buffalo2218
Sure looks that way to me. I get why some don't want a dome and keep the bad weather element as a weapon against opposing teams. But if Allen does his best work minus the elements, then you'd have to consider it.

DaggersEOD
I can see why we’d want a dome. With JA slinging the rock like he is, we want to provide him with a perfect environment to really maximize his capabilities. It makes sense, but only if we look exclusively on the “O” side of the ball. While JA MAY complete a lower % of passes in an open stadium, I think his Comp % will be higher than the opposing QB in the same environment due to his physical capabilities. So, IMO having an open stadium is a net benefit to the Bills if you take all three phases of the game into account.
NewEra
Agree 💯 I was always against a dome in the past. Based in our current roster and scheme, a dome would benefit us greatly. I don’t think there’s any doubt about it. Bad weather affects us worse than most teams because our run game is lacking. We ran well vs the pats, mostly due to the pats having a Jv front 7 while playing a deep zone

thenorthremembers
I think the defenses they faced, and having your starting QB is a shoulder harness had a lot more to do with the passing attack lacking than the weather did. 1

And when the Giants won it was with superior defenses. Do we have data on this anywhere? We all know the 10-15 mph games aren't worth sweating. But I feel like we've been playing in a lot of 20-25 mph games and that has impact. Rain, some snow is one thing. Wind neutralizes the passing game. I think Kelly would have had bigger numbers if not for having a dominant running game most of his career, and playing outside in Buffalo. SCBills
I'm definitely in the "retractable roof" crowd, but these past 4 games also coincided with Josh Allen playing hurt and, essentially, no John Brown.

Once JA locks in with the winds and how windy different directions and corners can be, that's a real home advantage.
Rc2catch
In today’s offensive NFL I think a dome would be great. We’re only going to see defenses held down more. You can’t hit anyone. Can’t touch anyone. Bad weather was a fantastic advantage and can still be the ultimate neutralizer because it evens the playing field so much at times. But we’re trying to be one of the most talented rosters in the league why would we want to even up with anyone or slow things down? In today’s league I would support a dome for buffalo. ProcessAccepted
I think people are not recognizing that Josh's non throwing shoulder was injured. He got hurt in the Raiders game but I think he's healed up again. Of course it's easier to throw the ball in the less windy warmer weather but they brought Josh coz he has the arm to be able to do it in Buffalo when it matters. Not every team we'll be playing against can say the same about their qb.
947
One thing to consider regarding having a dome is the effect of weather on player stats. Guys playing 5 games/year in high wind/rain/snow will typically have lower overall numbers than guys playing in sunny conditions or indoors. Over a season, this could mean the difference between being an All Pro or not, making the Pro Bowl, or statistical contract escalators. Over the course of a career, it be could be the difference in making the HOF or not. Imagine a QB is a borderline HOF candidate, and played his career in a bad weather outdoor stadium. HOF voters don't take weather factors into consideration, but mostly look at raw numbers. If he'd played in a dome, that could mean potentially 40+ more TD passes over a 15 year career. 40 more TDs puts a borderline candidate into "lock" territory.

zow2
been saying for several years, the poor weather games in Orchard Park don’t benefit the Bills at all. With this version of the Bills it’s clear that our offense performs worse in weather (and doesn’t affect the opponent as much)...and the D doesn’t perform better in it. BigBuff423
I've been in the pro-dome crowd for a number of years but more than just because Josh Allen has done well in warm weather / controlled environment stadiums. It's several factors that include: rule changes over the years that have aided the Offense, a generation that is not as accustomed to being outside in the elements, and the way society has changed plus the development of players. Hard to believe a brace is what stopped MVP level qb play. Not really that hard to believe - if you watch the difference between his previous motion last year and earlier this year - the 2 things most recognized by reviewers (guys like cover 1 and former QBs) was the positioning of his off arm and shoulder (they joke about him eating a hamburger) - getting that arm tighter against his frame and up to allow him to get his hips through. The second thing was keeping his base narrow so he can adjust the angle and velocity of the ball. His base had been good for the last couple of games, but he was not as fluid getting his off arm correct and that prevents getting you shoulders in line. That tends to cause balls to either sail or drop to the ground. His throws weren’t way off - they just had not been along the same plane as before. That improved markedly yesterday. I think the KC and NE games you had weather impact, but Tennessee and NYJ you had arm placement issues. I think that was the biggest fault we had in that game. Ethan in Cleveland
I've long been a proponent of a dome. Retractable roof is just too expensive. Build a great place like they have in Minnesota. That said, you have to throw the ball in weather. Both teams are playing in it. Josh has the arm strength to play in weather. Missing a wide open Diggs on a deep sideline throw by 5 yards was not the elements it was a bad throw by Allen who had a clean pocket. That is a throw he just has to make. I also think what people are forgetting is can Daboll adjust his playcalling to the weather? Can he feature more throws to the tight ends? Can he dink and dunk with safe passes. Yesterday Josh threw a lot of deep outs to the sidelines. In wind those become very dangerous. Also have to add in the slippery element of snow. Hitting a guy coming out a break is harder if they are slipping.

They team will be much different by the time that a new stadium is built. Not to mention. Stadiums are built to last for decades, which will have a lot of different styles during its use Also, Josh Allen has one of the strongest arms in the NFL.
