Who knows what a reach is really? A lot of people here were mocking antonio johnson in the first round and he’s still there. So none of us have any idea what teams boards look like. I thought he’d go later based on what the reports were saying, but the reports were wrong I guess.

With technology, we all now have access to watch just about any draft prospect. But we don't have access to those team interviews. I think that's where a lot of the rising and falling comes from.

With both Davis and Shorter Josh is going to have to stand in the pocket for 5 seconds

Shorter is our defensive Hail Mary specialist. Huge and a great jumper. Don't need speed for that job. Although it is an oddly specific assignment :)

He likely won’t make the 53. But could a position switch be in the cards???  There could be ability with a year on PS to transition into a pass catching Flex TE.

we have the strangest collection of non-prototype size and measureables of WRs in the NFL.

He looks huge in the highlights.

I mean, why not?  It's the 5th round.  Seems to have all of the physical attributes a WR needs.  Maybe some good coaching will unleash some potential here.

At the very least we can have an amazing hands team in the red zone, with height and strength.

It's a 5th round pick, hopefully he's a star, but if he contributes anything it's a success.

He fits a specific trait. Kumerow did Hodgins Did. Beane has said they look for mismatches. What is missing in this group right now is that 6’3 220 WR. I figured one was coming. I just had higher prospects than him at this point.

Late rounds aren’t really an area where BPA should be argued. At this point you’re basically drafting guys with specific traits that fit what you want to do.

Agreed. Many 5th rounders don’t even make the team. He’s got traits that can be coached. If it doesn’t work it doesn’t work but the process is sound

Once again, Bean is choosing picks to make this offense bigger and more physical. This might be a great pick if he can refine his game. Gabe replacement if needed.

Shakir is the Gabe replacement, Shorter is the depth WR we all love replacement. He needs to hone his craft and develop. I do like this pick, I suspect he will look great this summer

I think this draft is showing a commitment to improving their red zone offense. Between Kincaid, a monster sized guard and a monster sized wideout? That plays imo.

Just generally imposing their will

on defenses a bit more instead of having to rely on perfect execution.
