Pats are 4-4 with a rookie QB and almost top 10 defense

Win over the Chargers on the road was impressive. They look like a WC team at this point. I didn't think much of Jones at the time of the draft but he is completing 68% of his passes. And he has over 7 yards per attempt so even if most of the passes are short they are moving the ball.

Defense is just outside of top 10. 

Should be good games this year to see how McD challenges the rookie and what our offense can do against their defense.

It's a team that we should still beat.  They aren't pushovers and I think they'll be a team that's in the hunt all year.  I think it'll take to the last week of the season to get in.

Pats will play us tough like the Fins did yesterday...good teams find a way, a different way to win every week. 

Division games are rivalries and the coaches-players know each well from all that film work x 2 games per season...

I like Jones a lot. He is no Josh Allen (who is?) but he’s going to be a quality starting calibre QB imo.

Last year the Pats were with out some of their starters on their D but this year they have them back & they will not be a easy out for the Bills and it wouldn't surprise me if they split this year I'm hoping not but we'll see .

 

If the Bills play to their potential then it should be a given but they aren't right noe we can only hope that they are playing their best ball closer to the end of the year i would rather it be like that the come out like the Steelers did last year and then fall off at the end .

 

Hopefully they can learn from their mistakes and get this offense humming going down the home stretch !!

I have watched them the last 3 weeks and they are getting visibly better. Belichik's teams always did, even with Brady at QB, they were always better in November than September. The defense in particular is better than it was early on, they have got their oline healthy and Hunter Henry has started to make some plays. They will give the Bills two tough games. They are not going to threaten for the division though. Still too limited offensively. Every game they have played recently (other than the Jets haha) has been a close game and I can see them being like that all year. Win some tight ones, lose some tight ones. They are a wildcard contender but that is a crowded picture.

I just have a hard time caring too much about what any other teams in the division are doing when i sit back and think about our roster and #17.... So maybe we dont sweep the division. Oh well. its ours for the foreseeable future.

Whoever thought the Pats were going to lay down and die because 5 of their starts opted out last year and returned this year wasn't paying attention. 

 

If we don't start playing full 60 minute games, our matchuhps with the Pats will be tough contests.

Both games and the one against the Bucs will be the true remaining tests ahead of the playoffs. The games against the Pats** will come down to coaching and in-game decisions (please, not some bone headed ones we saw yesterday from McD)

Second game is Dec 26 - week 15.  Bills most likely win the division by then but the AFC top spot is likely to still be up for grabs.  Plenty to play for.

They are definitely much better than last year. It’s going to be 2 tough games against them. Belichick always seems to know how to give our offense fits. McDermott/Daboll have only scored more than 25pts against the Patriots once.

 

The pats are absolutely not the same team as last year, and even last year with that horrid offense and a defense missing a bunch of starters the Bills first win was a close game (24-21).

 

Jones is significantly better than Newton. Their offense is much improved with him at QB and he hasn’t exactly looked like a rookie. He has a good command of that offense and he isn’t getting rattled as easy as rookie QBs usually do. He fits that offense perfectly. Their defense is significantly better than last year too (getting back 5+ starters will do that...).

 

Bills fans should not be overlooking the Patriots. Belichick still knows how to coach. Remember, before they had to field a garbage team last season McDermott hadn’t won a single game against belichick. He lost 6 straight times to NE.

And you know NE is going to be out for blood from that 38-9 loss from last season.

 

I expect it to be a hard fought battle against them. The Bills are going to have to play a complete game against them to win. It can’t be a showing like yesterday, or like the Steelers game.

Pats are a tough team. They are using Jones for what he's good at and they have a stout D. This is the same old pats. Buffalo is better though. We should win both games vs them. There is a good chance we split though

Bills fans obsess over NE. No I don't care at this time and truthfully evaluating anything right now is a mute point. Good for NE they are 4-4, they could also be 5-8 in four weeks and none of this matters or 8-4 idk idc, we are at week 9 the NFL landscape is vastly different every year come seasons end.
