Kirby Jackson
Another sad story about a former Bills player grieving. I always liked NRC. Hopefully he can find peace with tragedy. http://www.espn.com/blog/los-angeles-rams/post/_/id/39705/lifetime-of-sorrow-hasnt-taken-everything-from-rams-cb-nickell-robey-coleman Edited January 17, 2019 by Kirby Jackson 4
The Real Buffalo Joe
I'm ususally not one to admit this, but I'm literally fighting back tears at my desk. I also always liked him, and wish him nothing but success when not playing The Bills. Dude has every reason in the world to be angry, and seems to be doing the exact opposite.

Mark Vader
I really enjoyed him when he was a Bill, and I'm happy for him that he has found success with the Rams. Reading this just makes you want to cheer for him even more. Such tragedy. God bless you, Nickell.
Juice_32
That is a strong man. I’d like to think I could have perspective like his in a situation like that but I doubt I could. God bless him and his family.

machine gun kelly
KJ - Thanks for sharing. I don’t normally talk about it, but my mom died unexpectedly on my 40th birthday, and my middle son was born at 28 weeks at only 2lbs. 4 ounces. On top of it there were severe complications with my wife who almost died several times. God willing Ryan is great, and Diane came through it after months of treatment. I only share this personal info. As I might have some small understanding of how he must feel. I was very blessed not to lose my wife or son, but there isn’t a day I don’t thank God for their health and my mom’s peace. i wish only the best for NCR, and am sure he must have a good support network to get him through it. A parent should never have to bury their child. I can only imagine his pain. God bless NCR AND I’ll say prayers for you. 6
dave mcbride
Always liked him. A question: was the PI called against him in London (v Jax) the worst and most game-deciding call against the Bills since the late 1990s (Just give it to him plus Home Run forward lateral)? LABILLBACKER
So grateful the Bills had him for 4 years. So glad he got a nice contract with LAR and play with fellow Trojan Robert. NoHuddleKelly12
Thanks for the post; it’s heartbreaking for his losses and uplifting at the same time in terms of how he’s using what’s happened to him for motivation; he could just as easily have folded and gone into a downward spiral and who could’ve blamed him? No everyone does NOT hate him. Your hate has colored your view. I hate that he gave up trying with Bills and wasted all the opportunities the Bills gave him and all of the help they tried to give him but not hate the player and if I met him would tell him so. 19 minutes ago, Steve O said: Officially rooting for the Rams now. But NRC seems like a really good dude and he’s a tough player. For some reason, we are great at finding corners.

TigerJ
It's never the cards you're dealt. It's how you play them. I wouldn't wish on anyone the tragedies NRC has had to endure, but I don't feel pity for him because he has endured and overcome. I feel admiration. Beast
Robey-Coleman and Bob Woods are two players, off the top of my head, that Bills fans have fond feelings for and wish well....showing we aren’t bitter about every player that leaves. I remember a tuck rule call in Cincinnati a few years back that completely changed the game. Don't remember the details or the season, but it was definitely a critical game and that play changed everything. I thought it was a trash call. Augie
Ugh....How horribly sad.... At least his mother and son are together now, and he’s dealing with the loss with amazing strength and grace. Just today I bought a towel for my sister who is going through some difficult family stuff. It says: “They say God only gives you what you can handle. Apparently God thinks I’m a badass.” Prayers to NRC and his family. It’s so tough.

Odd thing is I only remember Henry being from there because the name kind of stands out and it's somewhat odd that two (relatively recent) Bills came from the same tiny town. Must play some serious football in Frostproof. At any rate, NRC has a really positive attitude. Some people would wallow, but what good is that gonna do? You really have to keep on grinding in life regardless of circumstance. No other good choice but to keep it going.

That’s how it goes, in waves. You know you can only go forward, but sometimes it’s tougher than you think to do it. Believe me. Time helps, but you never forget. It just hurts less. There are certain pockets in FL with ridiculous talent. RIDICULOUS. Frostproof is one, and Pahokee is another. My son lined up against Janoris Jenkins in the state semi’s one year. There were some other NFL players in that game, I think, but memory fails me. We held them close for a half. That seemed to piss them off....it got ugly. My younger son battled a kid from Bradenton who we thought was pretty darn good. He starts at CB for the Falcons now. And Florida is just such a hotbed for talent in general. Amazing that none of the major programs have been able to sustain success over the last decade or so. Cool story about your son.
