SydneyBillsFan
He comes across as a great team guy and at worst is a good back-up centre and guard. He got pushed around a bit by the Chiefs DL but I still think he is good enough moving forward. I am glad he stayed in Buffalo.
BarleyNY
Nice. That’s starter money so 4/5 of the line is set. Guessing Ford and Boettger will be battling for that last OG spot. Maybe throw in a draft pick too. We could still use a swing tackle but I expect that will come later in FA.

I think many people thought he'd let those players walk to improve pass rush, TE, and CB. Now is the hard part. How does he make the team better? That's going to take some cap manipulation.

billsfan89
Solid deal, a little more than Spain got. The Bills managed to resign all 3 key starters to reasonable deals. Good start to the off-season. Now the team has to at least try to sign a few of the role players. Roberts and or Mac is a big one as the return game and speed to the offense is needed, Ty I think is underrated as he is a quality depth swing tackle and T.Jones is a ST ace. Also the restricted guys are key, Ike, Bojo and Wallace are all key players need to keep them in the fold. Ideally I would hope to see Ty, Roberts or Mac, T.Jones and all three restricted guys brought back. And maybe if the cap permits they sign a vet D-line player to add to the rotation as a reclamation project. They then can spend pick 30 on a pass catcher or pass rusher to get that last piece needed.
Mat68
Kept the line together, thats a big deal. Milano is a big part of the defense. No glaring needs. Just find guys that make the team better.

As much as I would like to see Ty back I don't think they are able to bring him back and I think they want to maintain the depth along the O-line. Right now assuming they resign Ike they have Ike/Ford (whomever doesn't win the LG spot) and Bates as depth along the O-line. They need a swing tackle if Ty isn't brought back. Round 1 and 2 I think they target a pass rusher and a pass catcher or corner so they dip into O-line depth in round 3 in a supposedly deep O-line class.

What more can Beane pull out of his ass? Right? I was hoping we’d bolster the OL and not keep it as is, but I’m happy that we won’t be rolling out a rookie to protect JA. They did a fine job pass blocking (until the biggest game of the year, where they all got clobbered). I don’t love Feliciano but I do like him due to his ability to start at RG and also Center. That said, we better give that man some hell when he lines up against Chris Jones. He was embarrassing Looks like our run game personnel will be the same as last year. Let’s hope Daboll can work some magic with our running game. Maybe we will spend a 1-3 rd pick on a RB if the OL is going to be the same. Going into next season with the same OL and the same RBs would be a mistake imo. Possibly a TE addition that will allow us to run 2TE sets and be more multidimensional? The only thing I know: I’m gonna be pissed if we can’t count on our run game again and teams dime us to death on D. Opposing DCs taking away our one dimension solely because we aren’t a threat to run the ball. Ending our season in the same way 2 years in a row would suck. Magox
Some are dismissing what Beane has done to keep the team in tact as the "easy part". None of it is easy, like in just about everything sales is involved. I said about a month ago that Beane would have a really good story to tell when it came time to contracts and negotiations and I'd say based off what he's done so far, that story is being told really well. These players are players that are contributing to the success of this team and truth be told, they are at really good team friendly rates. I suppose in the coming week we'll hear about some restructuring to free up some cap space and the Bills will look to pick up two D-lineman in FA.
transplantbillsfan
But I kept hearing that Milano, Williams and Feliciano were all leaving... so that was incorrect? Guess Beane pulled another rabbit out of his hat. And I guess he believes culture building and continuity with the right people is more important than playing Madden in Free Agency. 3

If the Bills want to improve the running game they'll draft a RB with speed and vision. 5

That's going to take some cap manipulation. He cut Brown/Jefferson and got Butler/Addison to take pay cuts. The COVID FA could’ve helped, but he got all 3 of our big name FA’s to sign with us long term with fair market value contracts. I think it’s a bit dismissive to be flippant about this offseason so far. Agreed on your last part, even if it’s just via draft, we haven’t exactly gotten better yet.... although continuity and experience is a huge plus for us going into next year. I would hope that Beane/McDermott sat down with Daboll and discussed the feasibility of fixing the run game with the exact same OL... and the answer was yes it’s possible. Otherwise I think they would have made adjustments. They already have the pass game worked out at a very high level... they can skew the amount of time they spend in camp implementing better run concepts. That’s just a guess on my end... but feels like how they would handle this.
