Gruden keeps 3 QB's to keep Peterman (UPDATE: IR'd)

Maybe he really believed it on MNF when he told us 15 men on the field were first ballot HOFers and that every checkdown was one of the 10 greatest passes of the decade.

Good luck with this maniac, Raiders.

"Rapoport reports that head coach Jon Gruden likes Peterman and wants to help turn his career around. That is no surprise to anyone who has kept up with the Raiders on HBO’s “Hard Knocks”, where Gruden has been complimentary of the former Buffalo Bills quarterback."

Gruden is afraid that the human JUGS machine will be taken off practice squad if placed there and some other team's DBs will get practice catching interceptions.

Lets see what Jon has to say when Nate has a  5 interception game.

Nate will hold the record as last QB to throw 5 interceptions in San Diego.  They left the place to ensure that!

Gruden's decisions are only getting better.  More to come, we can be sure.  What are the odds that Bowl Cut fires Gruden after say next year?

Always liked Peterman, just wasn’t ready here.  Good for him only want to see h8m succeed so long as it’s not in Buffalos’ way.

Did he get an arm transplant?

...so you're defying Chuckie's QB judgment?....blasphemy.......he'll have 7 on the PS...........

Mayock’s response in the article was pretty funny. Basically saying Gruden loves his quarterbacks.

Keeping Croom as a 5th TE is way worse than keeping Peterman as a 3rd QB.

I don't think that's true at all. When the bright lights come on and games really count Peterman has a way of embarrassing himself and his team like no one ever has been able to. One of the worst QBs ever(Or maybe the worst, can't remember) with at least 100 pass attempts. Let's be clear, there's absolutely nothing worse than keeping Peterman rather than keeping _____.

Feels like the football higher powers somehow rewarded Buffalo with Matt Barkley after the Bills gave Peterman a shot and suffered through his learning curve.

Barkley is a slightly better Peterman.  Not sure it is that huge of a gift.

Peterman was just put on IR with an elbow problem. He went from not being able to throw to not being able to throw.

Good for him for getting paid though!  I wonder how guys who are about to get cut fake an injury.

Slightly better? I don't think Barkley is a stud but he is a hell of a lot better than Peterman.

The real news here is that Peterman has an arm????  Who knew.

#Raiders QB Nathan Peterman has a small tear in non supporting ligament in his elbow, source said. That is what landed him on Injured Reserve.

Phew. That saves me a bet. I had a bet with the Peterman lover on here last summer that he would not be an NFL active roster week 1 of 2019. I was worried I hadn't factored in Gruden level stupidity.... but seems I am safe.

Equally I don't consider him being IR'd me "winning" the bet either.

Kizer may be the only QB in the league who is worse than Peterman.

Kizer and Peterman are not that bad. They played on AWFUL teams with no offensive lines and no receivers.  Neither is an NFL started but both are very capable backups on decent teams with franchise QB's.  When Franchise QB's go down, it really doesn't matter anyway. The season is over.

not sure that ir means the whole year or 10 weeks or something like that, but there goes my peterman / kelly  afc playoff shootout.....

He can be activated from IR after 8 weeks.  I doubt they will just to have him on the 53 man roster.  If injuries create a need, he's available at that point.

I wonder if this is just a ploy for Gruden to save face by cutting him eventually.

The Raiders would have put him on IR prior to cutdown day if that were the case.  They specifically waited so he might be called up if need be later in the season.

Sorry you season is over when your franchise QB goes down, UNLESS you have a HOF coach and a future HOF defensive coordinator and the opposing team's coach gets conservative and forces his field goal kicker to try a 47 yard field goal on grass.   ?

Did he refuse to go when they tried to put him on IR earlier, or did they just want to make doubly sure that he didn't see the field this year so they did it twice?
