Woof.  Not good.  Not the end of the world, but not good.  Video might make it a little tougher for Mr. Green to help Miller out of this one.

A General Manager at a paper mill makes a lot of money.  Do you think he works all those hours because he loves making paper or is it because they pay him well?  Money is the ultimate factor in every position in every industry.  It seems, for whatever reason, athletes are criticized when money is the top motivator.

NFL players are motivated by money, the fans, the attention, the glory, the rings, their teammates...it's not just one thing.  These players were once little kids and fans once themselves.  If the players didn't really care about the fans, they wouldn't give back so much to the community.

Fans are mentioned all the time in post game conferences.  Allen brought them up after losing to Jacksonville because he felt bad the Bills didn't give them a good product on the field after making that trip.  These guys aren't all just shallow people POS.

You can see it in Allen that he wants to win a Super Bowl for the fans and city of Buffalo.

Correct, but the original point was players are allowed to take care of their bodies/minds/spirits.

Another poster made comments expressing disagreement that players get 4 days off during a bye week and used the value of a contract for reasons why they shouldn’t. That sparked the comments from some of us.

The worst part is that the Bills literally can't afford to cut him straightaway.

The man has been a non-factor this year. It's time to move on.

Oh he’s been a factor.  Every time he’s on the field the Bills get gashed.

Maybe, maybe not.  Depends what other evidence (911,  photos, security cams) is available.   But there is a good chance that it goes away if she doesn’t cooperate.

95% of the time it is dropped.  All you have is body cam and uncooperative witness statements, and a prosecutor realizes that with only that at trial they will lose, even if they are and know they are right to prosecute.  Sad to say

the prosecutor will need much more, like you said, security cams, but then getting it and having it be admissible isnt an easy task for a prosecutor

Not good is an understatement.  If any part of this is true, esp the grabbing of the neck, then Terry has to move to cut him.

A 911 call + security cam video might do the trick here.  But yes, I agree with you, a non-cooperating victim typically will lead to a motion to dismiss.

It was designed to get out of after 3 years and I understand why he made the signing. Clearly, we needed pass rush help. So, yes while he can be blamed. It should also be understood the reason he made the move in the first place

Beane drafts 3 DEs in the first 2 rounds and then signs a 32 year old DE coming off a major injury to a 6 year $114 million contract.

 What a ***** wizard

They said this happened on Wednesday. What I want to know is why was Von in Dallas and not practicing with the team. It's not like he doesn't need the reps. Are we off because of the bye week?

Word is they gave the team the week off...

This sounds pretty ominous for Miller. Innocent until proven of course, but the Dallas police have a warrant for his arrest, so there must be something. If true, Just more proof that he's just a phony. All that non-stop rah-rah talk, and on the side he's clunking his girlfriend in the head. Its 100% he has a morality close, that's boilerplate in ANY athletes contract. I hope his baby momma is OK. If this is true, Bills can rip up his contract and not pay another dime. There's goes his wish to be a GM, and a broadcaster.  So far Bills have paid hin $65M+ for 6 sacks, and 18 tackles (14 of the tackles in plus territory).

yeah it could, but prosecutors think about their careers and losing high profile trials will kill a career (or make one), so if it isnt a slam dunk, he probably gets off scott free, other than paying baby momma off

They are ruining Josh Allen’s prime years, feel bad for Josh.

This.  I'm hoping JA doesn't become the next Brees / Rodgers where they play forever with great numbers on mediocre cap strapped teams. And where those 2 only got one SB win each, I hope JA gets just one too. I almost feel like it's slipping away with this team as is

No one called him a wizard for the move. It was clear that pass rush help was needed. He went out and got Von the same way he did with Floyd this past offseason. You may be frustrated with the season. But Beane shouldn't be shouldering much blame. The dude has given McDermott the pieces. McDermott is the one failing it

Prior to this season Von Miller was a unanimous lock for the hall of fame. I mean it seemed so far fetched that he wouldn't make it... now ? What do you guys think ? A whole season with no sacks 1 tackle and no effort and now this .... does he still make it?

This is what you care about? Really? HOF? If he's guilty, he'll be doing time at worst, and have a record as an abuser at minimum. No HOF, No future GM, No future broadcaster. You need a life dude.

I'm confused and not seeing how my comment aligns to your statement

We can surely agree to disagree - all I'm really saying they make decisions to play a game and get paid well - they do it by choice - to clarify that is the ONLy in any of the post that I'm commenting on

He'll buy her a new car ... she'll drop the charges ... The NFL won't bother to suspend him without her going through with it ... Von will remain a Bill and take up room on the bench or filling in if someone gets hurt, until the Bills can get out of his contract without having to cut Josh.

Okay so you did answer my question.  You do want to the Bills to be the ONLY team in the ENTIRE NFL to have shorten bye weeks to practice.  Come to Buffalo, we aren't going to give you full bye weeks while 31 other teams will.

In your mind, 4 days should be enough for them.  Practicing or playing every week since late July when they report to camp.  Not to mention OTA's and weight training/conditioning, training room, film....it's grueling.  Every weekend late July to January (longer if you're in the playoffs) is taken away by football.  And you say it makes "absolutely no sense" for them to have a week off?

This sounds like someone who has never done anything physically exerting for long periods of time.  I don't know if you have or haven't but it definitely sounds like you haven't.

IMO a full week off given the state of play of this team, yes, was too much.

They have months on end and tons of money to travel the world, after our season ends, which as a direct result of the state of play of this team will likely be in just over five weeks from now.

Who cares what other teams do.  Do you?

Otherwise, sorry that you disagree with me.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Assaulting a pregnant woman?  Zero Tolerance.

He should be cut by the end of the day and you eat the cap number, make a statement that it is not tolerated and move on.

To bad the bills didn't claim derek barnett last week before houston did.

They should at least get the facts first.

I don't know.  I'm just reading through this thread now and woke up like 2 hours ago.  So far I have seen zero information and a bunch of people jumping for joy to cut him.  If he is guilty of it then I want him cut too.  I just want to know the facts first.  I think that is reasonable.

Thinking about how this could benefit the bills roster and such feels wrong

Totally get what you're saying. I try and separate the human side from the Football side. From the human side I hope the best for all involved. I wasn't there so🤷🏼‍♂️

From the football side, I root for the Buffalo Bills and not the Von Allen's. So if he's innocent, I hope he's exonerated, back on the field and production increases. If he's guilty of something, I hope the Bills find a way to keep every penny away from a domestic abuser and have that money to restock the Buffalo Bills.
