Week 14 SNF: Bills Whoop Steelers PostGame Thread

Recommended Posts

For all the 80s kids like me, I am wondering which historic Bills team they remind me of 1988 or 1990?  I am thinking 1988 and they will fall to KC in KC for the AFC championship (anything is possible,  includinga Bills win). If so, then we can skip 1989 as these Bills do not bicker. And go straight to 1990 and the first SB run!

Allen 70% completion % in 2nd half....

So several in national media now say about Allen in regards to his completion % he has to prove that he can consistently do it.

Now on the season he is at 68.6%.

If you are at 69% over 13 games and 471 passes, how many more games and passes does he have to throw to reach "consistency"?

471 passes is a pretty good sample size.

What we saw from Allen tonight looked a lot like what we've seen from Mahomes, Watson, Brees & Rogers over the last couple of years.  You're watching the game and those guys start slowly throw a pick or two and then suddenly a switch goes off and they can't miss a pass.

Allen completed 11 straight passes and thew 2 TD passes in back to back drives that basically put the game out of reach.  This is what Kelly would do back in the day after a slow start.  We are seeing something special blossom in Buffalo.

exactly. Just a slap in the face. Seeing Tom Brady all giddy was not a pleasant sight to any bills (or Steelers) fan watching tonight.

To be fair the sound bite was on the last time there was a SNF game IN Buffalo. It's fine, they now have new footage when they put next year's BUF/PITT game in Buffalo on SNF again.

No one cared when the Bills had that problem earlier in the year

But we surely complained about it.

their injuries are huge and most definitely played a role in our win.  Luckily for us, it doesn’t matter.

That delayed slip/screen pass (whatever it was) to Knox was an amazing call by Daboll.  Great game by our defense.  Our secondary was fantastic.

Love Daboll (went to HS with him) but that had nothing to do with him, everything on Allen.  He saw the corner blitzing of his right side and Knox slid out (didn't stay in and block). Josh made the perfect read - throw where the 2ndary blitz is coming from.

431... that’s how many ticks were left on the clock when Levi got the pick.

7 minutes, 11 seconds....

Our 4 minute drill has not been good this year, and we went out and did an 8 minute drill against that defense. Amazing.

One is the most impressive parts of the W for me.

Thank goodness Williamson revealed our tendencies so the Steelers could get the same results as the Jets.

Tendency to kick yo a$$?

Me too, just run out that clock and suck any chance of a moral victory away from the other team. Good hard running over that time and a great naked bootleg by Allen for a fresh set of downs. Allen looked like a little kid having fun on that slide too, as he slid for about 10 yards and seemed to enjoy it.

Wow, he just can’t admit it!

What an agenda. It wasn’t his best game but he played well.

At this point he's embracing the hate at himself and getting follows because of it.

Mahomes was the worse of the two today. He'll never admit it because he thinks baker is better than Allen so he's just spewing his own bias at this point.

What a Dbag.  Josh was bad in the first half, but Pittsburgh is the #1 d in the league for a reason and has made a lot of qbs look bad.  3 things about Josh:

(1) he has a short memory

(2) he has ice water in his veins.  In crucial moments he always comes up big

(3) he's my G*ddam QB!!

Yup, he’s awesome. So glad that he is ours. And, he’s only just beginning.

Great teams get the ball with the lead midway through the fourth quarter and never give it back.  Jim Kelly used to do that all the time.  Six minutes left?  Our ball?  It’s over.

That 7:11 drive was masterful.

Bills look like Super Bowl contenders in win over Steelers

This is the type of performance the Bills have been waiting for against one of the best teams in the AFC. The Bills came out and dominated the second half. Josh Allen brought himself back after a slow start and the defense forced huge turnovers. We’ve been waiting to see a sign that this Bills team could contend for a Super Bowl this year. I believe they provided that answer this evening. — Joe Buscaglia

I wouldn't say it has 'nothing' to do with Daboll. The TE looks for the blitzer, sees 2 guys so instead of trying to block 2 goes out for the pass. He didn't just decide to do that all on his own. That's part of the design of the offense.
