I like Saffold

but isnt this guy much younger?   And is a VERY good OG.

Is it just me or does this off season have a feel like it could fall out very well for us?   We have 10 draft picks....a ton of cap space....most of our players under contract.....franchise QB has been secured.

10 draft picks is a bit deceiving.  The Bills have 1 pick in each of the first three (money) rounds.  They have an extra pick in round 4 and an extra pick in round 5 and an extra pick later.  Really, unless they can parlay the extra 4th and 5th into an extra 3rd, they are not much more than lottery tickets.

We have been doing pretty well with those lottery picks of late.

Not dismissing those picks, but they are still long-shots to be big contributors.  Yes, Milano looks like he could be a long term contributor, but beyond Milano they’ve selected Peterman, Tanner Vallejo, Taron Johnson, Siran Neal, Wyatt Teller, Ray Ray McCloud and Austin Prohel.

Johnson could be helpful over the next few years and Teller might become a decent starter, but I don’t think anyone is missing Peterman, Vallejo, McCloud or Prohel

When you look at it....it looks very similar to the money rounds

Milano - Stud

Peterman - Dud

Vallejo - started for another team

Siran Neal - jury is out

Wyatt Teller - Starter

McCloud - jury is out

Proehl - dud

I agree that rounds 2&3 are not certainties, but I think you are being generous with saying McCloud is jury out.  I could agree that Neal *might* develop and I don’t expect Vallejo to be a starter for long - I could be wrong, of course.

I would not consider trading the Bills 2nd round pick for a $12M/year OG.  There will be good OL prospects early in round 2 and they will be MUCH cheaper.  Now, for sure, a draft pick won’t have the proven NFL track record that Zeitler has.

I agree maybe a 5th but that contract brings down his trade value.

Heck, let's just get crazy. Sign Zeitler, Paradis, Saffold and Williams LOL. Oh and all at the right price while we're dreaming about it. I'd be delirious and so would Shady. Draft WR in the 1st and a RB in the 2nd or 3rd. Please don't wake me up from this dream before the 13th.

3 years left on his deal.

2019 - $10million

2020 - $10million

2021 - $12million

No dead cap after this year either. The Bills should be all over this, huge upgrade at a relatively reasonable price.

I would give up a mid rounder for him easily as he is a very good player on a contract that is suddenly reasonable for a top guard BUT it gives me pause as to why the Browns would want to trade a top guard when their cap isn't an issue.

Supposedly the Browns want the cap space and to pave the way for their 2nd round guard to take over and use the cap space elsewhere.

If his medicals check out I don't see why he wouldn't be a great pickup.

The thing is Buffalo is dangerously close to the league floor in spending now.

Why not go after FA OL and then go BPA? it seems very logical. Zeitler or Saffold at G, Paradis or Morse at C, D Williams at OT.

Add in a Tate/Crabtree/Stills or Lockett at WR or Jesse Jame/ Uzomah while you are at it? Will still have $ left over and get a good mix of young and older, injury and no injury payers.

Then draft BPA.

Imagine signing Saffold, Morse, D Williams. Ok on OL for 2 yrs. Don't reach on a weak OL class. Take a Crabtree/ Tate for 2-3 yrs. No need to reach on a WR.

If an Ed Oliver falls to 9 you take him. No questions asked. If a Gary, Polite, Ferrell falls move back and draft or take one. If OT Taylor, Little or Ford falls take them or move back.

Buffalo is in a very very special place right now. It's very exciting!

Offer them the 5th (BUF or OAK) and 7th (CAR) extra picks we got from trades.

If not the 4th (KC) and 7th (CAR) for him.

At worst 4th (KC) and 5th (BUF) after that walk.

Zeitler at G is an instant improvement.

so its possible

Dawkins - LT

Saffold - LG

Morse - C

Zeitler - G

Williams - T

ok worth every pick and penny. Pretty sure McCoy would be thrilled.

this is a 2 yr line, have to draft replacements, but.... yeah 2 years.Gives 2 years time.

