What time will our pick actually occur? 11pm?

Something like that, or later, being the draft starts a 8pm iirc..., 😁

The Broncos will not draft a QB day 1.  (BOLD)

New England will not draft a QB day 1. (BOLD)

The Jets and Steelers both take RB in round 1. (NOT BOLD)

The Bills stay at 30 and take EDGE Ronnie Perkins. (GROSS)

2. Asante Samuel Jr will be drafted way higher than most mocks and analysts have him going — possibly by the Bills, whose head coach coached Samuel’s father during his prime.

I could totally see this. If there is no pass rusher available, why not add an elite corner opposite of Tre? This would totally help our defense. Wouldn’t mind this one bit.

Question is whether Samuel can really play outside at his size or is he slot-corner only?  If they believe he is a slot-only, I don’t think there is a chance that they’d take him in round 1.

Is this the illegitimate love child of DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins?

Bold Prediction: Not one Bills fan will get upset at Buffalo's first selection. Not only is it bold, it's completely unrealistic and as bad as at least half of the 'bold' predictions in this thread.

(There is a difference between bold and completely ridiculous)

The next time ANY fanbase is in total agreement with the player the team picks in round 1 will be the first time.   Yes, even Manning and Luck had detractors.

For some reason there are still a few painfully ignorant Bills fans out there who think this is just a Bills-fan phenomena.

He’s the same size as his dad and his dad was an elite corner who was coached by McD oddly enough. Huge upgrade over Levi and keep in mind this guy will be going up against teams second best WR. I love his pedigree and I love that he’s had elite coaching throughout his youth. If we can’t add an impactful DE at 30, I think you have to go corner. It’s extremely scary for most QBs when both their first and second options are covered while we also have Milano on their TE. That should lead to coverage sacks.

I can see this. And the narrative is Belichick intentionally waited for the 2021 class to get his guy (sort of like how we passed on 2017 for 2018) instead of settling for someone in 2020 draft.

Which would be insane because Mac  barely played in 2019.

I think that there is a reasonable chance that Samuel will be available at the Bills’ 2nd pick.

Bills trade way back in 2nd round (bottom 1/3 of round) and pick up another 3rd, plus 4th.  They package the 4th with their 5ths to move up to 3rd round.  So they end up with 2 seconds and 2 thirds

Bills trade up & grab Micah Parsons, LB Penn St.
Go Bills!!!!!

I'm hoping the Beane takes the patient approach and either picks at 30 or trades down. Like you,  I predict that he trades up with Indy at 21 giving away at least our 3rd rounders this year and next. Indy really values picks on day 2 and they currently have no 3rd rounder. Indy will pick a left OT with their first pick, Dillon Radunz.

That's my bold prediction.

Because he’s not elite?

Personally, I believe Samuel can play outside. He is the exact same height and weight as his father. Further, his versatility to play inside or outside will appeal to the Bills, who love positional versatility.

Both Rousseau and Phillips won't be picked in the first round.

I have Rousseau going into round 2 as well. Phillips I could see because of Medicals but I doubt it

Bills trade down and somehow end up with Boogie Basham, Rondale Moore and Asante Samuel Jr. 🥳

and

Washington football team trades up into top 10 to grab the last of the big 5 QBs

Not sure what folks’ obsession is with Basham but that’s 2 very meh prospects and an undersized gadget player with injury questions. I’d be far from thrilled with this outcome...

Edmunds is a 22 year old two time Pro Bowler who calls defensive plays, normally has only one other linebacker companion, played behind a DL with no 1T, with and injured shoulder for most of the year.  You want to replace him with a rookie who has character issues and evidently feel that’s an easy improvement for our defense.  You’ll throw in our 1 with him.  But that’s not bashing.  Got it.

I get that you disagree and that's your right. I will try to provide some rationale for my controversial trade:

- We traded up from 22 to 16 to get Edmunds. Which in essence means that he cost something closer to a pick 14.

- He showed flashes in his first two seasons which were encouraging for an under-aged LB. But in his 3rd season he failed to take any game by the scruff of the neck anf his highlight reel was thin. Against top opposition he was often made to look second-rate. Remember - he is the supposed "QB of our defence". Granted, he may have had a niggling injury, but I am looking at a 3 year body of work. So I stand by my assessment that he has been underwhelming.

- Micah Parsons may well have some "red flags", but I would be fairly confident that McD and Frazier could sort that out.

- He ran a 4.38 at his pro-day. When he tackles he launches like an exocet missile and hits like he wants to break you in half. He has the mean streak this defence needs to send a message to KC. That is what I believe we need at linebacker - not the deer in the headlights version we have wearing no. 49

Agree on Basham. If he ends up as the Bills' choice at Edge, the draft fell horribly wrong for them.

Agreed, Logic. I also think he offers versatility and the ability to play outside. I won't be thrilled if they take him at #30 but won't be completely crushed either. He feels like a much better Round 2 value/selection but we all know how wonky and unpredictable the draft can be.

The Dolphins will trade down from 6 to 18 then back up to 10, but having made so many trades, they will get confused and forget to pick someone.

Chris Grier:  "I know he's only a part timer we hired for this draft, but are you sure this Nix guy knows what he's doing?"
