wouldn't be surprised to see him back here after the Giants inevitably end up releasing him from their 53.
FilthyBeast
I guess one thing you can give Beane credit for is the hype around some of his late round picks given how many of them have been poached by other teams the last few months. Would be pretty wild to see Fromm starting games for the Giants by the end of the year. 1
LABILLBACKER
Too bad the Chiefs didn't sign Jake Fromm State Farm. Webb will do in the short term. Besides I have a feeling we'll sign Daniel Jones as a backup after the Giants dump him. Edited November 30, 2021 by LABILLBACKER

Yes, PS players are essentially Free Agents and can sign (or decline to sign) with any team. But the Giants must pay him 3 weeks regular roster money, which is $43k/game or a minimum of $130k. I think a 5th rounder flyer on a successful college QB is worth it. He could’ve turned into a great back up or even been a Mac Jones. Don’t blame the Bills for taking a chance. They could have used that pick on an interior olineman or a DB. BTW I am a huge UGA fan. Never thought Jake was going to amount to much in the NFL due to his lack of physical traits.

Some have. I'm blanking on the name, but during a year when the Bills were horribly hurting for QB.....I guess it was EJM's rookie year? 2013? We started Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis at QB....anyway we tried to sign a QB from someone's practice squad and he said "Nope, Thanks, I'm Good!" Also it used to be a team could choose to pay a PS player more $$ and I don't think the PS salaries counted against the cap. Now they count, and it's a standard one rate of pay for rookies and another for vets.

And why wouldn't he have a clear path as the Giants backup? Edited November 30, 2021 by Beast

And have options next year.
