TroutDog
For a guy who just started treatment, this is the best share ever, @YoloinOhio Thank you! EDIT: I should add that there have been some amazing people on this board who have offered to have bone marrow biopsies for me. It’s the definition of class and selflessness and I thank each of you! Bone marrow biopsies are, unequivocally, NO fun and that made the gesture all the more valuable. I say this In thanks, not to hijack the thread. THANK YOU! SinceThe70s
Always good news whether it's Jim Kelly or someone else. Two days ago we learned that the mother of our sons friend underwent a double mastectomy recently. Up next is chemo. Cancer is insidious. 1

As a lung cancer survivor (so far) I want to wish you the best. I'm only 2 years removed from my surgery and a year and a half removed from chemo, so there would not even be a point in my offering to have a bone marrow biopsy. I can't even donate blood. But I wish the best for you and hope you continue to fight the good fight! By the way, before you ask, I am a life long non-smoker. I just happen to be in that unfortunate 20% of lung cancer cases among non-smokers. 1

Two little kids, tough road. Another buddy I used to work with just lost his wife to breast cancer. At least in his case the kids are HS/college age so a little more equipped to deal. Still, he's clearly devastated. Of course, we've seen great people on this board laid low by what cancer has done to their loved ones. One guy in particular. Very happy to read the news on Jimbo. Good luck to you, TroutDog.

I’m sure you will find a match, and not necessarily from where you would expect! My mother in law needed a transplant and my wife & other family were not good candidates for a match. However a completely random person on the registry was a near perfect match! Stay positive & give it hell!

NoHuddleKelly12
Thanks for posting Yolo. Could not be happier for Jim and his family. Cancer is insidious, and doesn't care your age or social standing. Appreciate that Kelly has not forgotten the medical teams that worked with him on his road to this outcome, nor the fellow cancer sufferers he's gone out of his way to meet and lift up (see example vid link below). A true selfless cat, all the best going forward! https://www.buffalobills.com/video/watch-jim-kelly-surprises-patients-at-ecmc Edited January 23, 2019 by NoHuddleKelly12

RobbRiddick
I saw him being interviewed a couple of months ago and hadn't seen him since his surgery. I was actually relieved that he looked so well. I was thinking that maybe his face would be messed up from all the surgeries but to be honest he didn't look (or sound) too different to how he always did. I'd ***** love it if the Bills won the SB and Allen handed the trophy to Jim during the victory parade. Maybe in a couple of years when it's the 30th anniversary of SB XXV 4 hours ago, NoHuddleKelly12 said: Thanks for posting Yolo. Could not be happier for Jim and his family. When you see the footage of him when he was a cocky kid, saying all the stuff about "would you rather be in Houston or Buffalo", then see the way he is now, how much he loves the city he once cried about getting drafted by, and how he's come through all the adversity thrown at him. That young guy playing in the USFL and having fun with the ladies can't possibly have imagined how it would all turn out 1

The Senator
As a cancer patient myself, I’m so happy for Jim. But, you can see how the chemo, the radiation, and multiple surgeries have ravaged his body, and that’s so sad. And now, according to this morning’s Buffalo Snooze,he has to undergo back surgery to remove a cyst from his spine. Geez, I had no idea the poor guy has so much hardware in his neck and back already! . Edited January 27, 2019 by The Senator 1
