We can complain about things from this game, but it doesn’t matter as long as we don’t do it again next weeks Nothing else matters except Ws

What about the other games that looked like this?  Do they count or was today a one off?

I've been hearing the "If we play like this next week we will lose" saying for the last 8 weeks. Honestly it's the playoffs anything can happen and no win or loss is a guarantee. So if people want to try and predict the future so be it, I'll just have faith in my team as I always have.

Agreed! We are in trouble next week. Everyone here says we need to “clean things up” and we’ll be ok. Guys we are ourselves. They should have been doing that for 10 weeks now. Bengals will blow us out.

Bengals didn't blow out anybody this year. But yeah, they will definitely blow out us in OP next week. Lol

Next week is next week. The way NFL football goes we can absolutely win the game.  The Bills might play better or they might play worse then they did today.   Only time will tell.  Maybe this is how we are going to keep winning games no matter who we play.

I get where you’re coming from but we had problems today that we’ve had for a while.  Problems that will be exploited by the really good teams left.

KC lost to the Colts. They barely beat the Bronco's twice, and nearly lost to the Texans. None of the teams we may face are measurably better than us. Each game is a self contained unit.

The turnovers are a huge problem obviously. Sometimes you can overcome them. Other times...

I have to admit, this was the most infuriating game I’ve ever watched and I’ve seen some doozies over the years. From the refusal to run in key moments to the 90 bombs in a row to the weirdest time outs at the absolute worst times. This was the most pissed I’ve ever been after a win and it actually took awhile for me to calm down which is not like me at all usually. I’ll take this as the Bills totally over looked the Dolphins and were already onto the Bengals before the game started but I agree only 3 more wins and we got this!

If we are to be really honest, I don’t think we’ve played a complete game on D, O, and ST since week 2.  It is a credit we’ve done so well given that, but I don’t think it will be enough against teams we’d be facing from here on.

Then how did we beat KC at KC? It certainly was enough against them.

Every team we play is going to give their ALL to try to beat us, I said this a while back in some thread or another, “every game is going to be a dog fight”, and we are going to have to dig deep every game,

GO BILLS!!!

The back and forth in this thread captivates me.   I’ve created a key:

If someone says the Bills did not play as well as they can, they did not say the Bills are a terrible football team.

If someone says Miami played well, today, they did not say the Bills can’t play better.

If someone says the Bills put up great offensive numbers, today, they did not say a game against Cincinnati won’t be challenging.

If someone says the defense gave up a manageable number of points and yards, considering the turnovers, they did not say Joe Burrow stinks.

If someone says the NFL sells competition, in the form of football, and has designed roster assembly, salary caps and rules just so anybody can beat anyone, week to week, game to game, they’d be correct.

I feel no better or worse going into next week than I would feel with a 21 point win against the Fins.

Theres a coin out there many of us have latched onto.  Heads says “we barely won cuz we stink.”   Tails says “of course won big cuz they stink.”  The coin lets you be glum regardless of outcome.

Survive and advance.  One down, three to go.

The 1972 Dolphins beat Buffalo by one point in week six before going 17-0.

Imagine the handwringing.

Good point.  We did have a good effort overall against the Chiefs.

It almost depends on how the opponent plays too.  We may indeed look as bad next week but win if opponent looks even worse.  They don't get some auto guarantee they play their a game and we don't.   The game next week will be decided on how players and teams play next week not how they looked this week getting to play next week.

The Bengals still have Eli Apple running around as a starting CB in 2023…

Some of you really need to stop glorifying these other incredibly flawed teams. It’s kind of pathetic. You’ve watched no more than a snapshot thanks to Red Zone TV and now think these teams with very real issues are better for no real reason whatsoever.

Brian Daboll just put in a master class on how to have your team prepared!! Daniel Jones taking that sack and allowing the clock to run as opposed to throwing it away was an example of knowing situational football

Come on man no team has flaws but the Buffalo Bills!!!! Get on board the bad take train.

Oh and the best is the people who post stats then when you post stats to counter their point its..."I don't care about stats its the eye test for me". Even though they initially post stats lol.

Why would they?  What about the games where we looked good-very good- great?  Why wouldn’t they count too?  That’s why none of it matters.  Practice- scheme- kick @$$ on Sunday-

Good teams win ugly. That's the crux of it.  For all of the whining and crying, this is a well balanced and well coached team that does what it takes to win week in, week out.

At no point in this game did it seem like the Bills were in a panic.  They stuck to their game plan and executed it.  Even when the the Phins pulled ahead briefly in the 2nd half, I was not really worried, because on a despite the inopportune turnovers, the Bills consistently looked like the better team.

