Chandler#81
That game is getting a lot of grief from the masses. Must be FF playing younguns. Both teams played masterful Defense like I haven’t seen in a long time. RBs disappeared into the line and QBs were thrown around like the bouncing ball in an old sing along. I don’t fault either QB for their performance. The lone TD was as dangerous a pass as I’ve ever seen Rodgers throw -and he throws many. As to the OPs question, Mitch was introduced to Pettine Wide 9. How many QBs played well their 1st time opposing that? Ask Rodgers. To the rest of you whippersnappers, #GETOFFMYLAWN! 1

BillsFan17
There was a lot that went into MT's struggles 1) I firmly believe the lack of playing time in the pre season hurt him. As well as Rodgers to an extent it appeared. 2) Absolutely criminal misuse of Montgomery. As well as not utilizing Miller in the passing game. 3) Nagy tried to be too cute at times. Almost like Chip Kelly, refusing to get out of their own way. 4) Green Bay also deserved a lot of credit. Their GM did a fantastic job revamping their D. You have to tip your cap to Pettine and the job hes done with getting a lot of newer additions all on the same page.

CincyBillsFan
I would be disappointed. But a bad outing by Allen in week 1 wouldn't exactly shock me. With a whole new cast on the offense and having only played about 4 quarters in pre-season I would expect the Bills O to get off to a slow start. Honestly what would shock me the most is if the Bills offense & Allen start off hot in the 1st quarter. And lets not forget what others have noted: the NFL season is a marathon not a sprint. Remember how after we traded for Drew Bledsoe we opened the season by crushing New England 31 - 0! And Bledsoe was SHARP. Then the next week we go on the road and beat Jacksonville 35 - 17! Talk about visions of Super Bowls dancing in our heads. But how did that season end? As I recall we finished 8 - 8 and missed the playoffs.

Patrick Duffy
Would not surprise me if some will be calling for Barkley. Anyways if he does, can only just move on to the next game and put it behind you. That's about it. With that said I wouldn't be too upset, maybe a little disappointed. But I feel he would rebound from it well IMO. So we shall see what happens. Edited September 6, 2019 by Patrick_Duffy

I've never observed so many asinine threads in such a short timeframe...and it's only week 1. BV, he looked bad, at home, in a big game against what last year was a very average defense. It’s a long season, but the guy looked lost. And if I’m a Bears fan, I’m not happy with Nagy for sitting the starters for the entire preseason. Malazan
Every year, people hoist up winners in week 1 and declare busts in week 1 then in week 2 and on they're made to the look the fool. Every year and yet they never learn. However he looks in game 1, isn't necessarily a sign of the rest of the season.
BuffaloBillsGospel
I'm expecting progression but as you can see even Aaron Rodgers looks mortal at times. The Jets defense is going to get at Josh Allen, Greg Williams will make it a point to get to the QB, it should be a really close game as I think these 2 teams are very similar. Rocket94
I work with Bears fans and there are a lot mixed reviews today about last nights game. To the ones expressing doubt, I gave them an out by saying the Bears regulars were just rusty from a lack of preseason playing time. They seem 50/50 on Trubisky. Yeah, I would be concerned if Allen had a bad 1st game, but I would be careful to consider all of the factors that may have contributed to it. BubbaT
I thought Green Bay (and definitely Chicago too) played great defense last night. There didn't appear to be a lot open and GB looked really well prepared for EVERYTHING the Bears showed them. Robinson made some nice catches on contested throws from Trubisky to make his numbers look slightly better. They needed to throw contested passes because there didn't appear to be much of anything available and he was under duress the whole game. If Josh plays sucky and looks confused/baffled/on the run all the time, I'll be unhappy but will realize it is game 1 of a 16 game season. was on the road in a tough place to play and will hope for better vs the Gmen. I'm not going to read doom and gloom in to 1 game. If it continues throughout the year, that's a different story.

Playoffs?
Trubisky is entitled to a bad game right? Mostly, being late with the ball, not keeping his eyes downfield and freelancing when it seemed he didn't have to. Looks like he was rusty, the same as Rogers was in Q1. Props to Pettine and the GB defense, though. That's the first time in many years that I've seen them they play stout (really impressed with their secondary--no wonder Josh Jones was b-wording about playing time)... Ta111
The Bears are a team that needs the D to play lights out and get turnovers. Last year the D was number 1 and they scored 6 TDs. That didn’t happen last night. They will not be successful if they are relying on Trubisky to win games for them throwing the ball 45 times.

One. Game. How many times have we been all excited when the Bills won a couple games against opponents predicted to be very very good? Only, 4-5 games in, it turns out actually that team kind of sucks this year and we just kicked sand in their face. Da Bears won 12 games last year. Trubisky was a legit part of that, with metrics we'd swoon to see from Allen. Green Bay thinks they've really improved their D. Rodgers thinks Green Bay has really improved its D. In a few games, we'll know if Green Bay's D is legit and if they're "contenders" or "pretenders". If the latter, be upset. If the former, every QB is going to get beaten up from time to time.
