Gugny
Personally, I love the damn thing. I even have a train whistle at home that I'll blow on 3rd downs from time to time. It seems that many fans hate the horn. I even found a link to a change.org page trying to get it removed, LOL!! What say you?? 2

Chuck Schick
It's a little goofy, especially when losing by 21 late in the 4th...but it does seem to cue everyone---even the drunks---to crank up the volume for a couple minutes. 2
Houston's #1 Bills Fan
I can't stand the damn thing! I mean, if people don't know it's third down, then they shouldn't be watching the game. I voted GO!! 5 minutes ago, teef said: i don't hate or love it. i feel the same way about dave matthews. meh. HAHAHAHA - awesome! That made me laugh today! Mark80
The buffalo stampede noise was soooo much better with the video of a stampede on the big screen. Edited January 3, 2019 by Mark80 8 2

BillnutinHouston
Hate the horn. Anyone know if there's a particular tie between Buffalo and trains? Like, is the horn supposed to represent our great industrial past?
Heitz
Full hate on the whistle from me - that thing GOTS to go! I'd replace with either the stampede footage (Dances with Wolves) or, preferably, the Loyal Order of the Water Buffalo Handshake (Flintstones). Go, Go, Buff-a-lo! 4 1
Rc2catch
I’m too far away to go to the games live. But I’ll say I find it to be annoying at times on tv.

Mark Vader
I voted indifferent. I think the train horn is louder on television than it is at the game. When I was at the home opener, I would hear the horn but it wasn't that obvious. Having the buffalo stampede would be a lot better.
Bakin
It’s meant as a distraction during the playcall from sideline to players on the opposing defense. I believe. I think the Pats do the same with the horns..and they are the biggest cheaters around...

Agreed - I voted indifferent because it does not overly bother me or make me excited. I do prefer the older make some noise methods. I also agree that they overuse it and that does make it worse. coloradobillsfan
It doesn't even make any sense when you think about it. A train horn signifies a large basically unstoppable object coming down the tracks at you But we play it when we're on Defense...

C.Biscuit97
I wish we were more original. Like every team does the seven nations for kickoffs. And instead of the horn, what about a sound of buffaloes charging?

SlimShady'sSpaceForce
MEH. All stadiums pump noise on 3rd down to make it harder for the opponent. Why should we make it easier for them? Ergo. it's not useless
Nextmanup
Folks in the game day threads seem to hate the thing. I don't really like it; I'm not a fan of artificial noise making during sporting events.

BubbaT
Hate it with the heat of a thousand suns. It ruins part of the game day experience for me because I know I'm going to have to listen to the damn thing for over 3 hours. When the team is competitive, crowd noise grown organically from the team's play is more than enough.

brianthomas
Literally EVERYONE i've talked to about this agrees that the train whistle is not only annoying, but its downright embarrassing. As far as the lore goes of the team, it doesn't even make sense or fit in with our team. The sound of a Buffalo stampede makes the most sense, stampeding Bison would work. Perhaps even just having Native American drumming. ANYTHING BUT THE DAMN WHISTLE! The whistle is the equivalent of a siren playing at a dance music club. It was cool the 1st time u heard it 20 years ago, but now when it plays it makes you cringe. Please, just make it stop
BuffaloBillies
Maybe change it to the buffalo rumbling noise instead. If not, I say keep it. They usually blow the horn while the O is in their huddle making it harder to hear and fans get a little louder as they come to the line.
