Frazier and/or his System hurt player development

Feel free to merge this with the other Frazier thread but the more I watch this defense, and this team in general, has an edge to it.

It’s pretty clear through 4 games that Frazier wasn’t running McDermotts defense and McDermott determined that his DC was holding some players back.

The difference in play and aggressiveness from Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau have been night and day.

The development of AJ Epenesa who has been really good early this year, Terrell Bernard, Christian Benford look like pro bowl type players now.

just a huge night and day difference with some of these guys from last year.

I’d pump the brakes on pro bowl talk but a couple of these guys look better this year.

Meh. I wouldnt pump the breaks. Going into this week the talk on here was that we hadn’t played a great offense yet so let’s see how we do vs the Dolphins. This D laid the wood on the Dolphins.

We can start chirping a little.

I'm not going to argue Frazier is better but with a healthy roster you could do a lot worse than Frazier.  McDermott is a head coach for a reason.  He is better and I'm glad he's calling the D.  Let's hope we can keep most of the roster healthy this year.

Frazier healthy roster or not ran a scheme that’s was seriously faulted. End of story.

You can’t argue Frazier was better…cause he wasn’t.

Just stop with this stuff.

next week, if they were to lose, you’d be praising Frazier and starting posts about McD.

You're wrong.... dead wrong.

Everyone can see the night and day difference in the attacking nature of our defense this season.

No actually I wouldn't. You can see a difference with this defense for whatever reason. This defense is playing with a physical pissed off edge this year. Something that I didn't see over the last couple of years.

To think, I wanted Fangio. He is even more passive than Frazier.

Fangio doesn't have the luxury of all pros at nearly every position either. Holland is about the only player in the secondary worth accounting for.

Frazier’s defense was frustratingly soft against capable offenses. No way do the Bills hold Miami to 20 pts if he was calling the defense today.

This Dolphin's offense would put up 50 on Frazier's soft, predictable defense.

the dolphins have a lot of money in that defense. Holland and Howard (and Ramsey) in secondary, and Wilkins, siler, Davis, and Chubb up front. If Fangio can’t work with that group, they are in trouble.

Yeah their line is good. That's why I specified the secondary. I should have also specified LB since we are far more talented there as well.

Wow how bad was that defense that I forgot Xavien Howard and Nick Chubb were on it, lol. Don't think I heard a peep of either one of their names.

Wilkins was invisible too, but honestly I only ever notice him when he's throwing a cheap shot anyway.

I actually wasn’t sure any of them played today. They were just run over. that Chubb trade and signing too is looking awful. I would rather have Leonard Floyd.

I’ve been saying this for 2 years.  The moment Frazier “stepped away” and McD took over I said the biggest improvement to this team was Frazier being gone.  It is so much better watching this McD led defense than Fraziers crap fest

Frazier’s biggest issue was that he didn’t play aggressively at the right times in games, the talent for the most part has been there, he just didn’t use it to its best advantage.
Now take McDermott, he plays aggressively at the right times during games, with essentially the same talent, and the results speak for themselves, Sean thus far is a better DC than Frazier. Some folk on this board are reluctant to accept this reality, but they will come around.

GO BILLS!!!

Incorrect, it's the same system. McDermott is just a more aggressive play caller than Frazier. Same system, same concepts, different signal caller is all the difference.

with McDermott there are adjustments and a diff game plan week to week  I swear with Frazier it was the same exact thing every week regardless of the opponent

Silly statement...

Frazier also didn’t have Leonard Floyd, healthy Ed Oliver, 3rd year Greg Rousseau, Hyde, or Terrell Bernard. I’m not saying McDermott isn’t better, I think he is, but McDermott is working w/ a much improved front 7. Frazier called some great games as well, but folded when it counted. I want to see how McD adapts as the season goes on and more players inevitably get injured.
