We save $5.1 million if we were to cut him. I'm not suggesting we cut him but I'm thinking he could be overlooked as one of the shockers...we are going to lose a good player or two. If cutting him means we would have more cash to resign lets say Milano...would you do it? Not sure if it's a priority to replace him, and I'm generally expecting an improved defense next season... The drop-off is likely to be steep unless they get a stud in the first round. I don't want to spend a first or second round pick on a safety. However, this is the same staff that unearthed Hyde - meaning if they found him, they can find others. Milano is good but dammit once again in a losing playoff game he’s almost making plays instead of making them. it is annoying they do not appear to have knocked any of their high defensive picks out of the park since 27. That said, if our goal is to get better, I have a general pet peeve talking about "We save $X.X million if we were to cut him". Typically even if we draft someone or we think his backup, Jaquon Johnson, can do the job (Johnson played the end of the NE game and half the MIA game), we would want to hedge our bets with a FA. I see the following players as candidates for restructuring or cuts. 1- Vernon Butler 2- Quinton Jefferson 3- Mario Addision 4- Jerry Hughes 5- Mitch 6- John Brown 7- Lee Smith I think Smith and either Butler or Jefferson are outright cut, that should free up about 10 million in space. The rest will be asked to restructure or be cut which depending on how much they are willing to give will result in 10-20 million in space. I really hope they set the cap at 205 million. That would give the Bills 30 million to start with and then they could free up 20-25 million with these cuts and restructurings which would give the Bills a chance to retain all or most of their key free agents.
