shocked? No. Unhappy? No. Surprised? Yes. I think they will want a little experience in the room based on what we’ve seen of their culture building. I doubt we end up with singletary, 2 rookies, and a rugby player in the building week 1 even if it’s our most talented option.

I would be suprised.....with Moss we now have a back that covers every area

- Motor (elusive)

- Moss (banger)

- Yeldon (pass catcher)

The Athletic live tracker:

86. Buffalo Bills: Zack Moss, RB, Utah

The Bills found value at the running back position in the third round last year with Devin Singletary and they do it again here with Moss. The contact balance is what makes the Utah product dangerous because he attacks defenders and bounces off contact, breaking tackle after tackle. The medicals are a little bit of a worry here, but his talent was top-50 worthy.

From the beat writer: The Buffalo Bills had been sniffing around running backs in the draft process, including a meeting with their third-round pick, and landed a coveted option in Utah’s Zack Moss. The Bills feel quite strongly about the current starter and second-year player Devin Singletary as a featured back, though they wanted to give him a complementary back with a contrasting style. They tried it last year with Frank Gore as the downhill runner, and past mid-October, Gore’s play dipped by a great deal. In Moss, the Bills are getting that downhill style that can give them another option out of the backfield, and he can potentially fill in as a three-down back in the event of an injury to Singletary. Their offensive coordinator likes to have running backs who do different things, so this pick makes sense through the lens of all their philosophies. —Matt Fairburn

You are talking about a fraction of a second

It’s the 40 in the NFL, everything is fractions of seconds. But it’s about 0.3 sec slower than MJD, about the same speed as Gronk, and less than .1 slower than Mario Williams.

It is not a deal breaker obviously. But it is a valid concern heading into the season.

Because as we all know...the key to winning is running and stopping the run.

Oh wait, that was the 1985 NFL calling.  Sorry.

I know the Chiefs won the super bowl but half the playoff teams relied on their running game more than passing.

Controlling games against high powered offenses is very important

Want to beat teams with good offense?  Control the ball and help your D

You do that by running the ball

Are we talking about a 40 he was hurt in and tried to run anyway?

I don’t think espenesa and moss are starters....Rotational pieces

I guess I use the word starter too loosely. I meant these guys are going to play and contribute. I think neither guy is a "polish his game and he might see some playing time" like a lot of 3rd round picks. Epenesa is going to pass rush and moss will carry the rock.

Good offenses beat good defenses.  See the SB win or AFCCG.  Pretty much every game KC or BAL play.  Those are the teams Buffalo needs to beat to advance.

And what's a football season without valid concerns, am I right?

we still don’t have breakaway speed. You know, the area everyone was discussing.

we won’t be the track meet team, but have talent across the board. Would’ve been nice to get faster on offense still though.

Love this quote about Moss:

Contact Balance: Like trying to knock over a weeble-wobble. Mass rides low and he runs with a wide base. Flexibility in his ankles and hips allows for him to catch his body at absurd angles to the ground and still retain his balance and quickly turn upfield. Has a bowling ball approach to tight spaces and an active off-hand to stun the initial brunt of incoming contact. Able to generate scramble drill plays with shocking survival ability in between the tackles.

Love this pick!  Amazing draft

1st - Diggs

2nd - Espensa

3rd - Moss

Amazing.

Yeah, maybe treading water while getting younger and cheaper on defense, but we are CERTAINLY more talented on offense. And the draft is far from over. I like our FO as one of our advantages. Later rounds is where I hope we can “win” over a lot of other teams.

GO BILLS!

We will be an "impose our will" offense, not a Madden 2020 offense.    I'm happy with that...

"We are in trouble if Singletary goes down!"

Ok we just got another (more physical) Singletary.  I'll freaking take it.  Vision and contact balance for days.  Between Allen, Knox, Singletary and Moss, just keep a weekly slot open for Angry Run nominations earmarked for a Bills representative.

Which ones?  Tennessee is the outlier, not the standard.

In Back To The Future, Marty McDly went back 30 years into the past.  You've done that outlining the strategy needed to win games in the 1990 NFL because ball control doesn't matter when your opponent scores 30+ like KC or perhaps BAL can do.

Didn't Houston just score 19 points on Buffalo in something like 1.5 quarters?  How are base DE's and slower RB's going to help Buffalo score?

Ok, he doesn’t make us faster.  He should make us stronger.

Good pick. A complimentary back to Singletary.

Amazing.

Funny thing is: if back in February someone would have told you these would be our first three picks, people would have been doing backflips down Chippewa Street.

But tonight on social media, the usual cast of complainers. You just can’t — absolutely CAN’T — please some people.

I assume you mean in the running back department and not as a team as a whole

Stephon Diggs

Smoke

Our two start WR's add plenty of speed to this team

Having a young banger RB was ALSO a need

While I really wanted to add back with more speed, I’m pretty happy right now.

he compliments Singletary in a different way.

reminds me of a smaller looking Lynch.

i feel his top end speed is better than the 4.65 at the combine.  I’d say a hamstring tweak could have an impact.

gonna be tough to decide between a moss and a Singletary Jersey.

Who’s the lead back in 2 years? Probably going to be a game to game split.  I’m eager to see how these kids grow together.

Who cares?  There were 15 WR's taken, 6 of which came in the first round.  Another 9 in rounds 2-3.

RB's are a devalued asset in the modern NFL.  And it shows year after year when perhaps 1-2 are taken in the first round.

Weird analogy.  Wouldn't a...you know...cannonball fired from a cannon be more effective?

But that's where he confuses you. Nobody  expects a cannon ball  at a bowling alley

Who cares. We have a WR, DE and RB. So want to keep with the Hot Takes don’t forget about our WR

BILLS 1st round. A WR. See how really stupid your sound?

Then I guess it was a good thing we took both our backs in the 3rd round?
