Very believable. This is America.

Unfortunately true.....nothing was done after Sandy Hook, and sadly nothing will be done following this....that’s what I meant when I said unbelievable.

Which state will be host to next weeks mass murder ?

Thoughts and prayers doesn't cut it anymore

Whole thing is exasperating at this point and obviously tragic and horrible.

First sentence made me think of this bit.

Nothing will be done after this one either.

Many countries have lots of guns.  Canada comes to mind.

But it's only in the USA that we snap and kill people en masse, about once a week.

WHY?

I wonder if they change the words to their post murder spree speeches or just use the same one every time.

I don’t see how an ending to this type of recurring anguish can be discussed without (deservedly) heading into PPP territory, so I’ll just I’ll just pray for more people facing senseless losses.

I’m so sick of it. I worry about getting shot at Wegmans, movie theaters, every time I’m waiting to get into a Bills game or a concert. I’m sick of living in fear and I’m scared to send my kids to school.

I'm in shock... Just got an email from work with the subject line "about the school shooting," and about had a heart attack. I work at a a Texas Elementary School, so it quickly hit me how close to home this is.

Especially after what happened in Buffalo, it's like all aspects of life are being touched by gun violence, & it's truly devastating. Nowhere is safe anymore, I just wish we could put tribalism aside & come together to find a solution.

It's Sandy Hook all over again. I don't understand how the shooter got in the school. I thought it was standard protocol now for schools to have security locks on the doors.

Good question, though I'm sure plenty of schools don't have them.

Ours does, but I see people think they're being polite holding the door open for others all the time, especially end of day when people are coming to pick up their kids.

How many more must die in mass shootings? Other countries have mental illness too and don’t have children slaughtered in school or people slaughtered in grocery stores. If guns made us safer, we’d be the safest country on earth.

I don't know man... I lean conservative on gun control. But does an 18 year old need access to an assault rifle and body armor? I mean it's the same exact story in a matter of 10 days.

You can't buy a beer or a pack of smokes until you're 21, why can you buy guns when you're 18 ?

Guns are more important than children in this country.

freakin disgusting..... I lost patience with these events a long time ago....meaning anymore they just make me feel physically sick due to the depravity and unrightousness of it.  It's so unacceptable yet keeps happening ad nauseum. DISGUSTING.  There are a host of mentally sick people who will ger their 15 seconds of shame and then we wait for the next one you Know its coming....(*(*&&^%$#%^&**((*&

Your entire family is more likely to get struck by lightning.  The one common thread with most of these public mass shootings is young males are the shooters.  All debate on solutions really should be centered around figuring out why that is.

As of 2017, there were 120 guns in America for every 100 people. Gun owners need to help solve this problem.

I carry a gun everywhere I go. If I run into a psycho like this, I will engage that person. I am doing my duty. More need to as well.

It doesn’t matter how “angry” these shooters are, if they don’t have access to weapons of war and body armor, a shooting like today would not happen.

That's true but it was easier to buy these weapons 30 years ago than it is now.  Yet we have significantly more public mass shootings.  Why is that?

It's a social epidemic. It's now ingrained in the national consciousness. Back in the 70s and 80s and 90s there were a bunch of copycat serial killers. The modern version of that is mass shooters. A certain type of young angry male decides to go out in what they consider to be a blaze of glory because they know they'll get attention. I'm usually big on attacking the root of a problem but I don't think there's a cure for this particular root. We have to enact policies that make it more difficult for these murderers to carry out their plans. Anyone proposing a one-size-fits-all policy is deluding themselves. If every school in America had security locks where visitors had to be buzzed in today's shooting wouldn't have happened. If kids that made violent threats were blacklisted from gun purchases for a couple years the Tops shooting wouldn't have happened. Etc. Everyone focuses so heavily on one specific version of gun control and the endless debate gets us nowhere. We have to enact a wide range of basic security policies that 99% of people would readily agree with. But instead we choose the political gridlock and rehash the conversation every time another shooting happens.

Outside of law enforcement officers or military personnel, who legitimately does?

……no one.

Easier to buy, but the supply wasn't there.  The nation is awash with arms.

My heart breaks for these kids who won’t fulfill dreams they were too young to even have had yet.

No. An 18 YO does not need body armor, or assault weapons like this POS had. Nobody does. Enough is enough.
