Just in Atlanta
Guy dried up after holding out in Pittsburgh. Was the best back in the league until his own actions ruined him. NFL tenure of a running back is 2.5 years. And so much is dependent on situation. 1

If he stayed in Pitt and played behind a quality line he would have been still productive. But he is RB and would have likely been spent by now regardless.
Utah John
Bell is done. You could see his inability to run with power, make good cuts, or make quick decisions, on the few carries he's had the past few games. He had a great career but screwed himself up completely with his holdout. Should have been a Hall of Famer but now is just another retired guy.

How can anyone at all say he still has any value. After the Jets cut him - he went to one of the best offenses in the NFL in KC and sucked. He was beaten out by an UDFA RB and way out performed and then complained about how he was treated by a coach known for giving second chances. This year he was signed to the top rushing team in the NFL in Baltimore - every back they seem to bring in or use averages close to 5 yards - except Bell. What you saw in NY, KC, and Baltimore is who he is - he is not a complimentary piece - he is a waste of space. 3 teams with plenty of production from replacement level backs and no production from Bell - he isn’t worth the space on the roster even if free. You are better with a back off a practice squad or out of the league. 2
Alphadawg7
Oh gawd, please no "lets sign him BS"! He has nothing to offer. Lets recap his tenure since he last played a snap with Pitt. 1. Gives up a huge amount of money by sitting out a year to end up with a smaller contract than he would have gotten had he just stayed in Pitt and resigned. 2. Jets pay him a butt load...despite the money invested, they feel they are a better team WITHOUT him and cut him even though they badly needed a RB. 3. KC gets him for nothing, badly needed RB help...and still despite costing them barely anything, he wasn't valuable enough to keep around. 4. Ravens take a chance on him, costing them practically nothing...and despite BADLY needing help at RB dont feel he is worth keeping on the roster even though he costs them very little to have around. Seriously, what could he offer anyone at this point? Disaster at the Jets and shown to be of little value to two well coached and top flight franchises in KC and Balt even though he cost them nothing. There is no possible chance he could come here and take any playing time from Moss, Devin or even Brieda at this point. He sucks and is done. 1

Bell has 1 catch for -1 yard on the season and he is known as a terrible blocker and blitz pick-up. He is not on par with Moss or Singletary - on a better rushing team he is significantly worse. I was not suggesting you thought he might sign here - just that he has value - he has absolutely no value in the NFL. Even his 11 for 48 against Minnesota was below their average. Last week against Miami he had 3 carries for 1 whole yard. I just do not see him as on par with any back in the league. He is Reggie Bush in Buffalo at the end - one of the worst backs in the NFL right now.

On a top end rushing team - Bell is averaging 2.7 YPC and has 1 catch for -1 yards. He also can not block or pick up blitzes. Bell is no longer even in the same ball park as Moss and is probably at this point one of the 4 or 5 worst RBs in the NFL. 3 teams in the last 1.5 years - multiple ugly divorces from teams and no production at any place he has been. He has been replaced in both spots by UDFA RBs on the roster. Moss is not great, but still significantly better than Bell at this point.

Moss is still young so there is still room to improve but as of right now I don’t see a significant upgrade from Bell to Moss. I feel like Moss is slightly better than Bell. Moss hasn’t really shown that much, he is a career backup up RB that is average at Catching, Blocking and Running.
