  1. IMO, about the only thing that would be "fair" would be playing extra quarters until there's a winner. Maybe keep the current structure for regular season and do it different for the playoffs, similar to the NHL. Personally, I don't have a big problem with the current set up. If you can't get the job done in 60 minutes then you're potentially leaving your fate up to a coin toss. With that said, I was rooting for you guys. Was sad to see you borrowed our defense for this game.
  2. Cleveland back to being Cleveland. 🤣 Hopefully.
  3. If you want your season to end like the Steelers' season last year, absolutely. He's mobile enough to hold it longer to let the receivers get open and deeper. He should continue to get better at knowing when to get rid of it quicker. He was only sacked 3 times on 52 attempts behind a line that was getting dominated. Ben probably would have been sacked 6-8 times even with a quick release the way the Bills O-line was getting pushed around. Even with the Steelers inexperienced O-line, they'd probably be SB favorites with a QB like Allen or a younger Ben. Both teams really need to use or develop their running game just to the point of being average.
  4. Yep, seemed to me like anytime he held the ball at all, there was pressure of some sort. The Bills certainly aren't an elite pass rush team, but they seemed to get pressure when the opportunity was there against the Steelers untested OL.
  5. Did they really have that many opportunities? It still looked mostly like the Steelers of last year where the low sack total they gave up was more about Ben getting rid of it right away.
  6. Well, the defense brought it, at least. Still lots of questions and concern on the offensive side. That's why I don't visit Steeler forums or watch the game in bars here. Reading the opposing teams fans blame everything on the refs is entertaining. Listening to other Steeler fans do it just makes me want to hit someone with a chair.
  7. If my team doesn't have some miraculous run, I'm rooting for you guys. Your team just forgot it was a 3 game preseason and 17 game regular season. Please don't let the Patriots back on top.
  8. Browns, Packers, and Seahawks in those first 8, so I'd be pleased at 5-3. Unexpected win today, but the running game was still not good and not much in the way of a deeper passing game than last year. Might be able to hit 10 or 11 wins if the D stays healthy all year, but any major injuries like last year and it's probably a losing season unless the offensive line plays average or above to provide some run game and pass protection.
  9. Damn, you need to work on some more positive thinking. At the very least, why can't your team be like Manning's Colts, Brees' Saints, Rodgers' Packers(so far), or Wilson's Seahawks(so far)? Perennial contenders and 1 SB victory? Even though the Bills aren't my favorite team, your lack of that 3rd option depresses me. 😆 I'm hoping you guys get at least 2 SB wins this decade. After those 4 nightmares in the 90s, I think the football gods owe Buffalo at least that much.
  10. Great defensive play entertains me just fine. Two pretty good offenses were slowed down by great defensive schemes and execution. For me, it makes every possession that much more intense and meaningful instead of just watching blown coverages, bad tackling, and stupid PI calls for 3 hours.
  11. Not sure how you figure they had 2 weeks to prepare. The 5-7 seeds weren't set until the after the last weekend. They sat a handful of veteran players because they never got a full bye in the regular season. When they were forced into taking their bye a couple weeks early, they still were practicing and preparing that week and didn't know until Wed or Thur that they were getting a bye instead. They did play hard in Week 17 and nearly pulled off what many would have viewed as an upset against a desperate team fighting for a playoff spot. One player, quoted out of context, for clickbait. The full quote/interview could be interpreted a couple ways. Yes they did. Someone from the opponent needed to be there to accept the Steelers' gifts. The biggest surprise to me was how poorly the defense played, allowing 3 TDs on the Browns' first 3 offensive possessions. Two were short fields due to turnovers, but holding them to a couple FGs and a TD instead would have possibly offset the embarrassing start for the O. Not forcing any turnovers didn't help either. In the end, an old QB having probably his worst start ever and an old OL was most responsible for their loss. Such is life. On the bright, I can watch the rest of the playoffs relatively stress free. 😜
