He unfollowed the Bills last year and deleted all the pics related to the Bills.

Then he signed a deal to stay in Buffalo to the end of his career despite all this panic around here he wanted out of Buffalo to go to Dallas last year.

So yeah, non-story until I see something that tells me there is a story.

Uh, yeah. That was clearly a power move by Diggs to tell the Bills he is willing to move on if they don't give him the money he wants. Magically he got a $100M extension.

You thought that was coincidental? lol

I said this board all said it was because he was trying to make his way to Dallas last year.  Did you miss that point or just ignore it?  Point was, this boards panic was wrong, and Diggs remained a Bill and did so in a way to stay to the end of his career.

So all this other panic now that he suddenly wants out is just fan noise until I see something indicating he is trying to get out of Buffalo.  And I would bet good money Diggs and his agent are fully aware his big extension last year makes trading him nearly impossible from a cap stand point for the Bills during their pursuit of a Super Bowl.

The board wasn't wrong though. Diggs didn't remove those pictures because he was bored. He removed them to SEND A MESSAGE during contract talks.

And he did this today to send a message as well.

Ignoring that message is foolhardy, in my opinion.

Problem is that this draft stinks overall, but it especially stinks at the WR position. It's also a bad FA class for WRs. All the best college wideouts were freshmen or sophomores. If Diggs forces a trade, the Bills will have to take a major step backward next year and hope for a premiere WR in the 2024 draft.

Idk. Mahomes did just fine without Hill. If Diggs were to go (which he won’t) I think Buffalo will accentuate the running game more which would be a good thing. Sign a guy like Fournette, draft a few maulers for the line, and see what happens.

Yeah, the message wasn't that he wanted out though, that is the point.  He wanted to get an extension, yet this board speculated he was trying to force his way out of Buffalo, and they were wrong about that.

And now, the board is again speculating he is trying to force his way out of Buffalo.  You realize this whole thread title is not even accurate?  He didn't unfollow Buffalo and then follow Dallas like the thread title implies.  He has been following Dallas because of his brother.

That is the kind of stuff I am talking about.  Creating panic before the full info is known.  So I will wait until there is something actually factual and confirmed before I start to panic.  Especially given its not mathematically possible to trade Diggs anyway, so something MUCH more substantial than unfollowing someone IG is going to have to happen before there is any chance of a Diggs trade.

So yeah...until something significant happens to say otherwise, its a non-story just like the possibility of Diggs getting traded last year to Dallas was a non-story.

This is why I can’t stand these players who whine about contracts. They complain and moan, get what they want and complain and moan.

Yup. Give me a 1st for him and sayonara. Plenty of good WRs in this draft. Open up some cap space at the same time.

Rolling out a rookie, davis, shakur, McK. We would be in for a very rough season.

Not suggesting that this where things are, but can't a contract be restructured in a way to facilitate a trade (and then the acquiring team makes an adjustment after the trade)?

That would not help because in a trade the dead cap is almost always from money that has already been paid to a player. A team would have to recoup money from the player to get the dead cap off of their books - and good luck with that.

The Diggs contract is interesting though. He was given a $21.5M signing bonus last year. If traded the remaining $17.2M would hit as dead cap. He also has a fully guaranteed option bonus of $16M due between 3/15/23 & 3/21/23. His salary and bonuses are about $8.4M this season. If traded before the option bonus is paid the Bills would get hit with $17.2M in dead cap and have a net loss of $8.8M in cap space. After the option bonus is paid you’d add $16M to both numbers, which means $33.2M in dead cap and $24.8M net loss of cap space. While it would not be a great situation, he is tradeable prior to the option payment. After, not at all.

Brilliant...he either wants to stay or he wants to go. What other options are there?

Thanks for ignoring the details about what I said. IF he wants to stay, this is an unnecessary distraction and a poor decision. That's my big point. Is there another reasonable explanation for Diggs doing this that involves him wanting him to remain a Buffalo Bill?

Methinks some of these players like to play head games with fans with their social media. Funny how many try to make something out of it. Entertaining to say the least.

Was literally just thinking the exact same thing when I saw the the update about his brother .

There's something amiss with Diggs. When he tried to leave the stadium without even meeting with the team post-game after the Bengals loss, plus the blowup at Allen on the sidelines it was a bad sign that there are some serious issues here.

IF there is a real issue here and we could get a 1st rounder from Dallas then maybe you make the move.

this issue is he’s tired of losing playoff games.

edit; was only referring to post game behavior.  I’m guess this social media thing is he and his bro pranking each other.. 😂

The man has an insatiable need for attention.  Good thing he’s a good dude because otherwise there’s a bit of an Antonio Brown vibe there.

I seen a Bills fan tweet to Diggs recently telling him to unfollow the Bills and follow Cowgirls just to screw with people.

He is an NFL wide receiver. That's the vibe. They are divas and have been for a long time. Corners are like that too, but not as much. No need to compare to Antion Brown when there are countless, less extreme examples, especially since Diggs hasn't even done anything.

No. No it's not normal at all.

I've said for weeks now that there is WAY too much smoke for there not to be at least a small fire.

Live look at Beane trying to put it out:

Ah, so there is your motivation.  You want to be right about what you said weeks ago.  And who knows, this could further develop and show there is an issue with Diggs and wanting a trade.  But, this isn't that proof.

He can't be traded under his current contract, there is no getting around that fact.  So even if he is unhappy, it doesn't matter, he is a Buffalo Bill for at least the next 2 seasons based on cap reasons alone.  And for that to change, it will take massive developments, not some "who does he follow on IG" story.

Everyone said Deebo was done in SF last year, including Deebo himself who said he didn't even want to talk to the Niners about money or a new contract, he wanted out.  Guess who is still a 49er?  Everyone last year believed Aaron Rodgers was going to leave GB...guess who was still a Packer last season?  There was substantial more reasons to think those guys were going to play elsewhere than anything going on with Diggs, yet they didn't go anywhere either.

Methinks its that these athletes dont think about the lowly fans AT ALL, nor should they, when they are posting stuff about their own lives. And the crazy fan(atics) who have nothing else better to do are reading far too much into it.

I usually don't get too concerned over things like this BUT this stuff does affect things.

If there is a chance that Diggs in truly wanting out (let's say by next year) it could affect Beane and any restructure plans he might have had for Diggs this year.

All this drama stuff doesn't not help the bottom line for the team.

They want to give the Bills Ceedee Lamb and another pick?

Sure.

Otherwise, like Duke Tobin said about Tee Higgins, find your own WR, we're not in the business of making other teams better.

For a team captain, this is childish behavior. As was his tantrum in public. Really growing sick of this guy

That's what he's banking on.

Tantrums = frustration = Bills fans turning on him = Bills FO feels pressure to unload him

The shrug at end of game against bengals wasn't nothing. He doesn't do that unless something is up. Mahomes already working out on instagram hardcore while Allen is golfing. Diggs is a different breed, he starts working out day after season ends for the next season.

There is proof that something is wrong. Something is off. Something is amiss.

No one (that i've seen) is saying that he is definitely leaving. Just that something is "off".

Your argument is that this is "not news". But it is. Something is off.

He could play another 10 years with the Bills. But that doesnt change the fact that something is not right at this moment.
