Why is this team so flat??

The Cincinnati game should have been a Super Bowl effort. Avenge TWO games last year, and you have a week and a half to prepare after a Thursday home game.

But this is a game performance that is scary looking right now. There’s no great prior playoff success that can be summoned to excuse the players’ lack of energy and the awful coaching. The Bills haven’t played exciting football for way too long. It looks like the dog days of summer out there right now.

They got bullied again. All those dudes in that locker room okay with this??

1. The players that have money are playing like they don’t need anymore of it

2. The coaches hate each other. McD called out Dorsey in the halftime interview. He needs to make a change and bring in a game caller with decades of experience. Stop the JV experiment with Dorsey.

3. Would a terrible HC be terrible if they have Josh Allen? Isn’t Allen the quality of QB that wins 10-12 games a win regardless of his coach? Why do I always feel like he needs to be coached to the teeth to be a successful player..? The top two or three QBs in the league over the past two decades won every year regardless or receiving corps, runningbacks, Olines, defenses, and coaches.

No joy.  No passion.  No fun.  Time to change the coach.  Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t.  But that where this is headed.

Coaching. This regime was great for ending the drought and building a winner but I think we peaked under McD 2 years ago.

We peaked at :13.  It's as simple as that.  No creativity or identity on offense.  We've neglected the OL for 6 years and our defense can't ever stay healthy.

The offense is reflecting the dead fish personality of the OC. Josh may have been sugar high at times, but Dorsey was a 3rd string QB, so reflecting his attitude on the field is not what we need. I am not sure McDermott needs to go, but I am 100% sure that Ken Dorsey should not be calling plays for this team next season.

Kincaid doesn't fumble it's entirely possible we win this game.  We weren't that far off.  Defense looked pretty good all things considerned.  Offense never learns to just take what the defense is giving them.

We probably still loose on the last drive with Cincy kicking a game winning FG.

That's not our offense and not our QB, forcing our QB to be that is causing a lot of issues

Well the issue is that he is not that so forcing or not forcing the issue is tstill hat he isn't taking what is there and he's killing drives.  He holds the ball, he gets sacked, he fires it into coverage and he's turned the ball over more than any other QB in the league the last 3 years.  Yes sometimes he makes insane plays but he has to be able to keep the offense on schedule and that isn't going to happen if your whole offense is built on scrambling and throwing 15 yards down field across your body.

Can't, there's no one else out there that was in Carolina with him.

McD's hands are tied on this one.

Defense held pretty tough considering we are currently being held together by duct tape with all the injures. They kept us in the game.

The offense however is a different story. It’s been the same story during the McDermott era. The team simply refuses to run the football. There’s no balance in the offense. It’s all on Josh Allen. If he’s not great the Bills lose. Period

Dorsey should have been fired after last year. They needed an experienced OC. This year was over before it started

Dorsey never should have been given the job.

That's like handing the keys to a Formula 1 car to a racer that just made the move from the amateurs.

Yes, we were that far off. We had some fortunate stuff happen to even give us that chance.

But either way, we were never going to get that big stop to get us the ball back even if we did score 7 there. And you know that.

Offense came out hot tonight, but Dorsey decided to put the brakes on them after the first drive and slowed the tempo to molasses pace.  When he does that, Josh seems to fall into a sort of malaise and stops processing quickly, holds the ball forever and eventually scrambles right and throws the ball away.  It's the same script over and over again.

I could not believe how they opened that second drive.

It was like they said, "uh oh, this is turning into a track meet. We don't want that", so they deliberately neutered the flow of the game and their own offense. I'm not sure Dorsey can see the forest for the trees quite honestly.

Turn Josh loose- don’t rein him in. The results are obvious when they do it. McD just needs to realize his preferred style isn’t going to cut it in todays NFL, and with his banged up D. You’re overplaying it a bit with regards to the supporting casts. Regardless, this offense as constructed gets going when Josh runs tempo and is involved in the ground game too. It’s obvious. Have to let it rip with Allen.

Maybe, but it’s likely a 4 point game with around 10+ minutes left. I’d like their chances to pull out a W.

He could teach a Masters class in outsmarting himself.

Or could he? 🤔
