Low Positive
The cost to the Packers from a cap standpoint would be huge Quote Rodgers does not have a no trade clause in his contract so he could be traded to a team as well. The timing of the option should give the Packers all the way until the end of training camp to move him. The cap charge here would depend on when he was traded. If Rodgers were to be traded prior to June 1st the Packers would take on a $40,313,750 cap hit in 2023. If he was traded after June 1st it would be a $15,833,570 cap hit in 2023 with $24,480,000 due in 2024. This assumes that the Packers did not exercise the option before the trade. If the option is exercised then the trade number spikes to nearly $100 million. There should be no need to exercise the option until the last possible day. https://overthecap.com/looking-ahead-to-the-packers-options-with-aaron-rodgers

This guy won the last 2 MVPs and you want him in our division with a great defense and amazing young WR's?? Sorry but the Bills are in a worse position to make a SB run next year and I like the idea of our divisional foe trading away future draft capital on a guy who's at the tail end of his career. Also it doesn't matter who our opposing QB is, we've made Mike White and Skyler Thompson look like all pros this season Edited January 24, 2023 by Lost 1 3 8

Logic
The correct thing to root for, with respect to the Jets quarterback situation is this: 3-way battle at training camp. Zach Wilson vs Mike White vs Mason Rudolph for all the marbles. THAT's what I'm rooting for. 6 2

Gregg
The Jets have a good defense and some pieces on offense. Hope this doesn't happen as they will be a big problem for the rest of the division. 1

Give him Wilson and Davis and Mims and Moore and watch out. Not to mention that defense that has a lot of young talent. That's a good team minus a QB. Even with someone like Derek Carr they would probably be a playoff team that could beat a lot of people 1 1

I'm saying the Bills, based on how this season ended will need a year or two to really reset and get pieces in place. The Jets absolutely nailed their draft last year with Wilson Gardner and Hall. Based on how they have been drafting compared to us, our best hope is to maybe take a beating from them next year while they bet the franchine on a declining vet QB by giving away premium picks. BuffaloBillsGospel2014
The Jets would be roughly 44 million over the cap with this move so I'd 100% be for this, yeah there are ways of manipulating it like we've done but they'd most definitely be cutting at least 2 of their top players like Mosley.

dorquemada
Yeah Bills go from a cakewalk in AFCE to being no better than 50/50 to repeat If Rogers goes to NYJ, and Brady to Miami, the Bills are going to have to be better than they were this year. And of course the Wilson and Watson trades have been nothing short of a catastrophe for their teams. And the Rams look like they might be the worst team in the league next year, and for years to come.
billsfan714
Manning superbowl with the Broncos....Brady superbowl with Tampa. Governor
I would do it. Draft more OL and maybe 1 more WR and they’ll take the division from us immediately. The defense is ready right now. FTR, I hate Aaron Rodgers
SirAndrew
Maybe we need a more competitive division. It might good for our defense to get exposed as a fraud during the regular season. We might see change that’s actually needed. They get to skate by compiling elite stats while beating up Mac Jones and Mike White.