Not sure I've seen anyone look for style points. Had this been a clean 34-31 game without the usual turnovers, it wouldn't be as worrisome.

But as we've seen ALL YEAR, the Bills turn the ball over a LOT. Pretending that's not a huge red flag, especially against better teams, is silly. Giving a 3rd string, late round rookie 18 points off turnovers isn't a recipe for success.

I've already seen a ton of posts online from Chiefs & Bengals fans saying they're hoping to play the Bills now. What fans say doesn't matter, but it's pretty clear they're not scaring anyone.

All things the same, it all comes down to Josh protecting the football. Everyone else played like they always do. Take away Josh's careless plays and we win by 20. If he plays mistake free next week, we will also win. If he turns the ball over 2+ times, that might be too much to overcome. My hope is that Bal-Cin just keep beating each other down and take a few guys out of the game for next week.

Clean up the turnovers and dumb timeouts and I'm ok.

You're mistaken if you think it's just this week, it's been All season. We're #3 in Turnovers & tied for #2 in Drops this year, & #1 in Both of any team in the playoffs. We got away with it against a 3rd string QB today, but the margin for error is getting smaller & the luck will run out. I've been thinking they'll clean it up & waiting for them to actually do it all year. Not worried about style, more execution & concentration that concerns me. Really hope your right & they finally tighten it up. 🙏

They have no choice but to tighten up or watching the Championship games from a couch.

Lol no mistakes here. I watch every game and see what your saying and know the stats. Today was just a glaring example of all of it in 1 game. Im nervous for the next week no matter who the Bills play. Go Bills!

I’m worried about wins and losses.  We’ve now won 8 in a row while playing terrible football.

maybe Cinci will play poorly next week because they played poorly today.  And didn’t play well the week before.  Or the week before.

I'm curious, which playoff team so far has played perfectly?

It's not about playing "perfectly" though. It's about not repeatedly hurting yourself.

It's why you keep hearing things like "most combined sacks/turnovers in a win since 1970" or "Bills were 0-13 in playoff games with a negative turnover differential"... because winning while coughing up the ball like that is exceedingly rare.

And unfortunately, it's a reoccurring theme with this team that didn't change for the playoffs:

Week 1: 2 x INT's/2 x Fumbles = 4 TO's

Week 2: GOOD

Week 3: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Week 4: 1 x INT/1 x Fumble = 2 TO's

Week 5: 1 x INT/1 x Fumble = 2 TO's

Week 6: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Week 7: BYE

Week 8: 2 x INT's = 2 TO's

Week 9: 2 x INT's = 2 TO's

Week 10: 2 x INT's/2 x Fumbles = 4 TO's

Week 11: GOOD

Week 12: 1 x INT = 1 TO

Week 13: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Week 14: GOOD

Week 15: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Week 16: 2 x INT's/1 x Fumble = 3 TO's

Week 17: CANCELED

Week 18: 1 x INT/2 x Fumbles = 3 TO's

WC: 2 x INT's/1 x Fumble = 3 TO's

So 9 of 17 games we've had 2+ turnovers, with only 3 games having zero turnovers. Compare that to the Bengals who we play next week:

Week 1: 4 x INT's/1 x Fumble = 5 TO's

Week 2: GOOD

Week 3: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Week 4: GOOD

Week 5: 1 x INT = 1 TO

Week 6: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Week 7: GOOD

Week 8: 1 x INT/1 x Fumble = 2 TO's

Week 9: GOOD

Week 10: BYE

Week 11: 2 x INT's = 2 TO's

Week 12: GOOD

Week 13: GOOD

Week 14: 1 INT = 1 TO

Week 15: 1 INT = 1 TO

Week 16: 2 x INTs/1 Fumble = 3 TO's

Week 17: CANCELED

Week 18: 1 x INT = 1 TO

WC: 1 x Fumble = 1 TO

Only 4 of 17 games with 2+ turnovers, and double the amount of games (6) with zero turnovers. Keep in mind this doesn't include the countless additional fumbles we managed to recover, which could've made many games far worse.

Thankfully, the Chiefs are pretty similar to us, with 8 of 17 games having 2+ turnovers, and 4 with zero. We just need to somehow keep it together against Cincinnati first.

Bengals didn’t look so hot tonight lol and the chiefs have been barely beating terrible teams all year so who are they to talk?

Neither of the picks today were really bad decisions imo…looked like brown got lost on the deep throw and the throw to Beasley was at worst a good defensive play and at best pass interference.

I’m on the other side honestly if we had won a clean game 34-31 against the dolphins I’d be a lot more worried
