What does it matter how he beats you?  He still beats you.

He's won 24 games over the last two years.

Allen is a QB who developed into a threat with both his legs and arm.  His arm was already a threat but became better.

LJ is a QB would could beat you with his legs and his arm every now and then.  Nothing has changed with is game.

Probably feels real bad right now to be Josh Rosen.

Per Ninersnation

Josh Rosen $850,000

Rosen is on a one-year deal with zero guaranteed money. If he makes the roster, Rosen's base salary will be $850,000. San Francisco can release the former tenth overall pick of the '18 draft and not suffer any dead money against the salary cap.

We could probably trade for him since he is CLEARLY the most pro-ready QB in that class. Get him on the cheap.

I hope you're correct. Lamar Jackson's style of play (essentially a running back) doesn't translate into longevity.

Apparently he has satisfactory WRs this year so I'm looking forward to Raven fans' excuses next offseason.

Jackson’s style of play is also completely baked into the Raven’s offense at this point, both in playcalling and personnel. Which makes him especially valuable to them.

This organization has morphed into one of the best in the league. From drafting to cap management and everything in between, absolutely top shelf.

Love that this was taken care of and leaves plenty of cash to build around for the duration of the deal.

Its diminishing returns.  Taking more effort to get the same results.  Theres 2 good games of footage from Buffalo alone on how to handle the guy.  Winning 12 reg season games is cool and all, but hes not good enough to win a chip.  When hes no longer on a cheap deal, is that going to get harder or easier to do?

I can’t read 15 pages.
Do we have angry fans over this?

I think it’s a great deal for all. Happy to see Allen’s hard work pay off for him and his family

No one's angry.  Just a lot of quibbling over exactly how awesome it is to have a legit QB all wrapped up for years to come.  😉

The leap in Minnesota got everyone excited and got our attention.

This is still the play that confirmed to me "we got our guy."

I know it's not literally one play that did it, but if you had to ask me which one it's that.

Everything about it tells you why.

The target (our WRs were terrible)

The pressure (worst o line in Bills history)

He takes the hit

He never stopped looking downfield

The Jaguars D was still very good and Ramsey called him trash that week

Same for me. It also demonstrated how quick his release is. He had no business getting that throw off. Phenomenal.

That gives me some faith in our little community on here. I seen 15 pages and immediately thought there’s gonna be some drama

Peripheral damage.

Daboll is likely gone, more so now.

Anybody in the NFL who can turn a "project" QB into this type of contract is going to be gone.

I think we all know Daboll is definitely a goner after this year. My worry though is that he ends up going to Miami and helps Tua

That may be true, Daboll might be gone next year, but honestly I think he's done for Josh all he needed to do.  Thankfully he was given the time (several seasons) to work with him and get him to the point where Josh can take it and run with it now - even if there's a new O coordinator.

We may have, but he just got a lot more expensive.

Well, we still don't have any TEs that can catch, so there's still that bit of drama waiting in the wings....

You could argue its a disservice also.  If the wheels fall off its not a SF or IND situation where, where you only need one new piece.  Youre talking complete overhaul in OC/offense/personnel.  Not friendly

Not worried about that because he only leaves for a HC job and I think Flores has done a pretty good job with what he had to work with and is safe in Miami.

On another line of thinking, it’s a darn good day for his agent! Don’t they get about 4% of the contract? That’s north of $10 mil over time.

If Josh's agent is on the west coast, that means the deal was done around midnight their time.

I think we could have waited, but I am pretty happy with the result. If it's an extension, he should be very affordable for the next few years and we should have a window.

would have cost us more to do the deal next year, most likely.

You might still think that, but that sentiment has changed in Miami.

His first year? Sure. They were tanking and he got the best out of a bad team.

But last year? It can be argued he bungled the QB situation, and then the classic "Win and In" against the Bills backups... and the backups hung 50 on him. YIKES!

He is in full on Prove It mode.

This is the key Im waiting to see confirmed. All reports sound like it's a new deal starting now. Would be kinda bummed about that one small thing, but I'd get over it quick.

PLUS, when you are dealing with that many digits, it’s like Vegas. There are no clocks, only adrenaline. This is the most important deal Beane will likely ever make with the most important guy you ever drafted. This is, in a way, a career defining player and deal for our GM. Josh is our cornerstone.

Absolutely wrong.  All reports it's a 6 year extension after the 5th year option.  ALL reports.

Truth. We’ve watched Allen all this time, odds are very high he hasn’t peaked yet. Never mind the growing rate of contracts paying him more, if he has a monster year he would of gotten 55 per possibly next year. They 100% got it right signing him now
