It's a pretty good draft for TEs and he's coming off a core injury, I'd pass. His stats are underwhelming. 350 yds and 3-4 tds per season for 4M?

The current TE's on the team are so underwhelming that they should be looking to draft one AND buy one on the FA market...

Don't think this guy is their man though...

Wouldn't hurt to bring him in to compete. I'd still definitely ( and I'm sure the FO is too) be keeping my eyes open for better options via draft and FA. If he can come in a compete he may surprise, so we'll see I guess. Either way the Bills need TE pretty bad, so got to start somewhere I guess.

I remember back in 2010 when the Patriots drafted Gronk in the 2nd and Hernandez in the 4th.  I thought they were crazy. Who the hell needs two tight ends?  They ended up being dominant.  Imagine if Hernandez wasn’t a dufus and was still playing in New England???

This year’s draft is deep in TE talent and we have 10 draft picks.  A great tight end can be the cornerstone of an entire receiving corps in today’s NFL. Just look at Gronk, Ertz, Kelcy, and Kittle.  I wouldn’t be upset to see the Bills grab two tight ends in the draft this year with a lot of upside.

The 'rather draft one' posts don't make any sense to me, we will have more than one TE on the roster.

Yeah, we need 90 guys going into OTAs. It’s not really one or the other.

I think it’s worth mentioning that Jacksonville is desperate for a TE that can play and they’re cutting him. Granted it makes a ton of sense for them to do so with their cap but yeah, this wouldn’t be all that exciting of a pickup. I wouldn’t blame them for bringing him in though; he at least had the physical tools to be something. Better options out there IMO though.

I think he has had like 5 good games in his career.

He's never had more than 357 yards receiving or 4 TD's.  He had 50 catches last year but a 7.1 YPR.  At best I'd sign him to a minimum contract with no guarantees but I think he's shown what he's worth and it's not much.

Think about who's been throwing him the ball.

I agree that the team needs to address this position either in free agency, the draft or a trade or some combination of those. However, I remain somewhat hopeful and intrigued that Croom can develop into a weapon. When he did flash a couple of times this season he looked pretty imposing. I’m sure someone else has the official data but he seems to have gigantic hands.
