Jets fans are not happy about winning today

This is the first post I just saw on Gang Green:

"First, f*** the day I became a Jets fan.

Second, f*** this world that allowed you to become Jets owners.

Third, f*** your brian cells for allowing Jags to pick #1 in the upcoming draft.

Lastly, f*** my life for giving you my hard earned money.

F***ck you Johnson brothers, f*** you."

Almost poetic.

Bad teams finishing strong show character and it is something that is always helpful to build on. I know the fans want Lawrence— but too late for that. They should be rooting for wins and Darnold’s Improvement.

I think Darnold could be a very good player. Most Jets fans I know or have heard from seem to want him gone

It will be interseting to see what happens with Darnold.  I happen to think Darnold can be good too.

And all of the sudden, Mitch Trubisky seems to be "getting it".  Both guys were presumed gone in their current cities...but maybe not anymore?  Just a reminder (as if we needed one) of how frustrating the QB search can be.

That is usually the case if you are keeping the team as is and just going through growing pains... This will be the second year in a row the Jets will have "Finished Strong" and both times will have screwed them for doing it

Trubisky has really turned it around since Nagy stopped calling plays. I can imagine having him yapping in your ear non stop would drive down your potential.

Head Coaches that call plays, still amaze me. That an owner or GM would consider that a positive, is also amazing.

I can understand this. I got to the point where I wouldn't buy bills gear until Ralph died. That was a LONG boycott.

It is kind of the old-school approach. It used to be much more common.

If you are rooting for your team to lose for draft picks it's time for a new hobby.  We have seen plenty of that here for years.

Sure have, and it didn’t work for the Sabres (at least not yet.) But I can understand some of them getting upset about missing out on a player with a metric ton of hype and talent like Lawrence. Do I feel bad for them? Lol absolutely not. But I understand.

That is why anyone thinking that Daboll can be a HC and a QB developer at the same time is more a pipe dream.

The reality is the Jets fans should be more focused on dumping Gase and loading up on real quality weapons and getting Darnold right. They can trade that 2nd pick for multiple high picks to some dumb team willing to take a shot on some mediocre QB like Fields. They then would have a boatload of 1st and 2nd rounders to retool with.

Andy Reid, among others, does fine with it.

It happens.

I'd rather see Daboll here, obviously, and I'm not convinced yet that he'll be a great head coach. No way to know, really, he'll certainly have a lot to prove, but it could work.

Look what happened with Baker Mayfield with a better head coach. Lamar Jackson won MVP because the Ravens built their entire offense around his skillset. Ryan Tannehill didn't look so good in Miami, then went to Tennessee and a new OC in a run first scheme and he became much better.

Darnold has been screwed by his team, two head coaches, GM's and instead of building around him asap they tore the team down. Best receiver gone, best safety gone, best RB gone and their best D line player wants out now too.

The Jets spent a #3 pick on Darnold they should at least build a team around him to see if he will develop into a top QB.

There is talk that Bill Cowher wants the NY Jets job as HC and likes their current GM. This could change everything in NY.

Then again should the Jets hire another bum for HC then Darnold is done for in NY.

My guess is most Jets fans are probably ambivalent at this point.  I remember the 3-13 years.  By that point, I wouldn’t even watch the game as I was so sickened by those teams.  If you’re old enough, remember watching the Kay Stephenson Bills. Gives me a chill just thinking of those days.

I refuse to stand by and hear you denigrate Coach Stephenson's teams, which always played with 'character'.

*
Stephenson's 'character'

=
McDermott's 'process'.

Except McDermott seems to be having a lot more success. 😁

I think Trevor would stay in school if the Jets picked at #1

I think they should trade down from 2 and take Zach Wilson.

Or just take him at 2 and piss everyone off taking the #4 or 5 QB that early

JMHO

What are you guys basing this Darnold love on?

I agree he’s been dealt a horrible hand, but good QBs show something. Darnold has had 3 years and he’s regressed. He’s worse than he was as a rookie.

He’s got horrible pocket presence, he’s still a turnover machine, and he doesn’t read the whole field. Once in a while he makes a wow play out of the structure of the offense. That’s it.

Hes done. Maybe he could hold a clip board somewhere other than NY but no way does that crap franchise develop him.

I'm not so sure thatn there is a clear #2 selection in this draft. Imo, Lawrence is miles ahead of every other player in the draft. There would seem to be lots of players with a chance of going second.

Of course, jmo.

I pray they hire that has been. It would end up worse than the gruden experience.

I mean, does noone remember his time with the likes of Maddox and stewart at the helm?
