Duck definitely looked superior tonight. He completed a lot of passes to guys in Bills’ jerseys.

Haha, I'll have to total up the yardage

It’s worse than wrong; it’s stupid and it’s indicative of the kind of analysis that plagues the NFL these days. I can guarantee whoever wrote that hasn’t watched enough of Allen and certainly hasn’t watched Hodges to conclude that.

I’ve seen all his throws. He doesn’t do anything very well. He was their third stringer for a reason and while I think he’s playing better than Rudolph, acting like it isn’t ridiculous to say he’s better than Allen just means you haven’t seen him play. He throws safe passes underneath and a couple 50/50 bombs that his receivers help him out with occasionally. He is in no way shape or form a better QB than Allen.

Not bad

Fitz was the best QB besides Allen we've had since Kelly

He played on crappy teams and won us games with some great performances

The dude has vastly outplayed his draft slot and has 30k yards. He made Stevie Johnson not the opposite

That's why Fitz is still making millions

No my friend I have to disagree strongly, Fitz was not the best since Kelly hell he’s not even the best since Flutie. Fitz for what he is as a QB is very mediocre to poor. He’s a great leader and good locker room/roll model guy but that does not win you football games at the end of it. We overpaid for a career back up who looked good

because of TO and Johnson. We wasted so much time on developing him it was ridiculous. Modern day Joe Ferguson but with a weak arm

Poor QBs don't last 12+ years and start all those games

He's physically limited. A poor QB far from it

I’m sorry but he held this team back for so many years because of his piss poor playing, don’t get me wrong I liked him but he’s not a starter and never was, I’ve seen his stats and they are garbage

He was hot and cold with us but in the end he's an average NFL starting QB and you need more than that to make the playoffs consistently.  We tried the same thing with Trent Edwards and Tyrod Taylor.  A lot of teams fall into that trap.  I'm seeing it right now with Tannehill, Minshew (Foles), Carr, and Winston.  If the front offices thinks that's their guy for the future they have another thing coming.  Allen at least has the physical tools to develop into a franchise QB.

Yep. Indeed the only bit I thought you were a tad harsh on was the deep balls. I do think Hodges while he doesn't have a great arm has really nice feel and touch on his deeper passes and there were 2 or 3 more examples last night. They are still not always exactly on the money but the problem is he lives and dies by that. When asked to read the defense, make good decsions and accurate throws to move the offense down the field consistently he comes up short. Some of the decisions on his 4 picks were mind bogglingly bad.

I don't think he is better than Rudolph. Rudolph's head was scrambled after that Cleveland game not just by the ending but by his second half performance so I understood the move but there is no way they have gone to a better QB in Hodges.

I agree totally - you can see by his completion chart they showed during the game - he was living with the very short pass and then getting completions down the field, but nearly nothing in the 10-20 yard range where a QB is reading and anticipating throws.

He is basically taking cheap check downs and 50/50 balls, but to Pittsburgh’s credit - it had worked against mediocre defenses like Cleveland.

The Bills were prepared and made the plays to win this game.

There are not 32 QB's better than Fitzpatrick in this league so obviously he's a starter. Is he a starter in e Superbowl contender? No, but in the NFL, yes.

Duck wasn’t good. Personally ever play he made last night that was positive any QB playing in the NFL could make. there are roughly 64 QB’s on active rosters. Every year over 100 QB’s graduate from D1 programs. Every pass I saw Duck make, anyone of those quarterbacks with college arms could of made.

The defense held the team back while Fitz was here. The only thing Fitz was guilty of was not being capable of carrying a bad team on his shoulders.

If they keep Fitz in 2013 and 2014 instead of reaching for Manuel, they win 11-12 games and go to the playoffs in both of those seasons.

I won’t allow Fitz slander in a thread I started. We all know his limitations but he’s still beloved here and we need FitzMagic in Week 17 to capture the AFC East crown.

"I've seen his stats" is usually code for "I didn't watch the games and I don't know what I'm talking about, but I have a way too strong opinion"

Technically he WAS more accurate.....I consider those 4 INTs as completed catches ;)

No I watched the games and plenty of them and minus a couple nice ones he outright sucked in most and held the team back for several years

If he was that good then why did Buffalo cut him, why wasn’t he able to take the Jets to the playoffs back in 15 and why didn’t he take Tampa bay to the playoffs last year and get benched for Winston for the third time?

Also if he was as good as you claim him to be then he would still be the starting QB here in Buffalo

Buffalo cut him because Buddy Nix and Doug Whaley are morons.

There is space between terrible and Super Bowl caliber franchise QB.

If he were as bad as you claim he wouldn’t still be starting NFL games seven years after his release.

Fitzy is a decent quarterback. Nobody ever fully committed to him, but it’s a testament to his game that he’s went to all of these different teams and rather it’s by injury or great play he snags the starting job. He’s hit and miss but nobody has ever built a playbook or offense to suit his strengths either like some other successful quarterbacks

All the hype for a UDFA QB that cant throw past 10 yards consistantly against Bad Defenses, now he faces a real one and look shows he is nothing more than a UDFA QB that should stick to his duck calling

He’s not terrible.  He’s not a starting QB IF you are trying to be a contender.  A “contender”, not a possible back door playoff team in a season devoid of worthy playoff teams.  He continuously throws picks at the end of games and is a choke artist imo.

he can move offenses from time to time but his most consistent skill is ruining his teams draft position.  He is not a “good” qb.  He isn’t terrible, but he’s not a guy you want if you’re trying to be serious about winning playoff games

The Steelers game was not Josh's finest hour. He made some mistakes and missed some opportunities. But Josh came through with enough big plays to support the defenses fantastic effort (and the special teams quality effort.) But Josh has had a lot of other quality games against bad to decent teams that you could point to that far outpaced anything Duck Hodges has done. I am not sure if Josh is an elite QB but he is progressing and still growing. 2020 I think will see exactly around what kind of QB Josh can really be long term.

Whaley had nothing to do with Fitz getting cut, and Nix realized they made a mistake paying him all that money for mediocre production

Josh also racked up his sixth 4th quarter comeback .. all time record is 43 by Peyton Manning .., hopefully the pace will slow down as we improve and win more wire to wire ... but you have to like how he operates in crunch time
