WTF

Beasely is a TOP slot receiver

I didn’t say it was a bad signing, I just simply said I’ve never been particularly high on him.  My ideal slot WR would have a bit more size to handle going over the middle and making contested grabs... sue me?

Mckenzie has fumbled 8 times in 3 years.  I like his versatility especially on his across the formation motion runs/decoys but that's kind of a problem.

I wasn’t talking about him. I said duke Williams. The CFL prospect we signed

2019 Free Agency Profile: Cole Beasley

Nearing 30 years old, Cole Beasley isn’t going to draw a high-dollar, multi-year deal from any team this offseason, but the team that does invest in him as a short-term solution in the slot will get their money’s worth, surely. He is a sure-handed slot receiver that has proved he can thrive as a high-volume option in an offense.

Beasley can have a positive impact as a No. 2 or even No. 3 option in an offense, especially if given the opportunity to work with a high-end signal-caller.

Beasley has 20 more yards and 4 fewer TDs than Zay last year. This makes zero sense.

Compare the number of snaps played. CB only started 4 games.

CB only 712 snaps to Zay Jones' 941. So he did more with less.

I’d rather have a WR group of 5 guys that can play well, then be trying to force it to a #1 guy. I really like what we have going here. Now I’d say go draft a TE at 9 or move back in round 1 and take a TE and let’s go.

I was just thinking the same thing !!!!!!

I really don't understand the thought process behind Zay being gone. The kid made a big jump from year 1-2, he's young and has shown improvement.

Garbage time specialist.      Stays blanketed when needed.

I love people that aren't happy with these signings because they aren't big name players. Beasley was a first down machine in the slot for Dallas. We need that here.

I'd venture to guess that the people that aren't happy with the signings aren't generally happy about much of anything. Some people just like to wallow in misery and self loathing.

This is the exact start of free agency that I feared.  Morse was a great pick up and Gore was a great value.  These other guys are over paid and mediocre.  I do like that the Bills have front loaded these contracts so that the players become cheap beginning year 3.  I just don't like the players themselves.

I mean - he's got a shot.  He's a big dude, needs to probably play special teams to stick.

if he goes up and makes the snags I saw him making in his reels we wont want him playing special teams.

i'm not saying its a given but the dude was making some beautiful catches.

87 (Beasley) v. 102 (Zay). Not sure how targets play into anything.

Yup i got the same numbers.  More targets means more receptions.  I think this explains the yards difference.  Cole with his catch % would have ~100 yards more than Zay if he was targeted that much.  I pointed to Zeke for the TD difference.

Hope he's bringing his lunch pail and is ready to work.  His odds just got a lot worse.  But hey - being in an NFL camp will help him maybe catch on somewhere else.  He also has PS eligibility.
