Would anyone look at maybe calling the Jaguars about Fournette?

Recommended Posts

If he only costs a 5th, and is at 4.16 mil. For one year, he would be an asset, and can reassess after the year.  We would take a RB probably in the 4th or 5th anyway, so not a great risk.  I know his history, but he did have a very productive year in 19, so unlike me normally, I’d consider it if they could come to an agreement with our expectations meaning the process thing.  Otherwise, I’m fine rolling the dice on a later round pick maybe Dillon and see what happens.

Tre White will be able to tell McDermott and Beane whether he is radioactive in the clubhouse or manageable.  If he is manageable, I would go as high as a 4th.  He is a really talented and has something to prove.  You know in New England they would turn him around and control his "attitude".  Maybe he had an attitude problem because Marrone is a turd.

I'm sure Yeldon, who was in the RB room with him, also has his own take on it.

i love how the train horn is going off too. Just adds to the chaos. Man that's a tough environment for teams to come into!!

I doubt this has any impact on how he feels. If anything it shows him how amazing our fans are , especially compared to that weak a$$ fan base in Jax .

I wouldn't mind having him. This staff values a vet back there , I'm sure Yeldon has given some insight on him as well. We can't keep rushing Allen on 3rd/4th & 1 . He'd be a great addition , but will his ego be okay with Motor getting more carries and just a situational back? If he's on board , it's a great addition imo.

I'm sorry but what now? Besides last year he has been lackluster at best. Both his rookie and 2nd year the guy didn't even avg 4yds per carry. He's also had injury issues. Top all that off with the fact he has 1 year left on his contract and that makes this deal insanely stupid. Just draft a RB in a very talented group this year.

Marshawn Lynch barely averaged 4ypc in Buffalo. Fournette is a beast of a RB that in the right situation can be a 10+ TD RB. He's not going to be a high ypc RB.

I really don't care that he has 1 year left, in fact that's a positive. I wouldn't want him if he had 4 years.

He won't cost a lot to trade for. I basically want him for 1 year. You can draft a 2nd or 3rd round RB any season.

At least he’d be around passionate fans! That has to mean something to these guys!

Doing it after the draft wouldn't make sense because then you have to dig into next years picks. I'm all for a late round pick this year without digging into next years picks at all but that's it

Even better.

Honestly, I’d rather take AJ Dillon in the 4th-5th than trade for Fournette.  He just rubs me the wrong way.  And I like to be rubbed the right way ??‍♂️

I wanted to “like” this, but I don’t want any rubbing involved. I want no confusion there!

Now, Dillon later on works for me. Maybe the Krafty Cheater can give you some suggestions on the rubbing part?

This is how the Bills get good. Doing the opposite of what they’ve always done, which is let their talent be pilfered by other teams.

Take advantage of a dumb team handing away talent for next to nothing. That used to be the Bills. Pat Williams, nah we don’t need him, London Fletcher? He’s too old, Lynch, ehh he’s a problem, Jason Peters, he is lazy.

A fourth round pick? It’s a no brainer for Fournette.

Johnny White, Xavier Omon, Dwayne Wright - Other famous mid-round Bills picks.

What’s more so disturbing about this is that Bills fans have been convinced over the years that at you need this perfect culture to win.

That accumulating draft picks, having cap space, and a team that gets along is the goal. Winning games is the goal, and the Bills franchise has done far too little of that.

We thumb our noses at Fournette, last year he put up better numbers than Fred Jackson’s best years here.

He’s plenty good enough for our Bills, for a 4th Round pick? Freaking steal.

Even after it causes him to be needlessly thrown out of a game where he was a major offensive weapon that we then go on to lose?

Well we’d have fournette to come in and run out the clock! Seriously though, you know had a bill taken Brady out, even if it cost us that game, fans would put him on the WOF

I don’t find throwing beer cans at opposing players a illustration of “amazing fans” but I don’t table jump or puke and pass out either, so I suppose I’m not an amazing fan

Jacksonville probably wins that game if he doesn’t get ejected. Dude was destroying the Bills defense. They didn’t have an answer for him.

Like the game Shaq picked a fight with him and they both got ejected? That was his best contribution all season I’d say. Fournette was torching us that game.

Picked a fight with him Fournette had to leave his sideline to go into opposite side of the field to get to Shaq.

He is not looking for choirboys but guys with good work ethics and from the stories coming out Fournette does not have a good work ethic. Though with the discord at Jax maybe the rep is not proper.

His Coach is Doug Marrone.

Saint Doug, who has seen it all, done it all, knows it all.

Playing for a fringe NFL organization, with a GM that has a 0.333 winning percentage.

The guy was the 4th overall pick 3 years ago. Let Jacksonville hand him to you for pennies on the dollar. Stop worrying about working hard. That's what Beane and McDermott's amazing culture is for.

I look at the general dysfunction of the Jags organization as of late, and the mess that Coughlin made with his old old school approach and subsequent firing. Fournette may not win the “hardest working man in football” award, but his stats tell me he works plenty hard enough on game days.

Fournette not even averaging 4.0 YPC until this past season is a concern for me.  And missing 10 out of 46 games is also a concern.  Then there's the fact that he's got one year left and will likely be looking for a big new deal or be gone after the year.

Marv also said he wasn't looking for choirboys. Nobody in the NFL is looking for choirboys. But there is a difference between "not a choirboy" and being a disruptive scum bag---you get that, right?

Look at the list of "infractions" in Gibson's tweet. Does THAT sound like the kind of guy Beane targets?  I don't think Beane gives a damn about whether the players go to church, or how they act in their private/personal lives (short of creating issues for the team).  But he sure values players who have a high work ethic and buy into what the team is doing.

The excuse that his behavior was OK because, well Marrone and Coughlin suck, is preposterous. They were successful in his first year---went to the AFC championship game. If he can't buy into a team that's successful, how will he react during tough times?  Well we know that too. He completely s#its the bed.

Again, I'll say I think Fournette is a good back (not great, just very good). And if there is a way they can ensure he comes in with a fresh attitude and a willingness to buy-in, then maybe they take the shot. Unless they are close to certain, I think they take a hard pass.  We get a lot of Fournette reports here in north Florida. Unless Beane finds something hidden inside Fournette  that makes him believe otherwise, I can't see the Bills making this trade.  If they do, i think Beane sets it up so that he has to toe the line or he's gone.

And I’m absolutely cool signing him for this season only .... you’re gonna get max motivation in a contract year

Maybe.  But there are some good RB prospects in the mid-rounds who will be here longer.

If they dont get the back they want in rd 3 would they send a 4th?  Thats the question.  The Jaguars offense has been abysmal for a while.  Every game make them win by throwing and put 8 or 9 in the box.  Fournette with a third less usage may become more efficent.  Singletary, Fournette and Yeldon is as good a backfiled as any.
