Random thought:  Rooting for the Rams to absolutely implode so Aaron Donald asks to be released to sign with a contender

In the 3% world where that happens, his buddies are here....

And only a few hour drive from his hometown to boot.

Well I'm glad that part of Elam's mystery has been solved with the IR designation.  That actually gives me some hope that he might actually pan out.

I feel that more likely, it’s an excuse injury.  Hide him on IR with an “injury”

I love DaQuan and he certainly provides more pass rush than Linval.

But, I think Linval is probably better at consistently taking on 2 O-Linemen

Yes, this should free up Oliver

How about a few fronts with Von lined up as the "OLB"

 Von      Floyd Joseph Oliver Rousseau

I’ve been calling for this for a while now. Even before Von was back and AJ was playing well. Kicking him or Floyd, who actually has some experience at it.

That would be a serious issue with the NFL, there is absolutely no chance McD and Beane would do this at all.  Odds of this are less than 0%

This is what the post said

"Guys, Beane is asleep at the wheel"-clueless BBMB trolls

Key word being clueless.

I just find it entertaining that people are called clueless when they want Beane to make a move. Some people just want to defend whatever the Bills are doing at all cost. Its a your opinion is bad until the Bills do what you say. Why cant people think for themselves and let others think as well.

Because the post isn’t saying “I want Beane to make a move”….. it’s saying that “Beane is asleep at the wheel”……. Understand the difference?  One is saying “the GM is failing.”  The other is saying “I hope we get someone”.

Unlikely.  Pretty much any time a player gets an injury it qualifies them to go on IR, doesn't really matter the severity. At this point in the season, there probably isn't a single person that doesn't have some sort of injury where the team could get away with putting them on IR if they really wanted to.

I guess I approve but isn’t this what Poona was supposed to be doing?

Poona was signed to be the backup 1T.  He’s not a capable starting 1T- that’s why he’s getting 2M for the season and Joseph is getting double that for half the season. One was signed to start.  The other was signed as depth

I can not fathom why anyone would have an issue with this signing or complain about it.  Some people seem to be reacting like this is March and this was the only FA Beane signed or something rather than we are mid season looking for quality help after suffering a wrath of injuries.

This was absolutely a good signing and provides like many have already said a nice run stuffing space eater in the middle.  Helps our run D and def helps our pass rushers as well.

Beane had a great week adding 3 quality players to this team in Rasul, Fournette and Linval.  All 3 guys are upgrades and all 3 will contribute a lot this season to this team.

Huzzah, my friend.

My goodness so many on this Board have slandered you through the years with stating you are lazy, dangerous, insane, glutenous, bifurcated, obscene,  sexually deviant, careless, heartless, ruthless, toothless, mirthless, brash, swarthy, condescending, prickly, cantankerous, boisterous,  egotistical, geriatrical, complicated, rude, obnoxious, demeaning, critical, clinical, technical and even mayoral...

...and where are they all now after such a great post above?

👀

I say bravo to you...bravo.

😉

BTW, Beane...ya done good, Sir.  You done real, real good the last couple of days.

I didn’t know I gained that many fans.    You’re too funny donuts.  As far as Toledo, yeahPoona hasn’t been used correctly.  He sa 3 technique guy who is meant for a 4-3, but he’s the third guy behind Oliver and Phillips for good reasons.  He shined in Seattle in Oliver’s role, but both of the other guys are better.  Phillips is always an injury risk so it wasn’t costly to have him.  Just because he’s thick, he’s never been a space eater.  He floundered in a 3-4.

Joseph so the real deal.  Maybe we get lucky and he scoops up a fumble.  Memories of Berman.

HE COULD GO ALLLL THE WAYYY, RUMBLIN, STUMBLING, BUMBLIN LINVELL JOSEPH!!!

Love the signing.  I think Jones is the biggest injury of the season, due to the domino effect the blockers he takes up has.  I'm curious to know how many snaps Joseph can handle per game, but this is a big help.

Also, I really hope Elams performance was as much about his injury as anything else.  Even still, I would have taken that 3rd round pick, if those rumors were true.

I just have one thing I wonder about.  How comfortable will he be if the Bills play him versus the Bengals?  Yes, I read the post about him coming in and playing right away last year at Philadelphia, but I don't know how similar the defenses are.  Is Buffalo's defense pretty similar to what he's played in the past?  At his age, I imagine the Bills would view him as a rotational player.

At 1T there's not a lot of stunts and call to make. He could and should play. Stuff the middle, try to take up 2 defenders to free others up. Get to the QB if possible.

Bills could have had him in the 2010 draft, but jumped on Torell Troup instead.

I know folks like to say player X was available in the draft etc, but I wonder if those players still become studs if they go to bad teams. We could have drafted Gronk but would he still be Gronk with the parade of mediocrity we had at QB? I will say that Troup was damaged goods from the get go and our cracker jack scouting and personnel departments missed his back injury.

There goes McDermott and Beane's favorite time passing game of "who would you rather have active at CB than Kaiir Elam?"

McDermott:  Let's play "who would you rather have active at CB than Kaiir Elam"  I'll start, Cam Lewis

Beane:  Nice one, AJ Klein

McDermott:  Good, my turn, Poona Ford

Beane:  Lol, my turn Jason Elam

McDermott:  Hilarious!  My turn Josh Norman

Beane: Okay thats a little far fetched.  You're not serious about that are you?.......are you...

Uncharacteristically large sum for a street FA. Big Baller Beane delivers!

I'm interested to see what his actual base salary is

Beane ABSOLUTELY doing Beane things with VERY limited resources both financially and in terms of availability.

GREAT job here.

Anyone know when he'd be available?

He's available now. Practicing. In shape.

Wonder how many other guys Beane can sign who have been sitting on their couch the last 6 months.

I'd worry about that couch thing more, but Joseph pretty much did the same thing with the Eagles last season - signed actually mid-November after the Eagles had 2 DTs on injured reserve - and it worked out very well for them.  He went hard, especially in the NFCCG.

I think at 34 now 35, Joseph still loves football but knows his body can't handle the rigors of a full season.  Hopefully the Bills verified that he's in some kind of 'good shape' (for a DT)
