How do we support Duke?

I missed it, what did they say

In reference to how important Diggs is to this team and how much better they are, they referenced that Allen was throwing to Duke Williams in the playoff game last year...

Brian Griese was saying that Josh had garbage to throw to, like Duke during the WC game last year and Kelvin Benjamin the year before.  he probably didn’t realize Duke was still on the team.

Was it griese?  I thought it was levy

I did a double take when I heard that comment. (1) By the same logic, you could say they don't have anyone this year b/c he threw to McKenzie a number of times, or that they were relying on the rookie Davis b/c he got over 60 yards a few games this year. It was a false equivalency, since Duke Williams was not Allen's 1st option by a long shot and that's what Griese's analogy implied; he just got a lot of passes in that playoff game. Griese seems to have forgotten about Brown and that Beasley was also there last year and playing well.

Getting Diggs changed the dynamic of the team and gave them a true #1 take-over-the-game receiver, as opposed to 2019's group of good receivers and 2018's mess, but the Duke Williams analogy was not the right way of expressing how Diggs changed the offense.

What exactly did Griese say wrong? I mean Duke was the number one receiver targeted in the Wild Card game. Duke had a couple drops in the playoff game that maybe Diggs would have caught. Griese was praising Beane for the overhaul. Should we also apologize to Dawkins for them calling the oline terrible two years ago?

He said "...he was throwing to Duke Williams!..." and said his name in a kind of disgusted/insulting way.

Yeah. Like "Who?" and what had Duke done to become a household name?

He was absolutely correct.

In a media environment where BS over the top and undeserved positive hype is the standard it was a outrageous and nasty comment. Griese just put all of this years success on Diggs. Diggs has been awesome, no doubt and is the best receiver here since Moulds.  But Griese unfairly dissed Duke who played what, 5 games? Maybe Duke might have performed better had he been played more. I dont care about Benjamin because he was an outright useless and lazy but Duke busted his ass to be on this team and contributed last year. In addition, Griese overlooks Josh's huge leap in quality and completely forgets and totally disrespects the great seasons that Brown and Beasley had. I really hope Griese apologizes. It was a real ahole thing to say.

Unnecessary shade last night.   Let’s show our love Buffalo.   What can we do?

Totally disagree.  What he said was 100% correct - maybe a bit mean, but correct.

Diggs and Davis versus Duke Williams - a practice squad extra.

was it necessary- nope, but that does not make it wrong.  The team recognized they needed more: Diggs, Davis, Hodgkin, etc - they knew relying on Williams was bad.  Williams wasn’t even the call up with Brown out - it was Kumerow.

Should tell you what you need to know.

Meh...

You're going to both extremes here in the same sentence.

Griese won't be apologizing for anything.

Maybe let him be #14 to catch a TD this week? Idk. I like Duke, and I agree the comment may have been worded harshly, but the point itself isn’t necessarily wrong.

Duke had a lot put on his shoulders and while he had a few good catches, he had some game changing drops too. I’d be happy if the comment puts a chip on his shoulder and helps him perform of he’s called up.

I thought Griese was very funny last night.  “Well y’all wanted to see some Jarrett Stidham”😃😃😃😃

All the Stidham talk has been dumb to me, honestly. The guy's not a rookie. The Pats know exactly what they have in him. They didn't need to play him, except for the sake of showing mercy to Cam.