The Browns gain no cap space for trading him, so it would be stupid to give him away for a 5th and 7th.

His name was floated in a trade for Odell Beckham. That's basically it.

Zeitler is way better and younger than Saffold. Third rounder is the sweet part of the draft where guys that were borderline late 1s and 2s can be had. I hate to give Cleveland that juicy of a pick.

Agreed. He isn't just better. He is significantly better.

It is Milano and then Neal and Teller jury out. The rest are bad. Peterman historically so.

They have found two UDFA starters as well though....

Be still my heart !

Including that particular starting TE  earlier or even early , in the draft would be a serious game changer for the Bills Daboll Allen etc.
I have mentioned before this is where I would spend my money. adding another steady TE in FA as well.

If Browns are parting with him ?  Bills need to be in the bidding game

I like your enthusiasm in this matter. and it could be accomplished.

: )

 Go Beane !

Thanks 3/12.  I am excited for this off season, not that we will win the SB, but we won’t be 31st in offense.  I keep hearing about getting more defensive players, and in a perfect world I understand, but we have to heavily invest in the obvious areas on offense,

We can be competitive this year as we had the second best defense and best pass defense.  I know losing Kyle will, hurt, but if they are not in the field because we’re running great again, that will chew up clock.

If he's really that good, I see no reason for the Browns to want to trade him, regardless of regimes or who they recently drafted. Makes me wonder what we don't know...

Ranked as pff #6 overall guard and #1 pass blocking guard  last season.

Salary is 12 million a year but we a flush with cap space. We should be in on him I hope!

This doesn't make any sense.  They are flush with cap space, too.

I have no idea what their cap situation looks like, but if I've got a guy making $12M a year, and I've just drafted someone who's close to that level at $2M a year, it stands to reason you might explore your options while the young guy is still cheap. Asset management.

They also have another Pro Bowl calibre guard on the roster who will need to get paid (if he isn't already), in Joel Bitonio. Not every GM wants to tie up a ton of money in 2 guards.

They have cap space. Does anybody know how much space they save by trading him? Someone earlier said they don't save any.

Maybe you're right, maybe they aren't shopping him at all. Could be that the Giants want him included in an OBJ deal that's rumored.

We'll probably never know the whole truth, just the outcome.

So far as I can tell, the rumor about shopping this fella is directly tied to the rumor that he is included in a possible deal for OBJ. It's all nebulous, but if the latter is the correct scenario, it's not really true that the Browns are looking to deal Zeitler. He's a possible piece in a chance at a mercurial, but talented wr. He's not actually a potential target for other teams.

McD was spoiled the last two years. time for he and Leslie to  build depth for years to come. Maybe dial in a couple moves. another  young  but solid 3 tech. and perhap a run strong MLB via FA so you can move Edmunds.
But spoil the Offense and Brian Daboll a little. If they could fix the O line  via free agency and top tier spending to and actually solidify that group for 3-4 years ? Do it

and help the TE group immediately with  FA and the draft. I think that makes you a contender and keeps Josh Allen on the Good Foot moving forward.

It is exciting. I suspect Beanes wants to keep it boring though. just his nature ?

Gimme two high level O linemen who will remain steady and solid from day one. and i will be pleased          get 3 and i will dance the Cha Cha and video it .

and we are in agreement. Improve the run game and O Line. Life becomes a bit more fun for Defense.

 win win win

Thats unfortunately sounding about right.

Bills should still chisel at them for Zeitler

Browns have al the leverage though. : (

Beat me to it, haha. And to think yesterday there were crazy rumors that "something huge was happening in Cleveland" and a trade for OBJ was speculated on. Turns out it's an average DE for a slightly above average OG.

Too bad. He would have been our best OL by a mile. I don't see any G's in FA that are in his class either.
