BILLS55
First paragraph of the article states the teams will have played the previous Saturday giving them 4 days rest. It's the same as playing a Thursday night game, following a Sunday.
uticaclub
It would be nice to have something other than NBA playing in the background at home. It might be fun to schedule a family tailgate, setup a tree, decorate it with beer and soda cans & then set it on fire while you eat your Christmas dinner before you walk in the stadium. NoHuddleKelly12
Not cool, imho. For those of us with young-ish kids (and lots of relatives who don’t watch football), this feels like a trampling on what is supposed to be a special day set aside to focus on what matters most “in real life.” Hopefully it’s not us! 1 1
CowgirlsFan
Terrible just Terrible. This leaves no time for the teams involved to have any form of Christmas with their families 5
ddaryl
I agree with the consensus... This is just stupid. No need for Christmas games heck I think the NFL should shelve Thanksgiving games also. Time for the family for players and fans

That sounds unlikely - so they're moving bye weeks to be that late in the season just to accommodate Christmas Day games?
frostbitmic
They should go full out money making mode and have a couple of games on Tuesday, Christmas Eve as well. There's already Monday and Thursday night games. They could add a Friday night game and play everyday of the week.

Once college football season ends then the NFL schedules games on Saturday's. I would guess the teams that play Saturday Dec 14th will play on Dec 25th instead of Sunday Dec 22th.
Doc Brown
I like it. I want football seven days a week. All in Prime Time on a million different streaming services just so the whining goes to an all time high but the NFL will still pull in massive profits because we will still watch. 1 1 2

Captain Hindsight
I used to enjoy going to the Christmas eve games. Saw a very drunk Santa tell a young Titans fan he wasn't going to his house. If they had a home game on Christmas day, very unlikely I would attend

The other two Saturday games would come out of Sunday schedule flexing thrm. other option is two teams come out of a bye. for example….. bills vs fins on thursday, rams vs Seahawks on Saturday set for 430 pm. They flex a 130 and 8 pm gsme. then it’s bills/fins at Seahawks/ rams for Xmas at 3 pm and 630 pm. Bills snd fins both are on the road at rams snd seahawks. or afc north vs nfc east this year so you could have some combo thurs/ sst pairs playing on Wednesday One week it’s balt vs eagles and pit vs Dallas then other week it’s pit- balt and Phil- dal 53 minutes ago, ALLinALLEN said: Thinking of all the employees that will have to spend xmas at a game...working. Stop watching, then. They are a business. They prioritize making money and providing a product that people want. There is rabid demand for their product. The constant butt-hurt attacks by "fans" like you are really getting nauseating. Go choose another form of entertainment, because you clearly don't like this one.
