I don't think he showed heart, he was perennially afraid to throw the ball. Some QBs are gunslingers. Tyrod played the game scared. Avoiding turnovers was his #1 priority which is a lame way for a quarterback to approach the game. He had more than a jersey number in common with Trent Edwards. Ryan Fitzpatrick for example was gutsy and a vastly better quarterback.  I remember Tyrod running out of bounds to take a sack for a loss rather than throwing it away because he was so hard-wired to scramble around and stay safe rather than just...throwing...the football. I know teammates liked him but he didn't seem to have much of a leadership presence or aura really. 2 3 1

I will never diss the first Bills QB to break the playoff drought. He gave us some solid if unspectacular performances and was very smart with the football. I was at a home game vs the Raiders under Jack Del Rio where he threw 3 TDs in a very impressive win. He was a good guy who represented us well. Probably the only good legacy from the Rex Ryan days. 4

For the most part, it's been a gadget play here and there.  I do know that against New England last year (2021) and the last game against Miami in 2020, he was pretty much uncoverable.  Last year was also his first year as a returner. So he still has room for growth and improvement.

Grant has crazy vision and he explodes through the middle of coverage teams. I don't see that with McKenzie or Stevenson honestly.  I do think McKenzie has a role as a receiver, and the one thing I will give him is that he is younger than Grant. He seemed to play well in that NE game because they insisted on playing him man with a big slow corner. But he was excellent in that game. The Miami game was a meaningless game. 3 minutes ago, No_Matter_What said: Old/wrong info my friend.  McKenzie actually signed for 4.4/2  https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/isaiah-mckenzie-21914/ Ok that's amazing thanks. Got caught up in baseball free agency, and work lol   McKenzie's contract is about half of Grant's. To paraphrase the old Irish saying, "The Devil you know..." McKenzie has been with the Bills for 3 years. They know him, his character, abilities, and personality. He is a known quantity. He's well-liked and well-respected within the organization. On his only punt return in 2020 he scored an 84 yard TD. I would definitely consider this exploding through the middle of the coverage:    I believe Lil' Dirty has untapped potential as a returner, especially after studying under Andre Roberts. I believe his benching last year was botched by McDermott. Moreover I'm not convinced that Jakeem Grant is a better investment than McKenzie. Especially at twice the cost.
