Steptide
Seems to be 2 sides to the fans lately. The fans that want to try and win and start whoever gives us the best chance, and the fans who want to start Allen regardless of how bad he might be to get experience and develop. I'm on the side of whoever gives us the best chance to win. Call me selfish, but I want more of what we had at the end of last season. I understand Peterman or Allen or McCarron may not get us to the playoffs this year. But I personally have seen so many seasons of developing a qb with this team (Losman, Edwards, Manuel) that I really don't want another 5 or 6 win season just so we can go into next season with some hope. I personally don't care if Peterman is our starter for the next 4 years if he's THAT good. Romo sat 4 seasons before he became starter. No I don't expect Allen to sit that long, but I also don't wanna see this team crash and burn this year, only to hope that the team is better next year. Coming off of the draft I think most would have said development. Camp made us a little too optimistic for the coming season. I think that we have too many areas of uncertainty to expect anything other than development. Keep our 2019 picks and have more expectations for that season. teef
I wasn’t expecting much at all this year, so for me it’sall about development. Especially at the qb position. That being said, I don’t expect to see a train wreck of a season either. Gradual progress would make me happy.

Gives the Bills the best chance to have a winning season, and will have better development than sitting on the bench.
Straight Hucklebuck
I'm on the side of getting Allen in there right now. Waiting until the team is perfect is not realistic in my opinion. At the latest Allen has to be starting by 2019.

Foreigner
This was stupid. The coaches and players are professionals who get paid. Why would they not try and win? We are living in todays' world. Who cares about next year at this point, but don't worry because with this OL there will not be many wins with whoever is sacrificed at QB this year. I’m in this boat but I expect it to be a little worse than you do. I bet under 6.5 last week and don’t regret it. I hope it is a donation but at least it’s a hedge. This is a 3 year process IMO. If Allen proves that he can play I’m not worried about much else this year. Hopefully we find some guys that can play (maybe Teller for example) and worry about everything else next offseason. Let’s load up next year and take our shot.

Dr.Sack
If we play this out conservatively a similar argument could be made next year that Allen is not ready and has limited experience. This isn’t the 2004 Chargers with 4th year veteran Drew Brees. Peterman is not Drew Brees. Brees never had a game like Peterman had against LA last year. Furthermore Allen needs to take a beating in 2018 to learn. In 2004 rookie Big Ben was not ready but started nonetheless. He was told to play it conservatively and didn’t do much his first year statistically. I see Alleen enduring on the worse end an Aikman like 1989. On the top end we will get a Big Ben 2004 season. I don’t care about winning in 2018. This is all about letting the rookie battle through the growing pains.

berg1029
I fall into the "both" category. Let Peterman start, he's earned it. He has looked good all preseason. Give the guy a shot, forget what happened last year. If he turns things around, it's a great feel good story and he will become trade bait or our franchise QB. If he doesn't impress then you let Allen play once Peterman has proved he is not the guy and the Bills are out of it.

The Final Word
Again perspective here gang. The answer is both. After making the playoffs many thought we were knocking at the door of greatness, we weren’t hecki I even saw we should have not traded Tyrod. Simply remarkable and short sighted. Does anyone really think Taylor was a franchise quarterback? He would assure six to eight wins we have to sell tickets. Kim and terry know that if the team can win seven plus games, their stadium will be packed so we need a competitive team while building for the future and they have accomplished that goal. We are getting better and in a few years we will be a beast the final word
Yav
The plan was to take a step back this year. They need to clear dead cap space and get some experience for these young QBs. If you really listen to what they have been saying you can tell last year was a surprise and even if they kept players there’s no room for improvement. They moved on from trading water and are looking at long term success. Trust the process and embrace the change.

Bills Fan of St Augustine
Both - no one lines up to lose. But this team is at least 2-3 years from potential to win SB. All else doesn't really matter. They got their franchise QB, now we need to win in the trenches on both sides of the ball. OL/DL play was horrific. Duckass lead our team in sacks with his backside! I would be very surprised to see 6 wins, but I will be at the Raven's game wearing the colors! Go Bills!

ndirish1978
Peterman/McCarron are the best bets for this time to start the season. If we win a decent amount of games, let them play for a while. If not, pull them and let the Allen era begin around mid-season. I'd like Allen to start Week 8 and spend the rest of the season learning the position at this level. The D has regressed and our Oline is not winning us more than 5 games so we don't have the option to choose "win now"; we're only left with win later. May have been overturned, but either way, what a perfect time to take a few minutes and set up a 4th down play to get that last foot or so. Would have changed things drastically.
