Patrick Duffy
Seems kinda weird. Wonder how one could miss out on that. Also wonder how much it may show in his play. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/lamar-jackson-didn-t-know-214341804.html
Gugny
I don't think relying on Lamont Jackson to learn anything is in Baltimore's best interest. I wonder what his mom/agent thinks. 1

Logic
Everyone jumped on the Lamar bandwagon early because the Ravens made the playoffs. I'm telling you, I think this kid's going to be a bust. He is NOT an NFL level thrower right now. Unless he makes serious strides, I see him having an RGIII level career.
Warcodered
...they hired a new Offensive Coordinator...what the hell did he think was going to happen. I mean I've only barely paid attention to their situation but I could of sworn it was common knowledge this was happening. I mean did I accidentally stroke out and predict the future or was it reported on extensively after the season? Things like this make you think the wonderlic might be a bit more accurate than people have said. Edited May 27, 2019 by Warcodered

One would think it's pretty obvious that some things may change with the hiring of a new OC. Edited May 27, 2019 by Patrick_Duffy

BuffaloBill
It is almost surreal to think that your new #1 QB doesn’t grasp that a new OC will bring a new system. 7 1
eball
Some of the comments to that article are pretty humorous. I’ll maintain the position I’ve held since last year...Jackson will prove to be no better than the 4th (if not 5th) best QB taken in the 1st round last season.

That's probably an insult to RG3, he actually was a decent thrower and, of course, could run. His problem ended up being a body that could not take an NFL pounding week after week. Jackson can run, and that's about it. The Chargers figured out how to stop him, so that blueprint is now public. It seems pretty simple, force him to throw because that is what he is terrible at. His only success in passing was on plays that broke down and he and his receivers were running all over the field in scramble drills. I don't see that as a sustainable plan for success. It will get you some exciting results sometimes, but sustainable and formula for winning in the NFL? No.
US Egg
He's still gonna take off running the second he can't figure the play out. Those all weren't design run plays when was scampering around last year.

The Ravens struggling means another spot opens up. Having a quarterback not grasp a new system or play poorly can lead to a team missing the playoffs. I agree that after hearing Jackson speak and the Wonderlic scores, I was skeptical about his ability to read a defense and comprehend a play book. This article does nothing to make those apprehensions go away. 2

LaCanfora was tweeting yesterday about how "smart" the Ravens were for adjusting their offense to Jackson's skill set. I read that as Jackson is incomplete as a QB and the Ravens are going to try and mask those shortcomings.

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
Well like the article said, maybe they figure they're just going to keep handing the ball off every play, so no need for Jackson to learn much of anything!
Logic
You know what's crazy? Out of the five 1st round rookies QBs of the highly celebrated 2018 QB class, Josh Allen is the one undergoing the LEAST change and is arguably the BEST set up for growth and success. A case could be made for Mayfield, but even he has a new head coach (even if said coach was already his OC last year). But the rest? Rosen is on a new team AND his third offensive coordinator. Darnold has a new head coach and new offensive coordinator, not to mention a bunch of organizational dysfunction. Jackson has a new offensive coordinator and apparently didn't even know it. It's refreshing to see a Bills rookie QB be out in front in terms of continuity and structure around him. 4

Logic
I was sooooo glad to find out that Jackson was never even CONSIDERED by One Bills Drive. I did not feel like going through the "he can run, but he must learn to be an actual QUARTERBACK completely from scratch!" song and dance with him. Although, ironically, I suppose people could say the same thing about Josh Allen... Edited May 27, 2019 by Logic
