At 54 the Bills will take? Your guess here!!

A corner. Donā€™t know which one will be there or which one will be highest on their board at that time. But they need one and they better grab one early if they want one with potential to start right away. ThatĀ josh Norman/EJ Gaines/Levi Wallace role is teetering as none of those 3 inspire confidence. They will be targeted constantly.Ā

Its going to be there top rated player regardless of position. Iā€™m hoping for either an edge or WR in the second. Ā In the third the opposite of what they got in the second (edge/wr)Ā and a trade up in the third for a running back. Ā I like Edge ( Okawara,Lewis, Greenard), Wr (Claypool, shenault, Van JeffersonĀ ) or RB (Dillion, Moss, or CEH). But CEH would have to be at the 2nd rounder.Ā

Trade the pick for a 2nd rounder and another high pick next year

Trading the pick was my first thought.Ā  But I feel like if there is a QB needy team who drafts after us in the second round, who did not take Tua in round 1, but still likes him, they would move up to take him earlier in the second round.Ā

A corner

I think this is about an 80% probability.Ā  It doesn't happen if either the corner they want is gone or some other player they had a 1st round grade on has dropped.

Iā€™ll say an underrated player that no one is talking about either is LB Logan Wilson from.....Wyoming.Ā

Ā

A position of need. Josh Allen would have a knowledge base on him when it comes to who Logan Wilson is as both a person and player. Could be a good SLB to compete with Klein or be the eventual replacement for Milano if he leaves for FA.Ā

Ā

As a player, 3rd team all American, All conference tackling machine. He also is on the plus side of athleticism for guys who worry about his play not translating. Ran a 4.6 at the combine, 241 pounds. Think he might actually go before 54 but if doesnā€™t heā€™d be a great option.Ā

I'm hoping Beanes lucky stars are shinning bright for us in this years draft, and the recent injury reports lets Laviska Shenault fall to us at 54.Ā  I would also like to be thrilled with;Zack Moss beingĀ our pick at 86 and K'Von WallaceĀ at 128.

Ā

Shenault in the slot with Beasley would be a nightmare matchup for defensesĀ

I don't know much about the top prospects, but I'm starting to feel like they will select a CB in the second round. If only as some insuranceĀ if Tre White is difficult to resign. Plus the could use a 2nd CB.

Ā

we had the 2nd best secondary and 2nd best defense in the league last season without a top #2 CB we will be fine next year. a 2nd round CB prospect isn't going to come in and fix everythingĀ

I don't think it'll be a CB. That narrative is being driven by certain parts of draft twitter not liking Josh Norman. Logically it makes little sense based on history and what the Bills have in terms of rosterĀ

By same token, how does idea of another safety differ? Ā They have 2 good starting S.

Steve Caric is Logan Wilson's agent so I'd take this with a grain of salt. I have seen him getting a lot of hype from various sources though.

Yeah but another good CB would make the D air tight. I'm open to many options, just saying.

I could see that. I think CB or DE/Edge makes most sense with 2nd rounder. I would resist the urge to go RB until round 4 or later unless one of the top guys falls to 86.

Can he play OLB - iā€™ve seen him mainly listed at inside?

Because he wouldn't be a safety.Ā

Ā

You play him whilst in Nickel. Same with Chinn, who I don't think will be there.

Would he play nickel DB or as a LB in those sets? Ā I donā€™t know that Iā€™d want to see him trying to cover Julian Edelman or someone similar. If the idea is as hybrid DB-LB for defensive flexibility, I could see it. Ā
Ā

I think given his age (24) and level of competition, DuggarĀ is going to be drafted lower than many have speculated. Ā Of course, I could be very wrong about that...

I've got both slipping to the top half of round 3 between concerns about position and lower competition.Ā

I think it depends on the opposition. Against a TE such as Kelce for example I'd far rather him than Taron Johnson, equally against a mobile QB like Jackson he'd be less risky than Klein as your 3rd LB.Ā

Ā

His age is a fair challenge and why I think Chinn will go ahead of him. But potentially at 54 I think he could be one of the few exciting players who could make an instant impact.Ā

Ā

More often than not, when I've done mock simulators I find myself trading down 8 to 12 spots from 54 and using it to jump up from 128 or 167. The round 4 drop off seems very steep into the 5th/6th in a lot of positionsĀ

I would take this guy in the 1st if we still had our pick. No way we pass on him in the 2nd. My guess is that we make a move up to the top 10 of the 2nd to grab him. No clue what the comp would be but may include a DT considering we have 5 on the roster.

Tee Higgins.Ā  I think the quicker, smaller athletes win in the NFL.Ā  Those guys will get drafted first.Ā  Buffalo needs size and Higgins falls into their laps.Ā  He becomes the big slot and X in man situations.

I think that him playing WLB would be a stretch but him coming in and competing with Klein I could def see. Also makes the depth much stronger as he can obviously bump inside of something weā€™re to happen to Edmunds. He ran a 4.63 and put up good lateral agility numbers making me think heā€™s more than capable of playing in space a little more.

I consulted with the spirit of Vizzini to come to this:

Ā

Clearly, there is only one position group with an obvious opening and that is RB.Ā  Brandon Beane made a point of saying that they had confidence in Yeldon as RB2 and we know that Brandon can't allow himself to lie to the press and fans due to his Christian/Boy Scout character.Ā  Thus, he masks his intentions in an blizzard of honest comments but he withholds some.Ā  So what is the missing truth?Ā  Would they go into 2020 with Yeldon as the primary backup to Devin?Ā  Inconceivable!Ā

Ā

They want to upgrade the offense, add more playmaking talent, score more points, spread the RB workload, add to the positional depthĀ and add a bigger bodied talent that can get tough yards.Ā  Doing so on a cheaper rookie deal for four years makes the most sense.

Ā

The missing truth is that they want an RB1A or RB1B and it's not TJ Yeldon.Ā  Clearly, since there was no FA signing and we know that Beane likes to initiallyĀ fill such holes with a FA signing, they have hopes to fill this spot via the draft and are hoping for a talent the equal of or better than Singletary to make it to within their striking distance.Ā Ā A true downhill runner who qualifies as a legit playmaker.Ā  This implies a 2nd or 3rd round pick, imo, and they likelyĀ have players targeted at both spots.Ā  Given the decline in RB draft status, it's likely that such a top talent could fall to a spot where they could conceivably go up and get him.Ā  So, my prediction is RB in round 2 or in round 3 with a trade up involved.Ā  If the guy they want makes it to 45ish or 75ish, they would not chance letting him get drafted by someone else.Ā  So.... Taylor in the 2nd or Akers in the 3rd.

I am hoping for an immediate starting caliber cornerback.Ā  After watching Wallace get burned all last year, I believe that is our biggest single weakness on either side of the ball.Ā

Ā

The cornerbacks we signed in free agency provide nice depth, but I am not confident that they represent an upgrade to Wallace.

Wallace played well before the bye and he played well at the end of the season.

Ā

Just get him to figure out what to do in the middle of the season and the Bills will have one heck of CB.Ā ?
