Giuseppe Tognarelli
Any other year, Allen would be MVP. Any other year, Bills would have a bye week. Love everything about this season, but this is weird luck.
Matt_In_NH
I think most don’t view total yards and total tds the way it is sold here. While they all count the same on the field I don’t think they do in the view of media people when comparing qbs. I think 46 passing tds and 0 rushing tds would be viewed as equal to 36 passing/10 rushing for mvp talk.

Doc
I know this is been said before, but Josh was injured for four games during the season. And he also didn’t play 3 quarters of the last two games.

I thought years ago the Transplant was a bit to much of a homer, but I am happy that we got the guy we needed to trigger a true NFL offense at this level. I applaud him for keeping this up - my favorite thread of the year. Edited January 4, 2021 by Rochesterfan

boater
Hate to interrupt all this Josh love (which I agree with)... I thought Matt Barkley's numbers in the second half were pretty impressive. It just comes down to a scary good TEAM.

Sammy Watkins' Rib
Allen keeps improving with every half season split. He's been doing it since he came into the league. I'm actually really interested if a QB has ever improved his passer rating for 5 straight splits since entering the league. He'll have his work cut out for him to start the 2021 season to keep the trend going. 2018- Games 1-6: 61.8 2018- Games 7-12: 72.6 2019- Games 1-8: 82.9 2019- Games 9-15: 88.8 2020- Games 1-8: 102.4 2020- Games 9-16: 111.6

Allen became a superstar this year, but he was never nearly as bad as portrayed nationally in his first 2 years. Just listen to the national media narrative from absolutely everyone... the belief is he was awful his first 2 years when the reality is he was a rookie with an untalented skilled position corps in year 1 (Robert Foster as his #1 WR???), he actually improved dramatically in year 2 but suffered from the highest drop % in the NFL and led his team to a playoff clinching win against the Steelers on SNF and might've had a playoff victory if not for the burden of feeling he needed to carry the team combined with youth... and here we are in year 3. I would also offer that Allen’s OL has been absolutely incredible this year. I thought Allen would be an MVP candidate last year. I was wrong and was obviously a year early, but you certainly saw this as a likelihood in year 2 (and year 1... if you were looking) in terms of Allen becoming a stud. Allen's problems in year 1 and 2 are stats....too many turn overs, especially fumbles and lower completion %. Unfortunately, the only things that are preserved from the past games are the stats and with the internet they are the most easiest to find....People build their own stories based on the stats they collected and are definitely not spending their entire week watching Allens first 30 games of his career. billsfan1959
Even more amazing since he was blitzed more than any other QB this year - 244 times (44% of his attempts). The next closest was Russell Wilson at 205 blitzes. As a side note, Aaron Rogers was blitzed 168 times (32% of his attempts) and Patrick Mahomes was blitzed 140 times (24% of his attempts).
