Collinsworth - Credit where credit is due.....

After all the crap about PFF, he was very complimentary about Allen throughout (even as he was not very good early on).

The second half he was effusive in his praise.

But geez has he ever looked at a map (or was taught geography).  Not knowing that Toronto is 100 miles from Buffalo???🙄😡

I mean. It’s Canada. Most forget it’s even up there sometimes.

I will eat some crow here.  I felt certain we were going to get stilted praise at best for Allen, and that If he did have a poor start we would get some real Allen is trash talk from Chris, but that was not the case.  Good job last night.

C'mon. He has seriously lost a step. Did anyone else catch when he was comparing the current Bills to when they had Brady? He thought he was covering the Patriots! Easy mistake for an old guy I guess because the red uniforms do kind of look like the old Pats uniforms. He is also taking over for Joe Thiesmann. I used to tell him to shut up constantly too.

Re: Canada

Americans’ knowledge of geography is generally pretty bad. When I tell people I’m from Buffalo, I’m frequently asked, “So, did you drive into NYC often when you were growing up?”. I had another person tell me that the Niagara River flowed from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie because that was “down” on the map! We’re lucky people know Canada is a separate country.

Well to split hairs from Niagara Falls it is only 80 miles to Toronto.....😉

Depending on how many bars you stop at along the way.

Collinsworth is the worst no matter what he says. I’d rather listen to Aikman.

I’d rather listen to the sound of 2 giraffes mating in the hot African sun than listen to Collinsworth. It’s not as bad when you’re team is doing well though

He seemed fine the first half too, where it was a punting contest.....

He said he had never seen the, falls before and did not, kmow that toronto was on the other side

Than the corner announcer she well it's only about an hour away

Aikman is like 10 times worse. He is irritating in every possible manner. I hate his voice, he gives no insights, he doesn't prepare for games and he says "ball game" like hundred times a game.

But it is obviously very subjective.

Cogsworth was soooooo pulling for gentle Ben and the Steelers. Allen and company forced him to change his narrative.

To be clear, I don't like Aikman either but find I can tune him out.  Collingsworth screeches like a bad motor with a predictable cliches and platitudes.

LOL the Steelers message board were complaining about how much he was drooling over Josh. They must have been as angry as I was when the announcers wouldn't shut up about Murray when we played the Cards

The fact that so many get so upset when commentators don't think the way they do is rather pathetic.

I don't know what was up with him. He also called a QB run by Josh a throw. I'm like...ok he misspoke. But then capped it off with calling it a completion coming back on the holding flag.

Toronto is 59 miles away from Buffalo as the crow flies (and I think 30 from Niagara Falls NY).  It’s not far at all, actually. It’s around 100 on the Queen E Way, of course ...

I was pleasantly surprised by Collinsworth in the 2nd half.  Perhaps it is simply that in general I'm not a fan of announcers who effusively praise players and I'm not used to the Bills being the subject of such praise.  LOL

I'm not sure you actually understood his comparison. When he was making that reference, he was comparing JA and Beasley with how Brady always had his over the top receiver (Diggs or Brown for JA) but always had an underneath receiver that was always open for him like Beasley is for Josh. while I am not a Chris Collinsworth fan... he is annoying to listen to because 9 times out of 10 he's always talking about a supposed "special" player like he gets to suck him off after the game if he talks him up enough; he wasn't half bad last night.

Did he drive up to Youngstown?  On clear day you can see Toronto from there?
