At the end of the standings I picture this: Buffalo, NY Jets and New England all make it to the playoffs final standings Buffalo 14-3 ( 4-2 against the division ) NY Jets 12-5 ( 3-3 against the division ) New England 11-6 ( 3-3 against the division ) Miami 8-9 ( 2-4 against the division ) Also Which division is better the ACF East or the NFC East ? We got really screwed on that Jags loss last year and in the back of my mind I keep wondering which team could do that to us again. Divisional opponents could, Patriots are getting on a roll having won 2 in a row, Jets have won 3 in a row, . Vikings are 5-1. I think we've faced our toughest opponent already in KC, but I don't like that short week against the Lions. Even though they have good WR's, Mr. Milf man hasn't shown he can throw the ball well on a consistent basis. Their defense is legit though. The Pats are a solid team and with Bill they are dangerous. But the Bills are better and Allen seems to have NE's number. See last years games vs them as a reminder. The fish have no QB and they barely beat the Bills who were playing a lot of backups that day. The rematch in Buffalo where it won't be 100 degrees out against a healthy ( hopefully) Bills team will be a different story. Since we already lost to Miami I'm expecting a loss somewhere along the way vs. NYJ or NE. The defense is playing the way Saleh wants, but we know what Josh did to Saleh's defense in SF. Their offense is definitely a WIP -- it's basically run the ball and don't eff it up. That won't get it done against teams who can actually score. The Browns inexplicably gave them a W. The Fish played their Super Bowl in W3 and are done. The Packers gifted them a TD and allowed a big run. I'm not saying they aren't playing hard, and they have a lot of good, young draft picks -- but they aren't winning 12 games. The Jets are at Denver next week and that's pretty much a must-win for the Broncos, who DO have a great defense. Then they play the Pats*** twice in three games, with the Bills in-between. I wouldn't expect the Bills to lose any more division games. However, AFC East is the only division where every team is .500 or better. That gives us a mini-bye before going to New England. With numerous injuries the Bills beat the defending super bowl champs, Ravens, the Titans-top AFC seen 9 months earlier, and just defeated perennial juggernaut Chiefs. They barely lost to the Dolphins. If Josh wasn’t running on fumes in that heat, he completes the pass to McKenzie and Bills win. Unless Josh goes down, I don’t have any worries regarding remaining opponents. The AFC North could get a WC, but as of now all of those teams look middling and they will beat each other up. The AFC West was overinflated. Chargers/ Chiefs out of that division. They aren't losing to any of these teams, but the Jets and Pats will not go down easily. I think the Jets or the Pats make the playoffs, but not both. My money is on the Jets going 11-6. I see them losing to the Bills 2x, the Vikings, and the Jaguars or Pats. The Jets and the Jaguars are going to be very tough down the stretch. Getting the #1 seed is huge for Buffalo. We really don't want to have to play a team like the Jets or Jaguars, then the Bengals or Chargers, before having to head to Kansas City. Teams like the Jets and Jaguars can beat you up pretty good. Because we are elite and the rest of the division is only just decent to good. They will beat each other up all season and we will end up going 5-1 or 4-2. anyone can look at what these teams are doing now and say what they think they will finish with. But fail to think about them playing each other and how it will play out. There’s no way both the jets and pats will end up with over 11 wins considering they play each other and the rest of the division. Like someone already posted, the thought of the Jets only losing 2 more games is absurd. Not sure who yet. Everyone thought the AFC was stacked but through 6 games it looks like the AFC has two dominant teams and then a bunch of average teams. The wildcard teams will be second place team in AFC West most likely Chargers and North, probably Baltimore. Denver is toast and so too is probably Las Vegas. Then you have the AFC South where as bad as they are, I think Tenn and Colts probably both make it perhaps with identical 10-7 records. I'm skeptical that Miami, NE, or NYJ can get to 10 wins. Jets are a young upstart team but I still don't trust MILF boy, but that defense will be a problem regardless. Also who have they beat of note other than a GB team that may very well be a non playoff squad this year. Last second wins against a bad Browns and Steelers team do nothing for me. And they beat the dolphins with their 3rd string QB in a game that was actually also close in the 4th quarter before wheels came off. Dolphins should be fine once Tua is back, but the Pats are a team to keep a close eye on right now as they are starting to fire on all cylinders again like last year when they were also 1-3 and left for dead. They beat the Browns by 1 point in a miracle game where it only happened because Chubb wants to pad his stats more than he wants wins. They beat a terrible Steelers team when they benched Trubisky at the half on the last play of the game. They beat a Dolphins team playing their 3rd string rookie in his first NFL game with no game prep and they beat a GB team that looks decidedly average at best. That was their best win. I'm not sure how that gets them to 5th best team in the AFC. Or maybe that just says how bad the AFC is compared to what we thought it would be.
