Patriots LT Isaiah Wynn is OUT vs Bills

Recommended Posts

Patriots left tackle Isaiah Wynn has been downgraded to out vs the Bills. He injured his knee and ankle last week vs the Dolphins. Justin Herron will be his replacement.

The Patriots listed 13 players as questionable in order to keep the Bills guessing, but most if not all of the others will be active on Saturday. All 12 other players listed as questionable made the trip to Buffalo.

UPDATE: CB Jalen Mills may also out pending test results (covid list)

Mills is also out after not being activated by 4pm today

Add some extra homework for Billy B and his coordinators Josh and Jerod.  Mills absence probably bigger of the 2 and guess that Dugger has to suit up now and play one handed.

Putting Herron in lets them still use Ononwe as the 6th Olineman on either side fior their jumbo package for running downs

Is Herron any good?

Or just move him when they bring in Ononwe

They prefer to use Onwenu as the move Extra OL to create strong side.  He is a beast as a run blocker and really helped them get to the outside on sweeps and tosses the last game when we stuffed the middle runs.

The biggest question mark is Christian Barmore.  He was limited in practice but didn’t do anything when the media was there.  He couldn’t put any weight on his leg last Sunday.  If he’s active, it makes you wonder how much he’ll play and how effective he will be.  There’s no way he isn’t hobbled by what happened last week

I’ve also heard they may start start Ononwe and flip Trent Brown.  This lets them keep the best 5 on the field.  Herron was not good last week

Mills being out is a very big deal for them.

In the Wild Card Game thread, someone tweeted a correction to Sal C. Seems as if the Cheaters may have until 4 PM tomorrow with regards to Mills, so I am not certain that he is indeed out.

Yeah but none of them are as good at LT as Wynn.

Sal confirmed on Twitter that he had checked with a league source on the deadlines. So yes, he is indeed out.

I am never one to root for injury and I did not root for injury prior to seeing the injury report.

But .... FU*K, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gabriel.Davis.  He probably was already a mismatch for Mills.  Now he’ll be defended by JoeJuan Williams, who I understand is that great.

I don’t think they like to play JoJuan on the outside at all. They tried that in the last game and Allen targeted him immediately and diggs almost had a TD. I think they may use one of those PS corners they called up on the outside. Dugger playing with a hand injury might be impactful too if he can’t tackle as well

Wynn is a big time loss but would still be concerned with the Pats ability to run the ball and Belichik knows the best strategy to win this game keep Allen and the Bills offense off the field with long sustained drives similar to to the first matchup.

So like much of the first 2 games they will be terrible on 3 rd down.  The smartest mind in football is about to lose run, run, pass punt.  The Patriots play right into McDermott's scheme.  Force the run on first and second down.  Get to 3 rd and 7 plus.
