The Jests; from 7-4 to 7-9. An epic collapse

The GangGreen is a five alarm fire right now. They want to fire the owner, fire the GM, fire the coach, fire half the players, fire the ball boy.  One poster said the Jests can't even draft QBs right and they lost two draft picks because of it.

The entire Jests Nation is on tilt.  They're wearing white after Labor Day and combining plaids and stripes.  They're fighting a land war in Asia.  They're taking wooden nickels.  They're crying over spilt milk.  They're cutting tags off mattresses. They're starving a cold and stuffing a fever.  They're paying $20,000 for Taylor Swift tickets.  They're eating gas station sushi.  They're running with scissors.  They're smoking with their oxygen on.  One of them just killed John Wick's dog.

It's Biblical.

Don't take my word for it.....

They have a ton of talent on both sides. If that team gets a QB, they will easily stay past the Pats for many years and could rival Miami. Maybe they just arm themselves with Jimmy G or Carr and take a shot it works out next year.

They have talent on D, but they DO NOT have a lot of talent on offense.

Their only WR that scares anyone is a rookie, the only RB that scares anyone has been injured since October, they have no QB and their OL stinks.

They are still light years away from challenging the Bills in any capacity.

I'd have to disagree on the Jets' offensive talent statement.

I like Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and Zonovan Knight at RB, Elijah Moore and Corey Davis (behind Garrett Wilson) at WR, I like Tyler Conklin and Uzomah at TE, and they have several legit offensive linemen (Brown, Tomlinson, Fant) plus Alijah Vera-Tucker is looking very good and I have not written off Mekhi Becton either.

All the Jets need is a QB.

By the time they find a qb though all those guys they drafted early by being so bad for so long will need new contracts.  They’re gonna get caught in that mediocre team area for a long time imo

I bet Saleh might be out of there. Didn’t he hand pick LaFleur to be apart of his coaching staff?

Yeah but I can’t see Saleh going anywhere. He’s done a solid job… he’ll sacrifice the OC… not that he’s done much of note to retain his job.

No top tier QB is going to play for that dysfunctional franchise. Like the Browns, the jets is the place where QBS careers never take off and eventually die because of how bad the organization is.

If they get Derek Carr they'll be a tough foe next year.

I'm not sure how much you follow the Jets, but Saleh will absolutely put up with it.

Say more about this, because I have the impression that Saleh is a man of pretty deep integrity and would have sorted this kind of thing before he signed on.

I could be totally wrong of course

Do you really trust Derek Carr as a starting QB?  He can play brilliantly but he can also play ….um, not brilliantly

It's great because the Dolphins have had their own epic collapse, also losing 5 in a row to go from 8 - 3 to 8 - 8.   I think the Dolphins collapse is even worse b/c there plenty of people saying they would overtake the Bills and win the division.     Don't think any reasonable person was picking the Jets to win hte division.

Funny thing is that 1 of them is going to win next week.

Yes. He played consistent quality football for years despite playing for a weird franchise, until they hired McDaniels.

He's been in the WCO his whole career, they hired McDaniels and had him learn the Erhardt-Perkins system and playcalling language. Get him away from the mercurial McDaniels and back into the WCO and there is every reason to expect high-level play.

Saleh cares a lot about his image. He gets upset by fan/media comments and changes the way he does things because of it. Statements like, "We'll see them again in the playoffs." and "I'm keeping receipts" are 'fake tough guy' acts. The whole running the stairs before games stuff. It's all a big act. He'll take orders and change coordinators if he's told to do so like he's been doing at QB. Jets fan liken him to Todd Bowles.

Now, my view is that while it may discussed he won't be asked to change coordinators by Douglas or Woody.

OK, fair POV

He wouldn’t be the first QB whose performance was significantly downgraded by contact with McDaniels

This isn't a normal HC - OC sacrifice though. They are really tight. Matt LaFleur was the best man at Saleh's wedding. Mike obviously is the brother, he goes back years with them.

I actually think there is a case for an OC change, but equally - no QB, Hall, Becton and AVT all down. It's a tough gig.

As a starting QB? Absolutely. As a guy who can get you to the playoffs with that defense and some semi decent weapons? 100%. As a guy who can win them a Superbowl? No, maybe not. But at the moment Carr feels the logical fit in New York rather than spinning the rookie wheel again.

Yeah, I actually had to go look because I thought people would blame that 5 game losing streak on playing without Tua.

But 4 of the 5 losses were 100% Tua.

Nah. If they get a legit QB they will be a bigger issue than they already are.  There’s the coming draft and Free agency too; the Bills might lose Poyer and Edmunds and others.    Don’t play the Jets cheap.  Decent QB play can get them in the mix.

It would be very jets like to have the owner interfere in the middle of their rebuild that seems to be going in the right direction lol

Im torn. As a football fan, its frustrating to see stupidity on that level (Texans Bill O'Brien). As a Bills fan, itd be funny and solidify another 3 years of breezing to AFCE Champs

Key difference is that when they were 7-4 and 8-3, both teams played an easy schedule.  When they started playing tough teams, they got exposed.

It sounds good but just remember one thing..........they're the Jets.
