BruceVilanch
#1 is Davante #2 is Deandre 3. Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills Highest ranking: 2 | Lowest ranking: 8 Age: 27 | Last year's ranking: Honorable mention Some evaluators wondered aloud how Diggs would handle Buffalo, a new offense and a (then) inaccurate quarterback in Josh Allen after the trade from Minnesota. Answer: Like an elite receiver should. Diggs vaulted from fringe top-10 guy to one of the game's best thanks to a truly dominant season. Allen's new BFF led the league in targets (166), catches (127) and receiving yards (1,535). Fantasy Football is Free on ESPN More people play on ESPN than anywhere else. "Smaller guy, more of a slot receiver at the time -- we figured it shouldn't be a problem. We get in the game and he had a pretty damn good day. He's been [great] ever since." Diggs produced 20.3 receptions above expected, per NFL Next Gen Stats, by far the highest clip in the NFL. Though Diggs was unhappy in Minnesota, those who coached him or followed him closely knew he would thrive when made the focal point of a high-level offense. He was a primary option for the Vikings but he shared that role with Adam Thielen. "He's so competitive that his demeanor and ability had the opposite effect that some thought -- he lifted the entire offense up with his standard of play and his ability to get open and make tough catches," an AFC exec said. Added an AFC coordinator: "Practices like every day is a game. He's known for that. Really quick, great route runner, knack for getting open." Reader
Pretty amazing just how well Allen and Diggs work together. Diggs was always great, but I don't think he ever was at this level before getting to have a QB just as determined and competitive as him.

Shaw66
His standards of practice and play and his overall talent lifted the entire offense. That's huge praise for Diggs. Think about that. How many players, other than quarterbacks, can you say that about? JJ Watt, maybe. Who else? They're saying he combines talent and work ethic at the highest levels, and he makes everyone else better. Some have said, and it's probably true, that some, maybe a big piece, of Allen's success last season was attributable to Diggs. Allen had a receiver he always could count on, who always ran the route and always caught the ball. That's a great luxury for a young QB. 3

Dr.Sack
A good QB can make a good WR productive (Jeff Garcia-TO, Coussens-Diggs) / . A great QB can make a good WR great (Young-TO, Allen-Diggs).

Diggs is phenomenal in the locker room and imo adds an intensity to practices that the offense didn't have before. He's not a diva or a distraction, he's just a WR that knows he's great and wants the ball in his hands as often as possible Jefferson had a phenomenal year but let's see him produce year in and year out, not get injured and elevate everyone around him. I would take this trade all day, even if we drafted Jefferson. Diggs is an extremely important piece to this team in general and you can't put a price tag on that

colin
sometimes a trade helps both teams, sometimes a trade hurts both teams. you can argue about who it helped more, but then you having timing involved as well, so maybe it helps the bills more for the first 3 or 4 years and minni more after that, but then you have to evaluate how to discount future vs present day wins, and at the end of the day you really just want to win a chip, so it gets goofy cuz you'd rather win it all this year and stink for a few than be good for like 5 years and win nothing. i can't think of a wr i'd rather have on the bills than diggs

To have a winner there must also be a loser. 1. How does the Vikings cap space have anything to do with the Bills? 2. Locker room presence is a product of team camaraderie. Winning makes players great team locker room guys. Losing? Not so much. Diggs looked quite happy last season. 3. Easy to say after the season is over that Jefferson has the goods. Had they drafted a bust the tune would be different. It worked out for both teams but considering the Vikings were 7-9 and a playoff no show and the Bills were 13-3 and a game away from SB. Well,.....you get the picture of which team did the winning😎 Edited July 15, 2021 by billsbackto81

More like 3 positive returns on the Diggs trade, or 3 things that worked out well enough for the Vikings, but 3 reasons they "won" the trade? Clearing up cap space doesn't mean you beat out the Bills in the trade... Getting a solid replacement WR doesn't mean you beat the production the Bills got out of Diggs, getting rid of someone who doesn't want to be there doesn't mean the Bills lost the trade by getting someone who DOES want to be in Buffalo...

The Vikings given Jefferson’s performance received what they needed not only on cap relief, draft pics, and overall health for their team. Their feelings on Diggs is ridiculous as they don’t want to accept they never handled him well. He should’ve been the key WR as the clear #1, not Thielen and was proven last year. It was Diggs for pick #22 or whatever it was, and by the grace of God Philly picked Jalen Reagor at 21.
