Reid owns McD when it matters

Virgil

Recommended Posts

I don’t care about the injuries.  Josh played as well as you could hope.  Diggs and Sherfield let him down, but the offense overall did pretty good.

This comes down to McD not having an answer for a Reid offense when it matters.  It’s sickening how terrible our defenses are in the post season beyond the wild card round.

If he can’t get it done in these situations, there what’s the point of him being here?  Division round season enders aren’t going to cut it.

I feel terrible for Josh and the fans.  All of them deserve better.

The usual crowd. I am gutted, so disappointed. This, like 2021, felt like THE year. But this was a super close game, almost equal everywhere.  Reid and co did a great job, so did the McD and his staff. This is not like the Bengals outclassing them last year, nor the awful 13 second idiocy. This just... sucks, but it's a coin toss almost.

Nothing McD could do any different, to many injuries at the wrong time on the defense. He was very aggressive on offense and our kicker has went to hell in the last month

Well you might not care about the injuries but the quality defense does.

I feel terrible too. Defense sucked today. Josh was amazing. But still, if he hits open Shakir in the EZ on last drive we win.

Some franchises are apparently not destined to win anything.

As for McDermott, I don't know. I'd probably give him one more year. But I need to sleep on this to think clearly. And not once.

God I hate the Chiefs.

Football is so unfair.

Josh played an amazing game overall, but he had two errors on the final two plays that lost the game.

Winning in the playoffs is more of a competition between which teams are healthy and which are not. KC had zero injured players. We had half our defense out.

KC also gets away with murder in the playoffs. They hold everybody on every single play and they never get called. They had the second most offensive holding penalties during the regular season and didn't get any tonight despite blatant holds on every snap. They were grabbing and bumping our receivers and didn't get a single flag. One of their receivers runs into our LB and we get pass interference.

It’s not a coin toss when it happens 3 of the last 4 years.

KC didn’t punt until the 4th quarter.
KC had a first down of 50% of their plays in the first half.
Kelce with a wide open first touchdown.

This is why McD was hired.  His defensive mind.  Well, it fails when it matters.  So why is he here?

i knew Taylor Swift would leave Buffalo with a smile on her face, I just didn't think it'd be because we lost.

Bass you gotta go, sorry but we pay you to make those kicks. Diggs, you needed to catch that deep pass. So many missed opportunities, this loss is tough. But if you look at where this team was weeks ago, I didn't even think we'd make it into the playoffs. This team can win it all. Maybe next year haha

You apparently don't realize that you can lose coin toss 3 times in a row. You can easily lose 6-7 times in a row. Go to Vegas and check put roulette.

We just going to ignore the last set of downs?  Game is there for the taking and our guy came up small.  Wide open guys underneath to keep milking the clock and moving the chains, but he can’t help himself from going for the kill shot.

Blame McDermott, blame Bass, blame Beane or whoever.  Josh gets the excuses, Pat needs none.

Except that we would not even be in the playoffs or that game without Josh Allen.

Take away anyone else from McCoach to Diggs to Von to anyone else. Without Josh, this team and the coaches are middling.

Yep.  And the moment was set.  Ball in your hands down four under two minutes in the red zone.  Win the game and he gets all the rightful credit.  Don’t come through and it’s everyone else’s fault.

Better to lose now.  With our hurt defense, we got as far as we could go. It started with Milano, and then the D dominoes started falling.

If you think Belichick, Vrabel, or Caroll can do better you have to go get one and can McD

Belichick has shown he can beat McCoach with a poor QB and lesser roster. If they switched places in those games, Belichick would have beaten McCoach with our QB and roster and handily.

I get it. Let’s ignore the fact that we are not even in the playoffs or in the game without Josh.  Interesting take.

*****in' A Virg.  The fake punt on 4th and 5 was a truly stupid call.  If you want to go for it, go for it, but you put your season in Damar Hamlin's hands when you have Josh Allen?  Ridiculously bad decision.  Brady is still not up to the drill.  Just a play here or a play there, but where Spags had the right D call, we didn't.  Reid dialed up the right call on O, and Brady was dialing up runs that ended up in 4-yard losses.  The one adjustment that McDummy made that worked was when he put Wrap on Kelce.  We didn't hear much from Kelce after that.  But it didn't matter, the damage was done.  Fight Doctor and CEH just ripped though our D like a hot knife through butter.  It's an easy game when you're getting 8 yards a play.

The main difference between Josh and Pat?  The coaching staff.  We're going nowhere with McDummy.

Who doesn't own McD once we get to the divisional round.

That 2nd-Half coaching performance reeked to the nines!

But, I'm sure it's not McD's fault.  It's everything and everyone else.

It's hard to disagree with this.... Now we'll have to contend with the bengals next season also, rinse and repeat this guy can't get it done. All the money along the Dline and not even a sack.

With our cap issues, I would argue that we are maybe 4th best in the AFC

KC

Baltimore

Cinncy

Houston

Agree. If you trot out a bad defense in the playoffs every year then you don’t need a defensive HC. An offensive minded HC could put together an average defense. There’s literally no reason to keep him whatsoever. Plus, he’s an all-time choker now. You can’t fix that.

Honestly most of the "ownage" of the Bills has been self-inflicted.

Andy Reid didn't hire the Bills Special Teams Disaster squad and take them into the postseason.

Andy Reid didn't call a non squib kick or off coverage during 13 seconds.

KC really didn't do anything all that special tonight. A depleted defense, craptacular specialists / receivers and some boneheaded decision making just is what it is.

A lot of fans here seem to think the Bills can somehow win the Super Bowl in October, or maybe November one of these years.

We've seen McDermott's ceiling and it came a couple of years ago.

How long he sticks around until he is replaced is purely up to Pegula, which really drives me nuts.

He is an IDIOT....so until Pegula announces McD is gone, it's gonna be same old same old around here.

The Bengals are definitely a better team than us, that matches up really well against us.

Them being magically removed from the equation this year was like a gift from God.

We blew that too.

The good thing is so will these other teams, not so much Houston but Kelce is on his last legs, Burrow will lose Higgins/Mixon, Baltimore will start losing guys due to lamars contract, it's the nature of the beast!

‘Can’t help himself’ throwing to a wide open guy in the end zone haha how dare he.  Guarantee you we get held to a fg taking that underneath throw and we’re all here lamenting passing up a wiiiide open td.

This whole nitpicking with hindsight routine is comical

Being the 1 seed is a massive boost I’m tired of people pretending it’s not…playoff success and regular season success are absolutely linked

I just read that the Chiefs only had to punt 4 times in their 3 playoff wins against the Bills.

That is clear coaching dominance of Reid over McDermott.

If this is a legit stat that is insane.  Made only even more insane by the fact that this team has been built via the draft and free agency to beat the Chiefs.  Not the Dolphins, Ravens, Bengals, etc.  We consistently build towards knocking off this team
