I was wrong about home field advantage…

They looked pretty bad last week and were lucky to draw the Dolphins.  Homefield used to mean watching visiting teams struggle in the snow.  Deeply ironic that we've now built a team that requires perfect weather conditions to perform

Yep. I think they begged the league to move the Browns game to Detroit, instead of another outdoor venue that was available. Then, the dome in Atlanta that never happened.

Hate to say it, last season WAS the SB season & they blew it.

Yup, its not like the 90s Bills who were at an advantage when it snowed.  This team is at a disadvantage when it snows.  Unfortunately it looks like I will still be talking about the 90s Bills to my grave. The current administration only drafts and signs defense, and they even fail at that

The SB season was the 2020 season IMO. At least to get to one.

only reason they won that game was a sub par qb.

So how about next year they sneak into the playoffs and not worry about homefield and then turn it on? Worked for the Bengals last year and this year. Instead of going all out beginning of the year and everyone getting injured let's go like .500 until Dec

It's unbelievable how overrated home field advantage is.

The one seed is important but it's because of the bye week. That's infinitely more important then home field.

Considering our players were "gassed" from the week... tired at home, tired on the road.... what difference does it make!  LOL

Agreed.  If Tua plays, even brain bruised Tua, Miami wins that game by at least 10

The OL was clearly exhausted from getting out of the way of those mean cincy DL all day

If Saffold was gassed last week from sucking, he's probably in a coma today... I still can't believe that ***** actually said that.... WTF?

Wasn't much of a home field with all that orange in the crowd.

Good point, legalized scalping really damaged home field advantage in the playoffs. It’s too tempting for some folks not to take a decent sum of easy cash.

Seems like the way we were built to take advantage of the elements at home back in the 90's is markedly different to the current roster, as has been commented on by other posters at some length.

Can we stop comparing ourselves to the 90's? 30 years ago. Old people.

Seriously people!!!!

2022 roster :

A San Fran team picked 262 QB to NFCC

A Miami based team almost won twice in snow (by 3 pts)

Geesh our offense tried to do Jet sweeps and 30 yard passes, on snowy plastic!!??

Our defense was speed based, prevent D, on snowy plastic?!!??

Our OC, DC, HC failed to prepare a team.

I always like to say how being at home is a big advantage come playoff time, but yesterday the Bills made me a liar out of me. 😂

If we're talking about the Kelly-era Bills, yes it was.

If you're talking the offense we run now? No, far from it.

Playing in front of the Mafia is an advantage, but the weather is definitely not to our advantage.

The reason we have to compare to the 90’s teams is because that was also the last/most recent time we had a SB window with playoff games at home before Josh Allen! I agree it sucks it was that long ago…

The snow didn’t hurt the Bengals passing game

The bill struggle because we don’t have any wide receivers outside of diggs to get to open consistent

Even the announcers yesterday said the weather favors offenses… Because defensive backs have to give more of a cushion and only the wide receivers know where they’re running

Problem is they have three really good wide receivers and a really good tight end.. We have one really good receiver and one good tight end

Their guys get open fast

Yeah, those were some truly terrible quotes.

We're all gassed, from working 40+hours a week, from following an underachieving team.

A bunch of excuses coming from some players, and somebody needs to "B word slap" Diggs for walking out on his team.

Yep, unless Josh Allen starts pointing fingers at his team mates like Jim Kelly did, there is no comparison.

Very true, and also deeply unfortunate that ownership does not want to do everything possible to give our team the best chance to win. It was wildly frustrating to see the Bills apparently struggle in the elements at home, and the Bengals not so much. "They both play in the same conditions" isn't the kind of equalizer I want if the Bills can't play their kind of ball.

Not to get entirely off topic, but people genuinely underestimate the Buffalo weather, they're flat out wrong about the 'advantage' it gives Buffalo, and worse, they fail to recognize the clear benefit warm weather and dome teams have. There's no argument. It is one more element of adversity for this team to deal with, and after decades of diversity, I've had my fill. Go look the Hall of Fame QBs from the 90s onward and if you take some of the Dome based QBs and place them in weather like Orchard Park, I don't think they get the jacket.

We lost for a lot of reasons yesterday, the weather was one of the more minor reasons, but going forward it is a spectre that will screw us at the worst times.

We're a finesse team built for a dome who will struggle in the wind, rain & snow for years to come.
