Bing Bong
Kroft and Uzomah each got about 6M per. Eifert will certainly get more. I seriously doubt the Bengals TEs were supposed the be the most stacked TE group in the league.. but whatever. Kroft can block well, and we got our safety valve in Beasley in case JA doesn't like using Kroft as his safety pass or the seam routes. I didn't want to invest too much in TE not knowing if JA would utilize it. Their routes and usage are very dependent on QB preference. VW82
Looks like another guy who’s had trouble staying on the field. Individually, all these signings feel super expensive for what we’re getting though I guess that’s just free agency for ya. That said, none of them are cap killers (so far). FA always scares the ***** out of me.

GreggTX
Now draft Irv Smith Jr. in the 2nd and we are all set at TE. Smith played at 'Bama so Daboll would love that pick. Kroft is not known as a strong blocker, but Smith is an exceptional blocker and route runner with soft hands. Doesn't have a 2nd gear, but still can run by LB's well enough. If we took Oliver in the 1st too, it would be a great draft.

interpolitix
What right does anyone have to downplay Kroft’s accomplishments as a receiving TE? There’s a lot of delusion here, and it’s borderline laughable. We all know he caught more TD’s in 2017 than any Bills TE ever caught in a season. And of course, based on many of your posts, he’s a blocking TE. So...he can block, and had what would’ve been one of the greatest season’s by a Bills TE....ever? Seems cool, and cheap, and he chose to come here. You know they have to do that too right? #knowthyself

SmokinES3
Kroft's highlights are impressive. He's big, athletic with quick feet, can run a route without embarrassing himself, and can block reasonably well. Raw talent wise he's the best we've had in years. Watch his 2017 highlight tape on YouTube and then criticize the damn reasonable deal he signed. This is while playing for Lewis and dealing with the red rocket mind you. Of course he isn't Eifert, but he looks promising. Edited March 14, 2019 by SmokinES3

MAJBobby
image: http://walterfootball.com/images/fball/billsb_logo.gif Bills sign TE Tyler Kroft (3 years, $18.75 million): FARMER FAIL, GRIGSON GAFFE, CERRATO SUCKAGE, BAALKE BLOOPER, CHIP TRAGEDY, KING CALAMITY Grade When this first flashed on the screen, I thought it said, "Bills sign TE Tyler Eifert to a 3-year, $18.75 million contract." That would have made more sense. It still would've been an overpay, but Eifert, despite his injury history, has great talent. Kroft, on the other hand? Not so much. He was ranked as a 1.5-star free agent, so like C.J. Uzomah, who was just overpaid by the Bengals, he's an average backup at best. Kroft's best season in the NFL thus far saw him catch 42 passes for 404 yards. He played in only five games last year, hauling in just four receptions. He's also not a very good blocker either. I don't know why teams are being dumb with tight ends. They should not be paid this much. An appropriate 3-year deal for Kroft would be worth $4-5 million; not $18.75 million!
