Oh, that’s right, it’s Saturday. Day drinking is no way to go through life, son.

Day drinking is only socially acceptable if you call it “Brunch”. Then it is fine.  ?

I kind of hope another team claims him when he is cut and they sign someone else to the PS.

BTW anyone else think he went off script on the  long bomb int?

Dabol was giving it to him good on the sidelines.

There was a WR there, so clearly that play had the option to throw is deep. He was digging into him because he threw into double coverage. It was a dumb throw.

If we are honest about it and set aside the past, if he agreed not to kneel would you rather have Kaepernick on the roster than Jackson?   After last night I would.

Not to get political, but I think that whole kneeling thing probably started out as a contained gesture in Kaepernick's mind to show some solidarity to a cause he believed in and grew hair and teeth via news and social media. It became a symbol and a contest of wills between the NFL as a business and an individual player (employee).

It is unfortunate, but the NFL is a business and as a business controversy invites scrutiny, scrutiny means oversight and agencies looking into your operations. Right or wrong, most companies will opt to remove employees who are controversial and taking that contained fallout over keeping them around and inviting the head ache and potential financial consequences of unplanned operational scrutiny.

Purely on football skills alone, I think Kaepernick can still play - certainly at the level of a capable NFL backup and on skills alone it is a no-brainer, you take the guy who has the experience, the one who can take the wheel for a while till your starter can go again. But it isn't going to happen if the owners have locked arms in solidarity around not letting it happen - they would cut a deal through arbitration first to keep a player out of the league.

I also doubt NFL owners and their legal teams would ever agree to any deal with the NFLPA that would paint them into a corner where they had no discretionary means of removing a player.

Kap deserves to be on an NFL roster....period.

Now is there a job Kap is willing to take or compete for, that’s a different question.  Would he go to a team to compete for a backup spot?  That’s the question because lookin around the league, there isn’t any obvious choices to compete to start right now outside maybe Miami.  But Miami is gonna want to see what it’s got in Rosen, so that’s also not likely a place he can compete for a starting gig either.

As far as Bills go, no way we keep 3 QBs on the active roster, so this question is irrelevant.  The only reason Bills should ever consider Kap is if we lost one of our top 2 guys.  Other than that, we are set at QB.

Kaep won't come back to be a #2 even, unless he's paid like a starter.  And most teams aren't keeping 3 QB's these days.

...this ongoing  "Kaep Crap" is woefully nauseating STRICTLY from his football acumen (could give a rat's azz about his politics).......he hit the limelight way too fast, took this "easy game of NFL football" for granted (which is what the hell he was getting paid for), and focused on tats 'n poses......opposing DC's figured him out and exposed him as ordinary period...turned down offers because he envisioned himself as an NFL QB (shoulda tried lasik to fix that "blurred vision").....SMH....FWIW, Jackson to PS for now...........

Peterman is a mistery to me as well.   However, I saw Kaep play the Bills in New Era......and he is no world beater.  Not a starter based on what I saw that day.  We disagree, my point being the performance I saw that day.  (weak arm imho, not a bad as Peterman, but tending toward that end of the performance range)

I say absoluyely No to Kaep. However, there is no way that he has a weak arm. He has a rifle.

I wouldn't put either player on our 53 man roster. At least Jackson could go to the practice squad.

This comes from a person who doesn't care in the least that Kaepernick took a knee before games. This is America and he wasn't hurting anyone, except himself.

I really feel bad for Jackson. He has insane physical gifts, but he isn't anywhere near NFL ready. There really should be a path for kids to go back to school that have expectations of being drafted that don't, because the NFL doesn't have a system in place for these guys. From what I understand, NFL Practice squads aren't really designed to help guys develop.

The reason Jackson is on the roster is again for Bills to maintain   strong relationship with UB and the region.

Heck maybe they can nurture UB to become a solid farm team : )
i dig they brought Jackson on

The problem with bringing in Kaepernick is they'll be outside public pressure to make him our starter.  Matt Barkley is a capable backup and there will be a few QB's who are released in a couple of weeks we can bring in if we feel we need an upgrade over Jackson for a 3rd QB spot.

Bingo. Put Kaep on this team and every time Allen throws an incomplete pass, the Al Sharptons of the world will be all over social media explaining how the Pegula's are racists for not putting Kaep in the game. The Pegulas will make a donation to some Kaep fundraiser and they'll be chastised for their token donation and explain how the only way to make things right is to provide reparations for all the black quarterbacks not on an NFL team.

The dude is poison. I'd rather have Billy Jo Hobert as our #3 than Kaep.

Kaep wouldn't even come in and be a starter on a team he doesn’t like...and that doesn’t pay him at least 20 million.

As far as I am concerned he can kneel if he wants.....and yes I would take him as a QB on this team

That’s where I’m at as well.  He is a better qb than Barkley and it’s not even a question.  If you have Allen, Kaepernick, and put Jackson on practice squad, you have 3 qbs who have a very similar skill set.

What blows my mind is how people pick and choice what they take stands on.  We had Trump loving RI, one of the biggest scumbags ever, and some fans would still welcome him back after he threatened to shoot up a funeral home and beat up his grandma.  He’s just misunderstood.  Personally, and from playing sports, the locker room is filled with different personalities and that’s what makes sports great.  I would welcome Trump lover Nick Bosa as much as I would welcome Josh Rosen.  As long as you’re not a scumbag, I want the best team possible.  But Kaepernick should have punched a women or beat a baby.  He’d be in the league right now.

And no this is never happening.

I agree with you, I could care less about a player’s politics, but please don’t try to shove any politics down my throat while you’re playing for my team. I’m not watching for the politics—actually quite the opposite in fact. As for RI, I wouldn’t want him back either, even though I liked him as a player. He’s demonstrated his marbles are questionable one too many times.

Kaep's last year in the league (2016) he played in the same number of games as Josh Allen did last year and he was considerably better. It is ignorant to act like Kaep wouldn't make a good backup. I would rather have Kaep over Tyrod, and I think Tyrod is one of the better backups in the game. That media circus narrative is crap. Don't you listen to interviews where the coaches and players alike say they don't listen to the media? The only people who use the terms "team distraction" and "media circus" are the media and the easily influenced..

Also, Kaepernick most likely wins the starting job in Miami this year.

I do totally respect this opinion as well. Personally, I respect a millionaire who speaks up for less fortunate people and sports is a huge platform.  But I definitely get your position as well.

i do think it’s a pretty awful look for Kaepernick to be out of the league that just drafted Joe Mixon and Jeffrey Simmons in the draft.  And this didn’t cause a 1/5 of the outrage of CK, who literally hasn’t done one criminal thing in his life.

That loser Aaron Rodgers went 6-9-1 last year.  I won’t want him. Bum.

and clearly, the 49ers have completely turned things around since they got rid of CK.  They are a powerhouse now!

He had a 60% comp. 16:4 TD/INT, 2200 yards passing and almost 500 yards rushing.. In 11 starts.. He is certainly capable of being a #2 and possibly starting on a crappy team like Miami.

Yup, it’s a lazy argument people use.  If you don’t think Kaepernick is one of the best 64 qbs, you’re a liar.  If Allen has a 4 td to 1 int ratio this year, we would build him a statue.

Then they'll criticize Pegula for his fracking background and donating to Republican politicians.  It's going to take a stupid owner to sign him.  My money is on Mike Brown.
