NFL draft had Coleman around 35 best player..

And we got him at 33.

Folks on this board will not be happy with anything Beane does.  Coleman is a guy we don't have!  He's not a smurf...and I watch a lot of college football...he's faster on the field than his timed speed.  He will make the contested catches.  He has good release at the LOS.

I just get tired of draft day experts.  Scouts & Beane do this stuff 24x7 - no one here does anywhere near that.

Yup. Agreed entirely. If anyone on this board was as qualified as they need to be to be making such assessment, they would be inside one of these war rooms on draft day, not posting on a message board.

I am not saying it's a bad player or bad pick.  I like Coleman.

But...it's odd AF that you'd move out of 28, with your WR (apparently Coleman is your guy) and expose yourself to the risk of missing out.

IF this was your guy...congrats for the manuevering.

???

I mean, would you have posted this no matter what position and player the Bills drafted?

It's common sense that you move out when you have multiple, I would guess at least 3-4 minimum, guys all ranked equally. Coleman was a guy in that group. He wasn't THE GUY so to speak. Bills were certainly willing to risk someone else picking him and isntead taking McConkey, DeJean or whoever else. It's certainly possible Worthy and Legett were also in that tight group that the Beane valued as the same.

I understand and I’ll be the first to admit I am not qualified to critique their picks, but I can watch games and see that he is almost never open.

“Coleman might lack the athletic traits to be a well-rounded WR2. Instead, keep an eye on him as a big slot receiver who can be a red-zone specialist.” NFL.com

vomit.

slower Gabe with slightly better hands? Beane being to clever by half me thinks.

He better be able to play on the boundary, because Kincaid is our big slot.

I'm a tad nervous because I've been pumping up Coleman as a great pick, and now if he sucks I'm gonna look stupid. But man his size and competitiveness and hands just get me really excited. Allen is a gunslinger. He just got his guy he can launch the ball to downfield 1v1.

Since when do big slowies make plays downfield? All the deep stuff is to FAST guys. All due respect.

I see him as a target when the play breaks down and red zone, Allen hasn't had a tall strong WR, he relies on knox and kincaid for those plays this gives him a new weapon with better hands than Gabe.

I'm not a pro scout but I hit on Metcalf while Beane took Cody Ford ......and I hit on Jefferson over Diggs (watched a lot of LSU football over the years)......And I have Legette and Thomas (could have easily traded up for him) over Coleman. If I am correct with these guys, well I should be hired ..

So, we have the usual "I've watched 10 minutes of youtube on this guy!  He'll be a bust" stuff.

Fans are SO predictable on draft day.  None of you know anything - sorry.

Someone pointed out earlier - the fans wanted Humphrey over Basham, Metcalf over Ford, Lindelbaum over Elam... sometimes there is logic over the madness (less said about Rosen over Allen).

I just looked back at Kelvin Benjamin's scouting report. Guess what his 40 time was? 4.61. Guess what the report said? "Plays faster"

It's a Beane/McD thing. They've been trying to find that big receiver since they came to Buffalo. One epic fail (Benjamin), one moderate success (Gabe). Third time is a Hall of Famer.

I liked Mconkey here.  He seemed like the type of receiver on the opposing team that makes you yell at the tv saying “ How is he always open?!!” Except he could have been playing for our team.

Great player but more similar to Shakir

I really don't know WTH is going on with Beane.  2 trade downs to get a guy that most likely he could have gotten later.

My brother a Vikings fan is asking me WTH?? And I got no answer.

When that must’ve sucked a couple years ago for you.

He’s right!  Coleman never had a QB like he’s getting.  Coleman has a lot of dawg and beast mode in him.

yea, if you were a guy who got separation but didn't have a guy who could get him the ball that would be meaningful.  that's not kelvin, i mean keon.

I mean none of us know how this will pan out but you hand the chiefs Usain Bolt, have 24 hours to come up with your pick or trade, and this guy. We probably could have landed him at 60, or at worst moved to early 50s and gotten a 6th or something. Such a vanilla pick. Beane drafts like he’s on a lifetime contract.

Probably isn’t going to run away from people is EXACTLY what NFL offenses craved…. in 1985.

These dudes are stuck in the Stone Age. Fire em all next year and make Ben Johnson the king.

Josh Allen picked Kenny boi to be OC so yeah maybe he should stick to being a QB

this thread is 90% bs speculation, no one really has a clue how this kid will turn out, I will trust the guy who is gonna be working with him everyday and throwing him the ball

relax...apprently josh's top guy he wanted

that in itself should hold a lot of weight, cuz the team goes with josh, and they compared him to colston n mike williams?? im good with that...

i hope draft picks dont read any of these boards cuz damn....not over the moon with the pick, but if josh really wanted em, i put some faith in our qb as well as the PRO scouts n the sort, over a bunch of armchair gms...lets c him on the field with the pros b4 the sky starts falling
