It seems to me, Thursday night football has become the NFL's worst version of itself. Yeah, the opening, and Thanksgiving Day games are must see, but after that, it's always two teams just trying to survive the cruelty of having to play two games in five days. I think its time to stop the experiment. Amazon actually has put on a great product. From the quality commentary, to the talent on the halftime panel and the awesome graphics/ statistics. I was impressed. But the actual gameplay has been subpar. It's too quick of a turnaround time for a game this demanding.

mjd1001
There have been very few times where I sat down to watch an NFL game anc just stopped watching it because I was so bored. Last night was one of those nights. some will say that when a game is close, at least that adds something to it. I think last nights game might have been the most boring regular season game I have ever started (but not finished) watching. I have faint memories of some Bills-Jets or Bills-Browns games that may rival it, but last night was just bad.

Greg S
That trade for Russell Wilson is looking like it will set the Broncos back years. Low Positive
I posted a video waaaay up thread that argues that Russell Wilson, like Lamar Jackson, needs a specific offense to be successful. H2o
I'm also starting to think Pete Carroll is a genius. I believe he hid Russell Wilson's deficiencies over the last 10 years. Prime example? Look at how things are going in Seattle with Geno Smith running the offense and look at Russ in Denver. Geno is just as good for that team right now as Russ would have been and Russ has been sucking it up in Denver. 3

Lol he really loves Russ That’s a little too much for me. We’re attacking Russell Wilson the person because he’s struggling? I understand it all comes with being a franchise QB in the NFL but I don’t think Wilson missed Hamler because of his off field persona. The media loves to build you up and tear you down. Matt Ryan is also struggling in a new offense. I don’t think the headlines would be the same if the Colts lost.

SoCal Deek
Certainly haven’t read through 45 pages so I apologize if there are already a couple dozen devoted to this but…the NFL should not be playing on Thursday night unless and until both teams are coming off a bye the week before. The product last night was akin to a preseason game. Horrendous! You know it’s bad when even the announcers are openly making fun of the game in real time. You can think so (and I agree with the next week as well) but I think it has a lot to do with the short week, travel, recovery, and lack of preparation. Football isn’t like the other major sports. These teams need more time to plan and recover. I know it’s all about making a buck but the product and brand are suffering. They need to make Thursday night a second half of the season event after teams start having their bye weeks. (My two cents.)

He swapped out the SNF game for TNF. He has chased the dollars and now is saddled with some of the worst football each week. He's off to Chicago for the scintillating matchup of Chi-Was.

They need to make Thursday night a second half of the season event after teams start having their bye weeks. (My two cents.) I think the players unanimously loath Thursday night games. Richie Incognito was "eloquent" on the subject. Micah Hyde commented that he normally doesn't even start feeling good until Thursday. I don't understand why they don't just give TNF to teams coming off a bye, it seems like it ought to be a solvable schedule. However, I'm not sure a bye week for both teams would have saved last night's game. Russ Wilson was throwing late and consistently behind his WR. Matt Ryan was being buried in an orange shroud on every snap and forcing stupid throws just in an attempt to look like he was doing SOMETHING. Which, in the end, he did. I like that Pierce kid. Def. looks worth the 2nd round pick there. Both teams may actually have good defenses, time will tell. Frank Reich looks like he's 75 years old and been living in a Veteran's Home. He's aged like 15 years in the last 2.

I actually miss some of the low scoring games of the 90's that were just awesome defensive matchups. But they usually involved big hits, great pass breakups and tackling. This game had none of that.
