Hebert19
Ok. I said it. I think he may be done. The burst is gone. And since that concussion his desire to get a tough yard or 2 is gone. He and ivory look like what they are. 30 something running backs. I think he could still be a very good 3rd down back...or a 2 headed monster if we drafted a downhill bruiser in the draft....but his days as the feature back are over. He either restructures in the offseason or I'd say hes going to be cut.
RobH063
I wouldn't say he's done. He's still able to do some things but he's not close to what he was in his prime. What bothers me about him though is how easy he goes down. Sometimes he's barely touched and he falls down.
Nuncha
Hard to say with our O-line but it sure seems like he doesn't have the burst he used to. I'd day retirement in 1-2 years.

oldmanfan
When it hits older RBs it hits quick. Not sure he's absolutely done, but his dancing style just ain't working behind this young O line. O line has to be the main priority this offseason; then we'll see next year if the old Shady comes back. Best bet is he'll start to transition into a third down more spot player role.

Victory Formation
Now is the perfect time to move on. Ivory needs to go too. Also, why is Murphy never used? He seems like he could provide a boost, why is he on the bench? We need to evaluate him. Do we need two backs or three?
Luka
I watched Ivory get run down by a corner from the opposite side of the field. McCoy fall into a pile for a yard. And I thought to myself how nice it would be to have a running game to take some pressure off of Allen.
Frez
McCoy does not look like the same RB he was last year. In my opinion it's time to move on and upgrade with a young RB in the draft. The evidence is on the field!
clearwater cadet
With this oline, a rookie Qb, no game changing WR. defense that constantly keep 8 in the box, that just doesn't help is skill set. they need a young north / south runner who is willing to take some hits. Matt_In_NH
I think his issues this year are more related to the way they are using him and deficiencies in blocking rather than him being older. He still has the quick moves. Having a different OC with a different run game approach changes things for a guy like McCoy. I also think he needs to get back to more one cut and go. At times in his career he dances and bounces things too much. in any event, he may be gone after this year.....he has a 9 million dollar cap hit and a 2.6 million dead cap if they move one, so they can definitely choose to move on. I am not sure we want to depend on him given his ex gf situaiton....he could be placed on the exempt list over that.

We need a receiver at RB. Someone who can add 1,000 yards to the passing game. Allen can run, he needs someone he can dump 1yd passes to for a 1st down. We are a passing team. No RBs unless they can catch please.
Clyde Smith
Spend a 3rd or 4th on a RB in the draft and get our Kamara or Connor. I would still keep Shady but we need a young buck or two.
Buddy Hix
The Bills could save 6 mil by cutting him after this year, they should do that but probably won’t. It is def time to move on. Edited December 3, 2018 by Buddy Hix

DisplacedBillsFan
Several very good RBs will be available in rounds 3 and 4. We need to grab one of them.
Mr. WEO
He represents a negative value at this point. Yeah the O-line isn't great, but he's essentially jump cut left, jump cut right, fall down behind the line of scrimmage. There's a guy in every round of the draft next year who can bring that. He's checked out...
T master
The team is getting younger all the way around & in order to keep a team competitive & if it is a copy cat league just look at what one of the best coaches in the league does year after year in our division being Bellichek ! When a vet is still doing good he dumps them before they hit the wall which should have been done this yea or last when the Eagles came calling to see if Shady was available & i think even he would have been okay with going back to Philly ! But it didn't happen & it ain't happening now so all's McD can do is salvage what ever is left & either find a place for him with in the scheme or let him go to the highest bidder which could be cutting him !! Only time will tell but i think Bean & McD being the guy's they are will do what needs to be done for the betterment of the team !!
ThunderGun
He’s looked washed all year to me. Maybe he isn’t meshing well with the new Offesive/Run Blocking scheme, but unless he has an AP-esque Renaissance, he’s toast. Should’ve traded him before the deadline when he still had a shred of value. Good luck unloading him this offseason...
FeelingOnYouboty
As a top flight RB he's done. I understand why they didn't move him at the deadline but we really need to be looking at a replacement in the Draft. And I'd like to introduce all of you to Darrell Henderson-RB Memphis 5'9 200. Please enjoy.
The Frankish Reich
Longest run this year? 28 yards. Yes, the QB situation has been a mess. Yes, the O line has been a work in progress. But peak Shady would’ve broken a couple tackles once or twice all by himself for 40+ yard gains. That’s not happening anymore. And that’s in a league where huge breakaway runs are increasingly common, and not just by so-called elite runners. I don’t think he’s done; I do think he’s moving into the situational back/part-timer phase of his career, but he needs someone to grab that 15-20 carries role from him, and so far nobody on this roster has. Jobot
Done. There was a play, I think towards the end of the Zays 2nd TD drive.. he got like 8 yards but should have been a 30 yd TD run... He looks very slow.

NoSaint
We’d save 6.5m against the cap, right? Id be down with a mid round pick and a solid free agent at this point if he restructured to a 2 year 10-12m kind of deal then maybe he’s that “free agent” and he gets his last contract

NickelCity
With a revamped OLine he'll have a "career resurgence". What that's worth to us, I'm not sure.
Hebert19
I said earlier in the year if he doesn't restructure he's done. Having said that. I think he may do that. Guest K-GunJimKelly12
I don't know if he is done or not, but it is obvious that many people on this board do not realize how bad our offensive line is, really quite clueless.
blacklabel
If Chris Ivory was lights out every time he carried the ball in place of Shady, I'd say yeah, he's probably lost a step and might not be a full-time player anymore. However, Ivory didn't have any room out there either. Again, they've tinkered with the OL, Teller is only on his third game, they have Sirles in at right guard and then they had Bodine go down yesterday and had to put Groy in there. It's a miracle Allen wasn't plastered into the turf yesterday. The pass blocking actually wasn't too shabby. But the run blocking, as it has been all season aside from the Jets game, was pure poop. ColoradoBills
Nothing would shock me as to what the Bills do with the RB situation. I find it hard to justify keeping both Shady and Ivory on the roster next year. I feel one (at least) will be gone. So much will be determined during FA when it comes to the offense. I have no idea who they sign but it surely will determine who is drafted and who is kept from this year.

Smiley Dear
I don’t think he’s done. This O-line is terrible and Daboll makes no effort to get Shady outside the tackles or call any plays where there are cut back lanes. If they aren’t willing to design a running game that plays to his strengths than they should move on and save 6.5 million cap hit

They just don't use him right; need to get him into space, not bashing him up between the tackles. Use him like the Patriots use James White. He's an automatic mismatch with just about any LB in the league. I'd like to see more throwing from 21 personnel sets.
